Sorry for the wait! I've got lots of chapters now and I was just working out the order of them and then I changed the order but anyways lol here's the next part.

A month later we went into our room and put our suitcases down. I climbed on the bed and sat there for a moment.

“It feels good to be home again” I commented.

“Yeah” Joey agreed. “Though I loved Italy”

“Oh me too. It was fantastic” I said.

We started to do the unpacking.

“Do you want to go to the diner?” Joey asked once we’d finished.

“Yeah, I’m starving” I agreed.

“I just realised something…”

“What?” I asked as we walked to the diner.

“This is the first time at the diner as a married couple” Joey observed.

I smiled. “That’s true” I said.

We walked into the diner.

“Oh you guys are back” Martha came excitedly up to us, giving us hugs.

Leah came out of the kitchen.

“Hey guys, how was Italy?” She asked.

“Amazing” we both said at the same time.

We sat down at Martha’s table.

“It was really incredible we saw so much” I said.

“And did so much too” Joey said suggestively.

“Oh that’s a bit too much information” Martha said with a smile.

I laughed. “So, what’s been going on here?” I asked. “Or better yet, how’s Ruby?”

“Ruby’s fine. Though she and Xavier had a fight but they are fine now” Leah said.

“What was the fight about?” I asked.

“Just that Xavier didn’t tell her something that she thought she should have known about” Leah explained.

“Everyone else is fine too” Martha put in. “Nothing major has happened”

“Okay, that’s good” I said.

“Oh good your back” Alf said walking up to us.

“Hi Alf” I greeted him.

“Hi Grandad” Martha said.

”Hi, I was just wondering if I could talk with Joey, I have an offer for her” he said.

“Sure. Do you want to sit with us?” Joey answered.

Alf sat down. “So, before I begin I want to say that I don’t mind if you decline” he said.

“Okay” Joey said but she looked confused.

“Grandad what’s going on?” Martha asked.

“Okay well I just got some people who are interested in going on a trip for a month or so on the Blaxland. They want someone to show them all around and do some fishing. And to learn more about boats. They are willing to pay big time. I thought of you immediately Joey because I know how much you love boats. But it would be a whole month, maybe more, away from here”

“Wow” Joey exclaimed. “It sounds awesome. Except for the fact that I’d be leaving Charlie”

“I knew that would be a concern” Alf said.

I looked at Joey and I could see she looked excited, like she really wanted to go. “Jo you should do it” I said suddenly.

“I should?” she questioned.

“Yeah, you should see your face. I know you want to go”

“But, you heard Alf it will be for a month or more” she said.

“I know and I’ll miss you like crazy but you should really do this. And if they are paying big who knows, maybe you could buy your own boat”

She smiled. I knew she’d like that idea.

“When?” She asked Alf.

“In a few days” he answered.

She looked back at me.

”Do it” I said nodding my head.

“Okay, I’ll do it” She accepted.

“That’s fantastic. I’ll be by later with the details” he said and left.

“So that sounds awesome” Martha said.

“Yeah it really does. I’ve always wanted to do something like this” Joey said.

”Congratulations Joey” Leah said. “Anyway better get back to it”

”See you later Leah” Joey said.

“I better take off too” Martha said.

“Bye Martha” I said.

“I’m going to miss you so much” Joey said when we were alone.

“I know, I’m going to miss you like crazy” I said again.

She reached over the table and held my hand.

“We’re going to be okay right?” she asked.

“Of course we will be babe. Nothing will change between us” I reassured her.

“Just that sometimes long distance doesn’t work” Joey said.

“I know, but we will be fine Jo. My love for you won’t change even though you’ll be out in the middle of the ocean” I said.

She smiled.

Just a heads up that some of the chapters will have spoilers from the big spoiler thread also some will be from whats happening right now on the show but it will be done my way if that makes sense. lol. Anyway thanks for reading and an update will be up soon.

“So when does Joey leave?” Georgia asked me a couple of days later.

“After lunch today” I answered.

“Then what the hell are you doing here girl? Go and spend time with your wife” she said.

“Yeah I really should shouldn’t I?’ I said.

“Yeah girl go home” Georgia said.

We laughed. “See you later” I said and left for home.

I entered the house and found Joey packing last minute things. I sat on the bed watching her.

“It’s really hitting me now that I’m not going to see you for two months” she said.

I looked at her. “Two months?” I asked.

“Oh right. Yeah well since I told you yesterday it was a month and a couple of weeks but now they want a couple more weeks on top of that and there going to pay me so much money. I was going to tell you but you left for work already” she said.

“Two months is like forever” I said.

“I agree. I can still back out. Alf can get someone else, he told me this morning” she said.

“You want to do this, I can see that and I want you to do this. Don’t back out just for me”

“Are you sure darling?” Joey asked.

“Quite sure” I answered.

She crawled on the bed. “You are the best wife in the whole world” she said.

I smiled. “Don’t you forget that” I said.

“Never” she said giving me a kiss and we spent the rest of our time in bed.

Well, that was shorter than I expected. Hmm interesting, I'm looking forward to seeing what you've got planned.

A few hours later Joey was putting her suitcases on the boat. A lot of people came to say goodbye to her. There was Aden, Nicole, Leah, Martha, Kirsty, Miles, Roman, Ruby and of course myself. As I was watching her throw her bags on board I was trying really hard to be strong. She went and hugged every person goodbye. As she was hugging Ruby I could see her saying something to her but I didn’t hear what it was.

She lastly came up to me and pulled me away from the others.

“I love you” I said.

“I love you too” Joey replied.

I could feel everyone’s eyes on us as we hugged tightly for a few minutes. She kissed me passionately. She looked at me one more time and stepped onto the boat. She waved at us as the boat started to move away. I stood there waving back till I could no longer see her. I went and sat on the step and put my head between my knees, I could feel tears running down my face.

Ruby came and sat next to me.

“She’ll be back soon sis” she said rubbing my back.

”I know but I’m just going to miss her so much” I said looking up at her. “What did she say to you anyway?”

“She wants me to look after you” she said.

I started to laugh. “I thought that was it” I said.

“It will be weird not having her around the house, her nice energy” Ruby commented.

“Yeah, defiantly” I agreed.

We sat there for another moment.

“I’m ready to go” I said no longer wanting to be there.

We walked back up to where my friends were.

“You okay Charlie?” Martha asked giving me a hug.

“Not yet, but I will be” I said.

“Oh there’s Xavier. I’ll see you later sis” Ruby said.

“Bye” I replied watching her give Xavier a hug.

I sighed and looked back out at the ocean. Of course I could not see the Blaxland anywhere.

“Charlie, I think you should get out of here” Aden said breaking into my thoughts.

“Yeah Aden’s right… for once” Nicole said.

“Nice one Nic” Aden retorted.

“No, really, Charlie if you stay here your just going to feel more sad then if you were somewhere else. This is where you said goodbye, you need to be somewhere different”

“Nic has a point” Roman put in.

I was listening to my friends, I really was. Though my thoughts still kept going to Joey.

I faced them. “And where should I go huh? Everywhere reminds me of Joey. Every single little place. And before you say she’s coming back in 2 months, I do know that. But 2 months is forever”

“I’m confused… why did you tell her to go then?” Nicole asked.

“Because I could see in her eyes that she really wanted to go. I’m not going to stand in her way. She still has to live her life” I answered.

“Oh. That’s really good of you” Nicole said.

I looked at her. “Are you being sarcastic?” I asked.

“No. I mean, I don’t know if Geoff wanted to leave for 2 months I don’t know whether I would tell him to go or not. I admire you, you know for putting her needs first. Its really great” she said.

“Yeah maybe you could learn from Charlie, Nic” Roman said.

“Maybe, but I can’t change overnight Dad” Nicole said.

“Actually Nic I think you’ve done a great job at changing your ways. When I first met you I thought you were a bit of a brat but now I don’t think that at all” I said honestly.

“Well, thanks” Nicole said.

I looked toward the ocean again. “Your right” I said looking back at them. “I need to get out of here”

“Do you want to get something to eat from the diner?” Leah asked.

“I’d rather be alone right now if that’s okay” I said.

“Okay” Leah agreed.

“You can be alone now but I’m not taking no for an answer. Your coming to my house for dinner. Actually you can all come” Miles said.

“I wouldn’t be good company” I said.

“Doesn’t matter Charlie. Your coming” he said stubbornly.

“Your so stubborn” I complained.

“I can do a nice pasta” he said.

”Yeah he really can” Kirsty put in.

“Okay, okay” I laughed, giving up. “I’m coming”

“Good” Miles said.

“Now guys I’m going to go for a walk by myself” I said. “So I’ll see you all later”

I waved at them and headed in the opposite direction. I wanted to be by myself. I needed time to think. I knew these two months are going to be tough. I had been walking for about 10 minutes when I came across Rachel looking frantic about something.

“Rach you okay?” I asked concerned.

“Yeah but have you seen Tony?” She asked.

“Not today” I answered.

“Okay, if you see him can you tell him I’m looking for him” she said.

“Sure” I replied.

She looked closely at me. “Hey I should be asking if your okay” she said.

“Joey left today” I said.

“Oh that’s right. On her trip” she said.

“Yeah. And I’ve just been walking wondering what I’m going to do with myself for the next two months”

“Oh Charlie” she said. “Two months will go by before you know it”

I nodded “That’s what I’m trying to convince myself”

“Well if you want to talk you know where I am” she said.

“Thanks Rach” I said.

A few hours later I walked into Miles place. Just about everyone was there already.

“Hi all” I greeted them. I really was trying to be cheerful.

Miles looked up. “Finally Buckton, I thought you weren’t going to show” he said jokingly.

“Well I said I would come didn’t I?” I said, not really in a mood for his jokes.

Miles pulled me outside.

“Charlie do you want to talk?” he asked.

I sighed. “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to sound mean or ungrateful. I’m kinda just having a hard time dealing with Joey being away, more then I thought, even though its only been one day. I can’t imagine what one week is going to be like”

He hugged me. “Your going to be fine” Miles said.

“I know” I said. “So, how are things with you and Kirsty?” I asked changing the subject.

“Things are great” he said enthusiastically.

“That’s awesome” I said.

“Hey Miles, I think the pasta is nearly ready” Kirsty interrupted us.

“Okay, are you hungry Charlie?” Miles asked me.

“Starving actually. I didn’t really have lunch” I said.

“You should really take good care of yourself you know that don’t you?” Miles lectured me.

”I know, I just wasn’t really in the mood”

“Okay, I’ll let you off the hook just once”

I smiled. “Gee thanks you are so kind” I said sarcastically.

Miles laughed and went to get the pasta out. I sat down next to Martha and Leah.

“That smells so good, I’m so hungry now” I said.

“Mmm yeah me too” Leah said.

“Hey, where’s Roman?” Martha asked Leah.

“At the diner” she answered.

“Is he coming around tonight?” I couldn’t resist teasing her.

She turned red.

“I take that as yes” I said.

Miles put the pasta on the table and we all sat around eating it. A couple of hours later we’d finished eating and talking.

I saw Leah glance at her watch.

“Do you want to go?” she asked me.

“So you can see Roman? Sure why, not” I laughed.

She swatted at me and stood up.

“Thanks for dinner Miles” she said.

“Leaving already?” Miles asked.

“She has a date with Roman” I said teasingly.

“Oooh, Roman” Kirsty teased.

“Shut up you guys!” she laughed.

“I’m really happy for you Leah, its nice to see you like this” Kirsty said.

“Thanks Kirst” Leah replied. “I’m going to go now though, coming Charlie?”

“Sure” I said.

We waved goodbye and walked towards the diner.

“Its true, what Kirsty said, its nice seeing you like this. And even nicer that your with Roman who is such a good guy” I said.

“Yeah and he is so good in bed too” Leah admitted.

I laughed. “I remember and I agree with you there” I said.

Leah laughed too. “Oh Charlie, what would Joey say if she heard that”

“Nothing because Joey is way better then Roman or any other guy I’ve been with” I said smiling.

Leah linked arms with me as we walked into the empty diner. Roman came out of the kitchen.

“Hi guys, how was Miles dinner?” he asked.

“Fantastic” I answered.

“You seem to be in a better mood” he commented.

“Nah, I’m still the same. Just trying not to show it” I answered honestly.

“Well, I’m not trying to rub it in your face but I’m going to kiss Leah now” he grinned.

I unhooked our arms so that Leah & Roman could kiss. This went on for a few minutes, I even heard Leah moan.

“Um, guys? I’m still here” I reminded them playfully.

They pulled apart guiltily. “Oh, right. Sorry Charlie” Leah said embarrassed.

“Tis no problem” I said with a smile. “Why don’t we leave so you guys can go to bed?” I said laughing.

“Sounds good to me” Roman said.

Superb update again. Probably my last before I go as well. Unless there's a wee bonus later. No? Oh well, I'll have plenty to catch up on when I get home.
