PART 18 “Morning.” Amy and Nic look at Chris sympathetically when he enters the studio. “We didn’t expect you to come to the meeting…” Chris shakes his head. “I want to know what they decide about her… And I need to keep busy…” Amy strokes over Hayden (who is lying asleep in Chris’ arms sympathetically). Chris looks up at her, his eyes dark. “If Kate dies… then he’d have lost two parents before the age of one.” Amy frowns. “Chris, Kate isn’t going to die.” “You don’t know that.” Amy looks at Chris seriously. “You can’t give up on her, Chris. She’ll fight this. I know that.” Chris shakes his head, looking at the roof. “I can’t stay positive, Amy. Every time I close my eyes, I see her lying there so helplessly…” Nic looks at his friend sympathetically. “Look mate, I know this is hard on you… but you have to keep believing that she’ll wake up.” Chris shakes his head. “I’m trying…” They all look up when Scott comes in, followed by John Holmes and Cameron Welsh. Chris looks at them seriously. Scott sits down next to him. “How are you doing mate?” Chris shakes his head. “I’d give anything to trade places with her, Scott. Anything.” “I know you would, mate.” Chris looks up at John and Cameron. “So…” John looks at Chris and the rest of the cast seriously. “I know you all love Kate… And we care about her too…” Chris looks back at John, his face white. “If you’re dropping her, I’m walking out.” “Mate…” Nic stands up. “So am I.” “Me too.” Jessica stands up, followed by Amy, Rhys, Paul, Jon, Indiana, Sharni, Mark, Ada, Tim and Ray. John looks at the cast with a sigh. “Guys, I understand how you all feel. I honestly do. But think about this! We have to write her out, she’s not exactly going to walk in and start filming now!” Nic looks at John, slightly disgusted. “So she’s getting fired because she got shot?” John closes his eyes for a second, taking deep breaths. “It’s not like I have a choice.” Indi lifts a brow. “Easy – write her out until she wakes up.” “What if she doesn’t?” Nic bites his lip, looking tense. “She will. She has to.” Dr. Kevin Michaels looks at Kate seriously. “You are going to wake up… There’s a bloke out there called Chris and he’s waiting for you… Like I’ve never seen anyone wait before.” He takes one last look at her before leaving. The few people in the staff room look up when he enters and he shakes his head. “Still nothing. But she’ll wake up.” A nurse sitting nearby, Trish, looks up at him with a frown. “How can you be so sure?” Kevin shrugs. “I don’t know. I just really believe that she’ll wake up… Sooner or later.” Chris immediately grabs his phone when it starts ringing. “Chris Sadrinna!” “Mr. Sadrinna… Dr. Kevin Michaels here…” “Yes?” “Kate just woke up…” Chris closes his eyes. “I’m on my way.” “Jodi? Paul and Rhys are here to see you…” Jodi looks at Becky with a frown. “He brought Rhys too?.” Becky nods. “Yeah. He said something about cheering him up…” “Okay…” She stands up and walks out, followed by Becky. Jodi leans closer to Paul, kissing him on his cheek. “Come with me…” Rhys sits down next to Becky, while Paul and Jodi slowly walk off. He looks at her with a small smile. “Great about Kate waking up, huh?” Becky nods distractedly and Rhys frowns. “What?” “What what?” Rhys laughs and looks at her intently. “When I said that it was great about Kate… there was something in your eyes…” Becky sighs. “I’m just worried about how this will affect Paul and Jodi.” “Why would Kate waking up affect them?” Becky bites her lip. “Forget that I mentioned it.” Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
