I couldn't exactly remember the exact steps but, so I made a new “immitation” of the colouring. This tutorial, might not work with every pic, but play around with the settings or opacity and it will. Also, caps, and stills may not work out to be the best, but other pics would most likely work. Okay...so we will be going from this to this. 1.Grab your base, crop/resize. 2.Sharpen the picture once (more if needed). Only smoothen out parts if you really need to. I didn't. 3.Duplicate your base. Set to screen. Depending on your base, reduce the opacity, or add another screen layer. I reduced my opacity to 70%. You will most likely need to edit this layer at the end anyway. 4.Add a new layer. Fill with #0072BC, set to soft light, 80%. 5.Add another new layer. Fill with #2E3192, set to soft light, 50%. 6.Add a new Selective Colour adjustment layer. Put in the following settings: Reds Cyan: -100 Yellow: +100 Black: +30 Yellows Cyan: -100 Magenta: -100 Yellow: +100 Black: +100 Cyans Cyan: +100 Magenta: +100 Yellow: -100 Blues Cyan: +20 Magenta: +20 Yellow: -20 Black: +100 Magentas Cyan: -100 Yellow: +100 Black: +100 Neutrals Cyan: +12 Magenta: -10 Yellow: -20 Black: +11 7.Add a new Hue/Saturation adjustment layer. Put in the following settings and play around with them: Hue: +5 Saturation: +40 Lightness: +5 Set its Opacity to 80%. 8.Select >All, then go to Edit >Copy Merged. Then go Edit >Paste. Set that layer to Soft Light. Reduce the opacity, or leave it as it is. And you're done! Now you can add any finishing touches as you wish! Please don't be shy, I can help with anything! I don't bite. TUTORIAL #2 Here's another tutorial, and we will be going from this to this. Play around with the settings and opacities, if you really need to. And remember the effect will work differently on every pic. And the pic may need to be a little bit desaturated if its not, coz then the effect wont work well. Now lets get to it. 1.Grab your base. Crop/Resize anyway you like. 2.Duplicate your base and set to screen, 30%. 3.Add a new layer. Fill with #77A0CF. Set it to Soft Light. 4.Add a new Hue/Saturation adjustment layer. Up the saturation to somewhere between 25-50. 5.Duplicate the Hue/Saturation layer and set to soft light. 6.Now go back to the starting base and sharpen it. And you're done! Does anyone just have some simple tips, like, not telling you what to do or how to use it, but something simple like, I think ~Emily~ stated in her tutorial that çentre crops were ugly' or something like that, just easy tips that would make such a difference to avatars...? Sharpen image, then go over her skin with a blur tool to make her skin even smoother. 3. New layer. Go over her lips with a small brush (Set hardness to something like 75%) and color them with for example #ef0033 Set layer to Color, Opacity 100% 4. New layer. Go over the blue in her eyes with a small brush (75% hardness) and color with for example #0b00ef Set layer to Color, Opacity 100% 5. New adjustment layer>>Brightness/Contrast Brightness: -27 Contrast: +41 6. New adjustent layer>>Solid color Color: #0903fe Set layer to Screen, Opacity 80% 7. New adjustment layer>>Solid color Color: #c3da04 Set layer to Overlay, Opacity 80% 8. New adjustment layer>>Solid color Color: #000000 (black) Set layer to Lighten, Opacity 100% 9. New adjustment layer>>Solid color Color: #1501a9 Set layer to Screen, Opacity 20% 10. Set your color to #0101fd and go to New Adjustment layer>>Gradient Then your gradient color should be the same blue color you just chose. Set the gardient settings to this: Style: Linear Angle: 135’ Scale: 100 11. Set the gradient layer to Overlay, Opacity 100% 12. New layer. Ctrl+A. Edit>>Stroke. Choose black, and set to 1 pixel. Ive written it up at my LJ, but I just wanted to say that its not my original colouring. Its from another tut that I modified to suit some of the caps I have.
