I really just don't get the hype of Charlie & Ruby at all!!! IMO I just think they are both characters who have a lot of flaws and can be selfish at times. (Ruby more than Charlie) I feel Ruby is more of an annoyance than Charlie as well. Her character has done backflips from an interesting and ultimately nice character to downright selfish and bratty and she has really started to grate on my nerves over the past 6 months or so. Charlie irritates me at times as well , I never thought that she would go back to Angelo after all the water thats passed under that bridge with him killing Jack and basically ruined a lot of lives but sadly she did. Then she had a one night stand while he was dating somebody else which I would never have thought she would do either. Charlie was my fave this time last year but now she is at the other end of the spectrum entirely! Esther Anderson isn't the strongest actress either and I think that Charlie could generally improve as a character with some more experience. Maybe we will see another example of Jodi Gordon's transformation of her dreadul acting upon her arrival to a great actress after a couple of years! They are both quite popular characters amongst people but then again a lot of selfish characters have great fan bases ie Belle. It just makes me wonder how people like the features in people. But then again they are just not my cup of tea and for someone else they could be the most amazing characters ever, same as how I love some characters and others would think they are horrible. People have different tastes and I suppose thats what makes the world go round. I cant wait for . I hope Ruby goes running back to Xavier and he tells her where to go! She deserves nothing more for her selfishness really! I can predict her running back to Xavier when I wonder what 2010 will bring for Ruby & Charlie, well I expect some more selfishness from them , or maybe they can prove me wrong and redeem themselves as not so bad after all.

So I think that after loving her through the 2nd half of 2008 and her annoying me in the middle of 2009 I can safely say that I love her so much again! I think shes just such a pleasure to watch, especially when shes happy (which happens very rarely). She is a very sweet character and is definitely one of my single faves on the show at the moment and her relationship with Jack through all their ups and downs over the years was just the most beautiful thing ever (God I sound like a girl ) After Jack died for once on her time in H&A she became just Martha and was no longer one half of a super couple and it was nice to see her progress as a character on her own. Then I loved to watch her friendship grow with Hugo over the last year as it grew slowly and eventually became a good couple which I never ever expected. I thought it was written well how she moved on from Jack especially how she struggled with her feelings for Hugo and hated herself for it until she realised that Jack would want her to follow her heart and be happy and I am proud of her for that. Martha then made such a real and beautiful relationship that she formed with Bambang! It just shows how much of a great mother she will make when she does finally get the chance to have her own child and be happy. I wish she and Jack just got to have a child together

Yeah I think its just a travesty , and I'm not the only one because the BBC have accused ITV of fixing it. At the awards Corrie had the most coverage in regard to promos and highlights which is very strange because barely nothing has happened the last year in contrast to Eastenders and Emmerdale, also how Corrie can get more coverage of upcoming stuff is beyond me seeing as how exciting Eastenders is at the moment with the upcoming 25th anniversary celebrations. Complete injustice if you ask me anyway because I have never seen such cr*p being churned out day after day on Corrie!!

But sometimes Aden acts like he is above Liam because hes never done anything wrong , thats hypocrisy at its best and tries to think hes better than him when really Liam hasn't done anything nearly as bad as Aden has. I know people will disagree with me but Liam in contrast to Aden is a nice decent human being. Maybe its only because people haven't taken to Liam yet but I bet someday they will.

So Corrie won best serial drama at the NTA's which is a complete farce!! Eastenders so deserved it and even if Eastenders didn't get it I think Emmerdale deserved it better than Corrie did. It has been the most dreadful year ever with some of the most ridiculous and forgettable storylines.

I think I'm watching the same show as Red ranger is From Adens first proper stint (2007 onwards) he has been nothing but a jerk to be brutally honest. He treated absolutely everybpdy with sheer disrespect and when I think of Aden the words that come to mind is bully and hypocrite. He bullied Geoff endlessly , he made Irene grovel just so he wouldn't sue her , he got Tam drunk and tried it on with her (something that I found completely strange seeing as suddenly in 2008 he couldn't handle any sexual contact with anyone) , he treated Morag like crap when she tried to help him, not forgetting his disgusting treatment of Cassie after her HIV diagnosis and the list just goes on. Fair enough Belle may have made him a tiny bit less of a jerk but the truth is he hasn't changed much. To say that Nicole has changed his character is complete nonsense. I actually can't believe people are accusing Nicole of not being sensitive enough at the formal. She wanted to dance , he wanted to dance , its not her fault at all. How was she supposed to know he would freak out about Belle because they danced together the year before. What happens when he remembers everything else that he and Belle did , oh I know maybe he should write Nicole a list of all the things that they shouldn't do because it reminds him of Belle ie kiss,dance,hug,get married,play in the sea,lie down together. He treats Liam as if he has just come down from the heavens himself and he is whiter than white. But the truth is he is far from it and most of the things he accuses Liam of he hasn't got a leg to stand on. Maybe he resents Liam because he was there for Belle during her drug addiction , and when Liam began to get closer to Nicole maybe Aden saw it as Liam trying to take another of his friends/girlfriends away from him and couldn't handle it. Also Aden isn't a stranger to second chances , as a matter of fact hes got a couple of them in his short time on the show but he can easily deny Liam of one because obviously Aden is just a model citizen of course and can do no wrong. I couldn't agree more with you RR when you say how much more likeable Aden is when hes been laid back and comfortable at the end of the 2009 season but by no means does the sun shine out of Aden's rear end like some people seem to think , one word to describe Aden - Overrated.

Well yeah they are at the same speed I believe , it airs on TV3 and E4 , with TV3 being the Irish channel but we also get E4 over here in Ireland so I guess it just depends on what channel we watch it on.

Yeah she really p**sed me off in tonights episode as well. She is treating Glenda so unfairly and really I just think she is jealous that she is Ronnie & Roxys mother. Oh you can tell she hates that Roxy now owns the Vic and to be honest I did feel quite sorry for her. I am so over Bradley and Stacey! I just wish i9t would hurry up and his exit would play out. They have ruined them as a couple way too much for me to like them. First he forced an abortion on her, then he threw it back in her face saying the reason he made her have an abortion is because he couldn't bare the idea of raising a child with her. Then she has an affair which developed into love with his father and we all know what this lead to.Then after ages and ages of being apart they finally reunited but after a few months back together she went chasing after the first bit of sex she could get with Callum and now suddenly there all such a perfect love story. Really they should have just decided enough was enough because shes too selfish to have a proper relationship she wants everything and and anything. I do like Stacey now though because shes come past a lot of stuff but really I am just not feeling the whole Bradley/Stacey love....

I think the best example of this was the extremely controversial killing off of Danielle Jones in Eastenders after months and months of not telling Ronnie that she was her daughter then when Ronnie got what shes wanted for almost 20 years it was cruelly ripped away from her. This storyline had such a huge massive following wanting a happy ever after but the writers decided the best way and we need to trust their judgement!

No that's not why "I" am angry. Yeah sure Adelle in my eyes deserved a happy ending ... sure I didn't exactly want Belle to die. But I have accepted this, I accept that one day adelle would disappear from our screens. What angers and disappoints me the most is the fact they have done a backflip and ruined all this great writing they have done. With Aden's abusive past for example. They have disregarded the importance of what Belle meant to him.....I truly believe (this is only my opinion) I believe that a person like Aden, for what he has gone through as a person, wouldn't move on so quickly, this is what makes me mad, because this to me shows a lot of disrespect, it says to me that Aden isn't valuing their relationship enough, and the importance of his wife. Belle had a great impact on him as a person, the very least he could do would be to show proper respect to her. I don't know how to explain or defend myself here, because people don't seem to understand my persepctive of the story writing. But the bottom line is - that as an adelle fan I don't want to see Aden having feelings for someone in three freakin months and I want the writers to be aware of how much disrespect they have shown towards some people/supporters. Yes the writers job is to provoke a reaction, but this could provoke some fans to feel hatred, anger, negative emotions towards the writers. Is this something they want to achieve? Or do they want the audience to be satafied with their writing? They have a choice, they decide the future of the characters. If the writers did everything that the audience wanted then it would be a very very boring show! and besides just because you don't believe Aden would move on after 3 months doesn't mean that he would. You don't know everything about him , and even so in real life if you've known a person for years and years they are still highly capable of doing something you didn't expect them to even though you may know them well. I don't think the writers did a backflip.... yes Belle means a lot to Aden and she always will the writers aren't denying that or trying to play it down. But the sad fact is Belle is dead and even though Aden will love her forever he will need to find some comfort and companionship with someone else. Yes its 3 months after Belle's death but who are we to decide that Aden isn't ready to have another relationship , its up to him and whatever he decides its up to him. You may argue the writers chose this route but if we we're to argue about all the decisions we don't agree with then we would be here all night.

Yeah I agree with most of this. As you said the 'big couples' always get the biggest dramas and usually they like to write one half of a big couple out with a lot of drama when they leave the show.Viewers will remember Belle for her heartbreaking death from cancer as they will remember Jack's shock shooting death because they we're both very sensational storylines and that is what makes us remember them so well. Its the same I think when one half of a couple dies a lot of viewers feel actually like they are also grieving for a couple they have loved for so long and this is what also makes them so reminiscent of their favourite couple who came to an end tragically. Interestingly you mentioned that we don't really remember those couples that bowed out of the show happily and when we think of happy endings Mattie and Ric come to mind.But there have been so many others that have actually got a happy ending and because their happy exits we're such non events/low key we don't tend to remember them.Thats not saying that we forget all happy endings because we dont , some simple happy endings can also be the most memorable. You reminded how they ruined KK this year and it just adds to the list of the couples that weren't to be that ended in 2009 Everyone wants their favourite couple to have a happy ending really and I think the reason why some Adelle fans are so annoyed about Naden is simply because Belle is dead and Nicole isn't and Adelle didn't get their happy ending and are directing their anger at Belle's death at Naden/Nicole. If it happens that they don't actually end up in a relationship then I will be very annoyed at the writers, though not because I want Naden to be together so much but for the fact that the writers have been building it up to be quite a deep thing and then just end up p***ing all over it and having it not as deep as they once set it out to be. Its like going back over what they've done and decided they didn't mean it to be as deep so they changed it. I am propably not making a whole lot of sense but oh well

Yeah I noticed she looks a bit older as well. I never really liked her as Grace in Emmerdale though , anything with Carl King bores me to death Anyway I have a feeling I am gona love Glenda! It is so interesting after all the Mitchells have been through to have her come in now , theres so much she has missed out on and Ronnie & Roxy don't look like they are gona thaw towards her anytime soon. Its quite funny how Roxy always loved Archie no matter what he did yet she was the first to show Glenda the door and then we have Ronnie who was mummys girl and understands better than anyone how Archie's controlling behaviour can affect someone. But aside from the fact that she left them she also never came looking for them which is where their real problem lies. Now she comes out of the woodwork claiming to be still married to Archie and thinks she is entitled to everything. I can see some real chemistry between Ronnie and Glenda which is fantastic! I felt so sorry for Ronnie when Glenda kept asking about her grandchild that Ronnie was pregnant with when she walked out on them all but Ronnie couldn't bring herself to tell her what happened. I really hoped we would see her tell her everything about Danielle last night but I suppose they will propably tell her that offscreen We can see how bad she can be when she called Peggy Tweety How long will it be till Glenda ends up in bed with Jack ? Because if your blonde and a Mitchell then you will end up in his bed. The only reason he never got Danielle into bed was because he never got the chance Looking forward to seeing some more of Glenda

Well I have read some more on how they do this... ^^Some of the details are a bit foggy but thats what I read anyway.

What I don't understand is why they didn't try and get Jess Tovey to stay on for a while longer or for Todd Lasance to leave earlier than he intended to so that they got a happy ending because lets face it we are due a happy ending. Surely Todd knew that he was planning on leaving ? and I am sure when Jess announced she was leaving he would've said he is feeling the same. They could have just set off to another country after finding out she is pregnant or something like that. I can't tell you how happy I would be if that happened and I was a huge Adelle fan because if it happened to JM then I would have been over the moon Or they could have easily had Belle leave the bay and break up with Aden and then by the time it came for Aden's exit I'm sure they could have gotten Jess to come back and film a scene where she comes back to the bay and tells Aden she forgot to bring him with her. That would have been a nice ending. Do you guys maybe think that Naden ends up being a Brad/Sally kind of a thing ? Maybe they date for a few months and Aden still struggles to commit properly and just takes off.... I wonder how else he would just leave the bay ? Uni maybe ? Could be a Ric/Mattie kinda thing without the happy ending... In regards to your post Steph about which fans they are pleasing I don't neccesarily think its much of a factor if any to be honest when writing a storyline and the outcome of a relationship. Well I know sometimes they may like to give a certain couple a happy ending but in regards to the whole Niff/Adelle/Naden saga I don't think they really planned on the Naden fans being of benefit. Anyway none of the above couples will have benefited from the outcome because , Belle's dead & Aden I really wish one of my couples could get a happy ending In 2009 we have seen the end of Jack & Martha, Aden & Belle , Geoff and Nicole - all the big 3 relationships at the end of 2008!! Now we are just stuck with Nicole & Aden, Tony & Rachel and Charlie & Angelo, oh and Annie & Romeo In terms of couples I really don't want to get too involved in any of the new relationships that happen on the show because I am always left to pick up the pieces of the miserable outcome as do many many other fans. Then again thats how TV shows like H&A work but still it would be nice for one of the big long lasting couples to not die or break up Anyway I am really interested to see what they have in store for Naden these next couple of months and to see how everything all pans out....

I have watched Eastenders by downloading episodes to see what its like. I gave it a good few months but I just cant get into the flow of it, there aren't enough 'sentimental' or upbeat scenes in it at all which stops you from really caring for the characters. However, I do remember seeing some clips from the early years and it seemed very 'real' and there were loads of poignant scenes or people just talking to each other, I saw one with Lou and Ian Beale and Ian was crying to his gran about his father not respecting him or something, anyway I was impressed because it was like a 4-5 min scene of them just talking with real 'cockney' slang and stuff, it was great! I know how you mean that you can't get into the flow of it , I think the reason for that is because there is so much history gone by that I and everyone else whos watched for years and you haven't. I guess its the same reason why I just cannot get into Neighbours because I have tried a couple of times and just can't get into it. Its what I love about H&A too that theres such a rich history to the show which is the same more or less with every long running drama. I watched the Kat & Zoe reveal from 2000 of Eastenders last night and it is one amazing script. I really wish the Ruby/Charlie reveal from H&A was as good. The writing in the Eastenders episode was so perfect and I reccomend anyone who hasn't seen it to have a look.
