At Jennifer’s house, Miley is getting ready for her first day at Summer Bay High.
Miley: This uniform is so 1950s!
Jennifer: No use complaining about the uniform, darling. It is what it is.
Miley: Are you sure my new school is a public high school? I look like a private school student in this dress.
Jennifer: Miley, I’m positively sure. They have different uniforms at every high school.
Miley: Well, my old high school wasn’t bad when it came to uniform.
Jennifer: You miss the city, don’t you?
Miley: Of course, but I want to make the most of my time here. *smiles*
Jennifer: Come here, darling.
*Miley and Jennifer hug*
Jennifer: Don’t forget your lunch money.
Miley: I won’t. *smiles*
(A few minutes later, Miley enters the grounds of Summer Bay High and sees Atlee.)
Miley: Amanda?
*Atlee looks at Miley with disinterest*
Atlee: Sorry, you’re not having Paul Jensen! He’s mine!
*Miley looks confused*
Miley: It’s me, your cousin.
*Atlee realises who she is*
Atlee: Miley? As in, Aunt Jen’s daughter?
Miley: That’s me!
Atlee: It’s so good to see you!
*Atlee hugs Miley*
Miley: I haven’t seen you since 1986. How’s Aunty Suzanne?
Atlee: She’s a bitch as always.
Miley: What year are you in, Amanda?
Atlee: Year 11 and I prefer to be called ‘Atlee’.
Miley: Atlee?
Atlee: I put my middle name and the first two letters of my surname together. It’s a long and complicated story.
Miley: I see. By the way, who’s Paul Jensen?
Atlee: My boyfriend. So, what year are you in this year?
Miley: Year 9.
Atlee: Cool. You’ll make friends easily.
*Miley and Atlee smile at each other*
(Over at Shirley’s holiday house, Kierain is struggling to break free.)
Kierain: *mumbling* Help! Help!
*Shirley strolls in*
Shirley: Getting uncomfortable? Oh, that’s too bad!
*Kierain mumbles angrily*
Shirley: Can’t talk either? What a pity!
*Shirley takes Kierain’s shoes off*
Shirley: You wanted to kick me with those boots, didn’t you?! Guess what? It backfired!
*Kierain glares at Shirley*
Shirley: Now, now. I’m off to the shops. You behave yourself. *laughs before closing the door*
*Kierain moves towards the window to alert someone*
Kierain: *mumbling* HELP! HELP! HELP!
*Kierain ends up falling on the floor*
Kierain: *mumbling* ARGH!

Later that morning, Peter is returning home from hospital after his hit and run accident.
Kerry: How are you feeling now, love?
Peter: Still sore, but I’ll live. Where are the kids?
Kerry: At school and working at the Diner.
Peter: And Steven?
Kerry: He’s no longer living with us anymore.
Peter: Did you kick him out?
Kerry: No, he’s decided to have nothing more to do with this family after Maria’s death so he’s moved in with Vicki Baxter.
Peter: Maria’s dead? What happened?
Kerry: She crashed her car into a tree and was killed on impact.
Peter: I feel like it’s all my fault.
Kerry: It’s not. No one is to blame for Maria’s death. It was Steven’s choice to move out. If he wants nothing to do with us, that’s fine. We’ll repay the favour.
Peter: Come here, love.
*they kiss*
(Meanwhile, Atlee and Paul are talking about their plans for the evening.)
Paul: Did you want to go out with me tonight?
Atlee: Sure. Where did you want to take me?
Paul: The diner okay?
Atlee: Sure. *smiles*
Paul: Great. I’ll pick you up at 7.
Atlee: Awesome.
*Paul and Atlee kiss passionately as Edina Hobbs walks past*
Edina: Get a room, lovebirds!
Atlee: No man would want an ugly scrag like you anyway!
Edina: Rack off! *storms away*
Atlee: Bitch!
Paul: Now, now. Be nice, Atlee. *laughs*
Atlee: I am. *laughs as well*
(On the quadrangle, Miley is hanging out with Ann and Misty.)
Miley: Who was that little worm in our Science class that kept calling you girls names?
Ann: That’s Kathryn Jenkins. She’s a nasty little cow!
Misty: She gave me a hard time last year because I was having problems.
Miley: What kind of problems?
Misty: This guy I used to date. His name was Josh. Our relationship was just a mess to begin with.
Miley: Sorry to hear that.
Misty: He didn’t treat me bad or nothing. Just people interfering and the long distance was just too much for me and him to cope. We’re still friends.
Miley: That’s good.
Ann: Where do you come from, Miley?
Miley: The city aka Sydney.
Ann: Cool!
Misty: Awesome!
Miley: It’s a cool place, but I like it here too. *smiles*
Misty: Now that you’ve made friends.
Miley: Everyone seems to like me here.
Ann: You must have a strong enigma.
Miley: I must draw people with my friendly and charismatic nature. *laughs*
*Ann and Misty look at each other and start laughing too*

That afternoon, Shirley returns to her holiday house to find Kierain still struggling to break free.
Shirley: You will never learn, will you?! YOU ARE NOT ESCAPING!
*Kierain mumbles*
Shirley: SILENCE!
*Shirley picks Kierain up and throws him on a bed*
Shirley: The floor was too easy for you!
*Shirley throws a stuffed animal at Kierain*
Kierain: *mumbling* OUCH!
Shirley: Like I said, I’m going to enjoy this!
*Kierain looks scared*
(A few minutes later, Kierain is silent.)
Shirley: That was good!
*Kierain closes his eyes*
Shirley: Well, I’ll be back tonight. So be prepared.
*Shirley closes the door*
Kierain: *mumbling* Let me go!
*Kierain struggles to break free. When he can’t, he starts sobbing*
Kierain: *mumbling* Just let me go.

*As Maggie examines Kierain, she looks shocked*

(Later that afternoon, Karen and Sophie are having milkshakes in the diner when Emma strolls in.)

On the beach, Taylor is having a run when he sees Steve Wiley walk over with his camera.
Steve: Excuse me mate?
*Taylor looks at him*
Taylor: Steve Wiley, is that you man?
Steve: And you are?
Taylor: Taylor Murphy, we used to go the same high school in the city. I remember you moved over from Hartley.
*Steve realises who Taylor is*
Steve: Oh! Hey man!
Taylor: How are things with you?
Steve: Awesome!
Taylor: That’s good. *smiles*
Steve: Got a girlfriend yet, man?
Taylor: Yeah.
Steve: Awesome! I’ve got a girl too.
Taylor: Who?
Steve: Her name is Melissa.
Taylor: Awesome mate!
Steve: Do you still hear from the old gang? Tiago, James, Rodney, Nathan, Ashley and Paige?
Taylor: Tiago’s dead.
Steve: What? When did he pass away?
Taylor: Last year. He was bashed.
*Steve drops his camera on the sand and starts to cry*
*Taylor hugs him*
(At Vicki’s flat, Steven is preparing dinner when someone knocks on the door.)
Vicki: I’ll get it. *opens the door to find Jennifer standing there* Yes, Miss?
Jennifer: Hi. There’s no one in the shop.
Vicki: It burnt down.
Jennifer: Oh no. Any casualties?
Vicki: Yeah. Three dead.
Jennifer: Oh dear. Who died?
Vicki: Mr and Mrs Barrow and Dr Matheson.
Jennifer: Didn’t the Barrow’s have a daughter? Where is she?
Vicki: Staying with the Wong’s.
Jennifer: Poor thing.
*Steven accidentally drops a glass*

Vicki: Relax, Steven. We can get another one at the bait shop.
Jennifer: Who is this young man?
Steven: Steven Matheson.
Jennifer: I’m Jennifer Atkinson. I heard about your recent losses. My deepest sympathies.
Steven: How did you find out about Maria?
Jennifer: In the papers.
Steven: Okay.
*Vicki is taking her medication*
Jennifer: Are you sick?
Vicki: I have manic depression.
Jennifer: How bad?
*Vicki explains*

Steven: I’m glad I left my family!
Jennifer: Why?
Steven: They didn't understand about Maria.
Jennifer: I see. Well, come around for a coffee one day and we’ll talk. I better go.
Steven: See ya.
*Jennifer leaves*

At the hospital, Kierain and Sandy are snuggled and both asleep.
Girl: How cute.
*Maggie enters*
Maggie: Time to wake up. *smiles*
*he wakes*

Kierain: I want Mum.
Maggie: I tried calling her, but there’s no answer.

*Jeanette then proceeds to hit and scratch Kierain*

*they take her away*
(Later, Chrissie signs his discharge.)
Chrissie: You okay, darlin?
*he hugs her*
Kierain: I’ve missed you.
Chrissie: I’ve missed you too.
*Chrissie notices scratch marks on Kierain’s face, arms and legs*
Chrissie: What happened?
*Kierain starts to cry*
Chrissie: What happened?
Kierain: Jeanette hit and scratched me.
Chrissie: WHAT?!
Kierain: And she said that I was gay.
(Bette returns home later.)
Bette: I’m back from the market.
*he runs to her*

*she picks him up*
Bette: What on earth happened to you?
Kierain: Mummy?
Bette: What is it, honey?
Kierain: Shirley hurt me.
Bette: What else?
Kierain: Jeanette scratched me, hit me and said I was gay.
*Bette looks angry and tries to get up but he's hugging her*
Bette: Well, Shirley and Jeanette are GONE! *pries herself off Kierain* Diane?
Diane: Yes?
Bette: Hug him.
*Diane does so*
(Bette arrives at the holiday house.)
Bette: OPEN THE DOOR NOW!

*Shirley tries to close the door, but Bette throws it open and storms in*

On Friday morning, Evelyn is talking to June before she leaves for school.
Evelyn: Love?
June: Yes, Mum?
Evelyn: I’ve been thinking about this for a while, but I’m thinking of moving.
*June looks annoyed*
June: Not again!
Evelyn: I mean move into a house in Summer Bay, silly. *smiles*
June: You mean that?
Evelyn: Of course, love.
*June’s face goes from annoyed to happy*
June: When can we move into our new house?
Evelyn: I found one in the same street Belinda Macklin lives in.
June: Cool. Did you take it?
Evelyn: Yes. We’ll be moving in next week.

*June gives her mother a huge hug*
(Meanwhile, Shirley sees Kierain on the street as she is driving back to Wandin Valley.)

*As Shirley grabs Kierain, Fran comes out of Woolworths and pries Shirley off his arm*

That afternoon, Sophie and Karen are in the school library using the computer to go on FaceSpace.
Sophie: I hope Paige Novak is on.
Karen: Same. That’s the whole reason we’re on.
*They see that Paige is online*

*As Sophie and Karen are talking to Paige, the librarian Miss Natalie Barr approaches them*

Alice: I have the answer to your question. His name is Steve Wiley. He went to primary school with me, Tiago and Taylor. He then moved to Hartley in Year 7 before returning to Sydney and he’s now living with his aunty in Yabbie Creek.
Geri: He’s cute.
Alice: I know right.
*Steve notices the group*
Steve: Hey guys.

*The thief runs off*

(Meanwhile, Paul is walking along the bush when he stops to tie his shoelace. When he does, a woman storms over to him.)
Laura Brennan: What are you doing on my property?!
Paul: I was just tying my shoelace.
Laura: Well, tie it somewhere else!

Laura: If you don’t leave my property, I’ll have you charged with trespassing! Now move it!
*Paul runs off as Laura smirks*
