Sinful Seduction?

Yay, you updated! Thanks.

We used to have a lady who went around the clubs and pubs and sold roses. She got murdered a couple of years ago. (Well there's a bright, cheery story, sorry, just made me think of her).

Why can't they just admit they want each other? You write J/M so well, it's exactly they way they are, too damn stubborn for their own good.

More soon please (if you can).

It's always hard to get rid of the people who sell flowers and those roses are so expensive. If you say no, they should just leave.

Poor Martha! She wants Jack. Too bad, he's dating Lisa although he doesn't really like her because he'd rather be with Martha.

Martha's going to be jealous. That should be interesting. :)

Hopefully, they'll realise they belong together. <_<

More please.

Chapter 21:

Standing in silence, side by side, was enough to drive them both insane. But neither of them felt the urge to talk, just knowing that if they did, they’d only end up saying the wrong thing.

The only form of distraction was the picturesque landscape set out before them, and the knowledge that in about 10 minute’s time, the sun would go down, bringing on forth the depths of the night.

Turning his head, he took in her look of intensity; her focus so strong as she gazed out towards the horizon.

He smiled as he studied her glowing face; the warm orange sun illuminating her lines, creating a healthy golden shimmer in the dimmed light.

“You know, you look even more beautiful at sunset.” The gentle words slipped out from his mouth.

She blushed as she felt his eyes on her intently; turning to face him she grinned. “Is that what you say to all the girls?” she cheekily raised her eyebrows.

He chuckled softly, “No, actually its not”.

Her face continued to bare a warm smile as she looked at him; before she angled her body back around to face the horizon.

Keeping her eyes on the view, she blocked out the various sounds of car doors slamming shut and people nattering, and just allowed for the atmosphere to captivate her.

What she didn’t expect was for the moment to be quickly disrupted…

“Hey guys! Fancy seeing you here!” a familiar voice called over to them from behind.

Turning around in unison they were greeted with several of their friends.

Forcing away their sheer dread and disappointment, they smiled; waving them over, and trying their best to be polite.

“Hey!” Grinned Jack, “Great minds think alike huh” he added as he welcomed his girlfriend into a hug, “what are you doing here?”

“Oh we were bored and thought we’d check this new bar out. I heard it was pretty hip”.

Jack nodded in response, turning back to glance at Martha; and flashing her a small and rather awkward smile.

“Ooo someone got lucky!” beamed an excited Lisa, as she caught a look at the item in Martha’s hand, “Who’s the rose off?”

At that very moment in time, Martha’s heart began to pound in her chest, she could hear the distinct sound of a heavy beat in her ear, as she clung onto the flower with her sweaty hand. “Oh, umm,” she paused as she studied the rose in her hand, “it was just … some random guy” she lied, shrugging her shoulders and keeping her attention on Lisa to avoid Jack at all costs.

“Cool, was he cute?”

“Erm, I don’t know,” she shrugged awkwardly, not failing to notice Jack in the corner of her eye, as he rolled his eyes at her.

Lisa giggled at her friends response, “How can you not know if he was cute or not”.

“Well, I guess he was” she managed to mumble out as all eyes were now on her, “he left though” she added.

“And you didn’t get his number!?” Lisa questioned her in disbelief.

“No”.

Rolling her eyes she stepped forward, placing her hand on her friends arm, “Martha” she began in concern, “you’ve got to be more confident and outspoken, you’ll never get another boyfriend otherwise”.

Narrowing her eyes she turned to Lisa, “well good then, because I’m not looking for one! Now can we talk about something else please” she abruptly snapped in return.

“Yeah … sorry”.

Choosing to leave it, the 5 friends made their way inside. With Martha now feeling like the worlds worst best friend, if things weren’t bad before, they were a whole lot worse now…

………………

“Hi!” Beamed Lisa as she approached the middle-aged man selling roses.

It was 20 minutes after the earlier incident, and things had thankfully calmed down. Martha had apologised for previously being so abrupt and now Lisa had excused herself to go to the bathroom. Truth be told however, she was off on a mission…

Unfortunately for her, she didn’t receive the response she had hoped for…

“Wait! What?” she paused, making sure she hadn’t misheard him, “Jack bought her the rose?” her voice exclaimed with a hint of surprise and sadness.

“Hmm, yes. That would be the young man with the extreme lack of romance” he replied as he rolled his eyes, “well, I’m done for the day, enjoy your evening miss”.

Standing on her own at the bar she glared daggers at Martha. How dare she lie to her like that! Making her believe some random guy came along and bought her a rose, when really it was none other than her own brother! Lisa’s boyfriend to be exact!

Stomping over to Jack in annoyance, she resolved to confront him …

“Why did you lie about the rose Jack?” she questioned him in a controlled manor, as she pulled him to one side.

He inwardly groaned at the sudden knowledge that they’d been busted. Releasing a loud sigh he contemplated a way to get himself out of it, “Look, I’m really sorry, I guess we just didn’t want it to seem weird, that’s all”.

“Weird?” she repeated.

“Yeah, you know, because were family” he started, “the guy practically forced me to buy one anyway, its not like I did it because I wanted to” he said as he looked away; for a split second glancing across at Martha.

“Whatever, I’m not even bothered about the rose. I just hate that you lied to me, Martha especially!” she ranted as she looked at Martha.

Releasing a loud sigh she turned back to Jack, “Look, I’m going to the bathroom; I’ll be back in 5” her voice softened, before she made her way towards the restrooms.

He watched as she walked away, his heart broke ever so slightly at Lisa’s upset, before he quickly brushed it aside. He needed to get back to Martha before she made it any worse.

Noticing her chatting to Tasha and Kim, he made his approach…

“Hey” he came to her side, coming up close to her and causing Martha to frown at their sudden proximity. “I need to talk to you …” he whispered into her ear as he entwined his fingers around her arm, “… excuse us guys; family stuff” he turned back to his friends as he pulled Martha to one side.

“What is it Jack?” she asked as she folded her arms; trying to remain nonchalant, but inside feeling an indescribable mix of joy and a tingling excitement.

“Lisa knows about the rose,” he said as he placed his hands in his pockets; flicking his eyes around the room in suspicion.

“What!? How!? You told her!?” she fired questions at him.

“No, of course not, she just knew somehow” he shrugged, “I recon that guy probably told her” he added in irritation.

“Oh well great” she exclaimed in a sarcastic tone. “Does she hate us?” she spoke in worry.

“Well, she wasn’t exactly amused” he rolled his eyes away from her, “actually, I seemed to wriggle my way out of it quite nicely, mostly she’s just pissed at you” he sniggered.

Her face fell from slight hope to sheer annoyance. “Jack” she raised her head quickly; her face smiling at him in exaggeration, “read my lips … you’re a toad” she answered. Her eyes narrowing into a glare.

“I’m a what!?” he burst out in amusement.

“You’re a toad!” she began, “and a bonehead! In fact, I’ve got an entire list for you!” she exclaimed smartly.

“Hmm, as have I” he grinned back; a flash of lust shooting through his eyes as he looked at her.

Her happiness soon drifted away, as awkwardness quickly consumed her; suddenly she became very well aware of her friends sitting approximately 10 feet away from her.

“Look, whatever, I’ll deal with Lisa when the time comes” she muttered out with a lack of enthusiasm.

Slowly turning on her heel, she returned back to her seat.

……………………………

To Martha’s surprise, nothing had come of the ‘rose’ incident; in fact Lisa had seemed relatively cheerful since she had returned from the bathroom. But that may have had something to do with the fact that Jack had been constantly fussing over her from the second she had sat back down.

In some ways he seemed awfully out of character. Not that Martha minded, at least it gave her a get out of jail free card where the rose was concerned.

Now 30 minutes had come and gone, and Martha was currently sat on the comfy chairs in the far corner, watching from a distance as Jack and Lisa dance together to the music.

She took a large gulp of her second glass of wine; her face frowning in annoyance at how close they were; any closer and they’d be in serious need of some privacy.

As her vision focused on the happy couple, she caught Jacks eye-line. Quickly she turned away, placing her full attention onto her drink. But it was no use; she was drawn to him like a moth to a flame.

Every so often she found her eyes flicking back up to Jack when she sensed he was watching her. She couldn’t seem to help the hot flush she would get when he looked at her with those deep brown eyes.

Because of all the people in the bar, Lisa included, it was obvious that Martha was the only real thing on his mind …why else would he keep staring at her!?

What came next however, was least than amusing for Martha; as Lisa soon caught on to Jacks distracted mind, and found the only cure for it, was by sticking her tongue down his throat.

Martha scowled as she watched them kiss; her lips curling into a formation of disgust, and her eyes dark and fiery. There weren’t many things in life that Martha couldn’t stand, but this was definitely one of them. The combination of seeing Jack kissing anyone sickened her to her stomach, but her own best friend! This was just revolting!

Well, there was only one thing for it; she’d just have to interrupt them!

Placing her glass down onto the table, she took to her feet. Straightening her clothes, she did her best to walk in a straight line…

Coming to there side, she scrunched up her face, “God it’s like porn or something” she muttered under her breath as she watched their glued mouths getting a good work-out.

“Jack” she spoke aloud, her face smiling as he peeled himself away from Lisa to look at her. “I’m bored!” she began, “I want to go!”

It was Lisa that was first to reply. “Yeah well, were dancing at the moment, why don’t you go and find someone to dance with” she suggested, “Ooo, that guys cute” she grinned, indicating towards the cute blonde in the far corner.

“Ugh, no thanks” she scrunched up her face, “I’m going! Are you coming or not!?”

She didn’t know where this spiteful and slightly callous attitude of hers had come from, but she was pissed, so that was a good enough excuse.

Pissed off at the annoying display of affection she had been forced to witness, and pissed because she had gulped down 2 large glasses of wine…

With her final sentence spoken, she spun on her heel, crashing into a few people as she went, before stomping her way out of the exit…

“Oh gosh, I should go…” he sighed as he signalled to Martha leaving.

“Yeah, ok, but tell her to chill out yeah. If her exams are the real reason she’s even acting this way, she might want to calm down a bit, she needs a reality check, before she looses all of her friends” Lisa said in sadness.

“Yeah, I will … good night”.

Placing a light kiss on her lips, he made his way to find Martha…

Preview: Enough is enough, as Jack tells Martha exactly how it is! But will it do any good? Will Martha’s stubbornness continue to get the better of her? Resulting in Jack moving out ... Or will Jacks words give Martha the reality check she deserves?

Martha's attitude towards Jack is really childish I mean....she's the one who pushed Jack away so hopefully when Jack tells her how it is she will finally come to her god freaking senses and tell him how she feels about him god...

Martha needs to grow up, she's just pushing Jack away

Dont move out Jacky...
