Rather cynical article I thought:

O'Brien signs with Hollywood giant

14 February 2009

The Gold Coast Bulletin

FORMER Gold Coast and Home and Away actor Paul O'Brien has taken his first big step in cracking the big time in Hollywood.

O'Brien was last week signed by agency giant ICM and to celebrate promptly took himself down the road to buy a new silver BMW.

Hopefully, it will be an omen for O'Brien with this year's Logie Awards and his previous two unsuccessful nominations for a silver Logie. Also the news that Jack Holden, Paul's character in Home and Away, is officially and finally dead has caused no end of wailing and gnashing of teeth from his devoted fans, who have bombarded his website with heartfelt pleas and tears.

There's nothing as final as a scriptwriter who kills you off, so sad to say, folks. Unlike a John Farnham return, Jack's definitely not coming back.

Aww I'm glad he's doing well over in LA :)

Wow, what a way to celebrate

I hope this might put an end to people thinking Jack is still alive. I doubt it though.

I think i've finally accepted it :( It's pretty much in black and white now?

Thankyou for the article!!!!

I've never thought he was a particularly good actor [ducks for cover] but maybe it was his storylines on HAA. I hope that he does well in LA, he has the sort of 'boy next door' good looks that should help him along the way.

And look how well 'Jim Robinson from Neighbours' has done in America- he seems to be in every show these days
