I know I'm kind of going against what I was complaining about earlier but thinking about it, I think most characters who've been pregnant in the show haven't had problems or issues around it until the very last couple of months or so. Kit for example didn't come into the show until she was 6 months pregnant so I think there's still plenty of time for Rachel to have some focus on the baby I think it's good that they've focused on Tony's grief for losing Jack, it was needed and they've kept it so realistic how Tony keeps going back into his little depressive modes because when you lose someone you love, especially a child, you don't just wake up one day and are over it. Having Angelo back is just a constant reminder to Tony of how no-one's been punished for Jack's death and Angelos got away with murder (which is exactly what happened when his first wife died)

I agree with you Symphony and Kirsty in what you're saying about Rachel. It's getting a bit tiring now watching Tony keep going off on his own and having Rachel worrying about him whilst also being heavily pregnant and unable to focus on their baby or how the pregnancy is affecting her. It's been this way for pretty much the whole year now and whilst I was really enjoying it at first, watching Tony get the attention he deserved, it's getting a bit repetitive now and I think we need to see Tony worrying about Rachel or at least showing more of an interest!

Bony! Where on earth did you get that nickname from Char I agree with you though, I'm not just saying this as a Tachel fan but I do believe the best thing they ever did for Tony's character was pair him up with Rachel because ever since they have, his screentime and popularity has increased by a lot and there's been a lot more they can do with his character. In fact, this year, I think he's had more storylines than Rachel I never even noticed Tony when he was with Beth because they just never did anything, all he ever did was comfort her when something bad happened and he was much more her 'handbag' than Rachel's which some people have mentioned.

Aww Kirsty that was so amazing, I'm glad it didn't have any drama, I think I needed an emotional break after the last two chapters! I absolutely loved the Leah/Rachel chat, it was so funny and is something that is so true to best friends, talking about sex like that haha. Everything was so true to their characters and it was sweet how Rachel's starting to get nervous about the birth and how Leah tried to quickly change the subject about the pain!! Poor Rachel has no idea hehe. One other thing I really liked was how Rachel didn't want to have drugs, that's a true representation of the majority of people who work with childbirth so very consistent of you there I like the Leah/Hugo pairing, I wonder what Tony's going to say about it, it's weird to think his nephew is sleeping with his wife's best friend! If Hugo wasn't being so suspicious in the show, I think I'd like them to be together, from the way you write them. I feel sooo much for Martha, the poor girl feels like she has nothing left to live for I love that you've kept her grieving process consistent and how when you first started this fic she appeared to be coping but it's all fake and you're now showing her true feelings and the dark side of grief. Tony's such a sweetheart He's like the perfect husband, planning surprises for her and making a candle-lit dinner for her and telling her she's still sexy even though she knows he's lying aww. I'm intrigued what it is he's planning for her, something that he's been thinking about for a while?? Hmm..... Nope no idea, guess you're gonna have to update quickly I really hope Rachel likes it. I can't wait to see their conversation, how Rachel reacts to the news and what Tony thinks of Leah and Hugo I also liked the little Tachel mush, how they're still in honeymoon mode awwww. Update soon pleeeeeease.

Thank you for the extra spoilers Dan

Wohooo one more night, I'm holding you to it Although I should probably be encouraging you to finish your dissertation....nah Tachel's much more fun

I'm so jealous of you Barbara, I loved when Tachel first got together, all their scenes together were just so awkward and they both had huge smiles on their faces when they saw each other plus Tony played the nerves so well, I felt nervous for him! I guess I have youtube but it's not the same! The quality of the eps back then are pretty bad on youtube The above quote was mentioned by EdwardSkylover in Aus discussion and so I thought I'd mention it in here to see what everyone elses thoughts are? Personally, I never saw Tony and Rachel as being paired together just because they were both single. Despite his flings with Naomi and Jazz, Tony was single for over 7 months before he was put into his first serious relationship which I think was with Rachel. Rachel also had the option of Roman as well so it's not like they were both the only candidates for each other. If you think about it, Rachel and Tony were friends way before they got together, neither was introduced as a character just for the purpose of being cast as a love interest for the other. Even though we didn't get to see much of it, there were mentions of Rachel and Tony helping each other through their respectives losses about 6 months before they had a romantic interest in each other with their movie nights and Rachel supported Tony when Jack was shot. I think the writers built their relationship up beautifully, with them growing closer as friends first and then in a dramatic situation where Rachel was kidnapped by Rev Hall and Tony became her support, that's when they fell in love. In terms of them having chemistry, that's obviously a personal point of view which can't be changed, some don't see chemistry which is fine, others do like me. They're a very touchy feely couple and I think that makes it so much more realistic. It's interesting what you said about after having Kim, Rachel shouldn't have been attracted to Tony but I actually think that she wanted Kim to be everything that Tony actually is. She wanted Kim to be more mature which Tony is, she wanted to have a family with Kim and Tony I think is the definition of a family man out of all the characters in H&A at the present. I think the reason Kachel's relationship failed is because ultimately they weren't right for each other and Kim wasn't the husband Rachel wanted and vice versa. I personally feel Rachel's become more grounded since being paired with Tony, I think Kim was her bit of fun but Tony's the sort of man that Rachel should be with in terms of love and marriage and a family.

I agree Karen. It's only actually since the beginning of last year that I believe Tony's become more of a relevant character and had storylines which focus around just him rather than him supporting someone else, such as Jack's death (which have given him storylines all throughout the year so far) and his relationship with Rachel. I never really noticed his character when he was with Beth because I always saw him as just her support and it seemed he was only ever brought onto a scene when she needed someone to talk to other than her children. Now I believe he's a character in his own right and as I said in aus discussion, there's so much more they can do with him. He's a husband, he's about to be a father again (which can create so many new storylines for him) and I'm hoping we'll see more of his teacher role like Karen mentioned with Aden joining his football team and I to would like to see him teaching back at the school. (It's all Brad's fault!) It would get rid of Tachel's constant gym scenes at least They've also extended his family and highlighted his seemingly close relationship with his sister Gina and there's a lot from his past which we don't know about, meaning there's a lot they can bring up and do with Tony. I only think a character's "time is up" as you put it, happens when they've had constant focus for a long time with loads of different storylines and it gets to the point where they can't actually do anything more with the character, without contradicting what's already been told. This is definetely not the case with Tony, there's so much more they can explore and he can still be a father figure, in the literal sense and symbolically, with character's like Aden, Geoff and Annie.

Hi Libby! Welcome to the Tachel gang, you're thinking like us already with the Tony and the coffee moment hehe Hopefully we'll have something to talk about Tachel wise soon, there's not really a lot going on with them at the moment! All Rachel's done this year is worry about Tony and apart from the wedding, Tony's spent the whole time depressed (understandably of course) I'm hoping something will happen soon!

Oh god! I hate that show.... Too much drama, so many hook ups, someone is always kisses another guy/girl, sleeping with an ex. It's too much!! Yeah, well, it (sometimes) sounds like H&A. And a few characters in particular. Hmm. Haha I agree with you. I think that IS Adelle's whole relationship defined isnt it? I have to say that since Belle's come out of rehab and has started being more independent I've been enjoying her scenes more, whereas I used to have to fast forward them.

It's amazing how different people perceive things. I think there's been hardly any focus on Rachel's pregnancy at all and in the (supposed) six months she's been pregnant (which just to reiterate means she has 3 months left, so due end of July/August) Rachel's hardly mentioned the baby apart from necessary times such as because of ultrasounds and when the baby's kicking. Most of the time other people have brought up the topic of the baby, like when Leah started mentioning "mini me" in Tuesday's ep..aww Of course I'd like there to be more focus on the pregnancy, but I think Tony has been as involved as he could be, considering the difficulties he's probably going through from losing his son. He was absolutely amazed at the ultrasound and despite Rachel not expecting him to be there he ASKED to go, despite his pain at losing Jack, when he heard the baby had it's first kick and then felt it himself he said "wow isn't that amazing...it's beautiful," he bought all of the baby stuff and has started doing up the nursery, he couldn't keep his hands off of the bump at their wedding. These are just some examples which I think proves that Tony is excited about the baby and looking forward to being a Daddy. It's just unfortunate that a lot of Rachel's pregnancy has been overshadowed by Jack's death and then Angelo's return, making it difficult for Tony to focus on anything else.

There isn't any medication against morning sickness. Some women get it all through their pregnancy but most just suffer during the first trimester (the first 4 months) so it's unlikely she'd be suffering that anymore anyway, I guess we saw a bit the day she found out she was pregnant. But I agree that I'd like to see more pregnancy problems, I guess they're trying to get this Angelo issue dealt with at the minute, Tony seems to have moved on today so I've been told
-
I still can't see it because of the problems with Diwana Sounds sweet though, it's tough on both of them at the minute. It must be difficult for Tony to see Angelo around the Bay but I do feel sorry for Rachel as well, having to be the strong one again and worrying about him when she's so far into her pregnancy. Would you be able to let me know exactly what happened in today's?? I don't know if it's allowed in here, if not could you PM me please?
-
Haha maybe, if so, poor Rachel!
-
If were going by Rachel saying she's about 4 months at the end of Feb, she should technically be due at the end of July....if all goes to plan, which it seems to be. I think she looked ready to deliver in February Everytime I think the bump can't possibly get any bigger it always does! I'm so excited for the little bubs

Oh wow Kirsty this chapter was sooo good (as usual!) Loved the extended Tachel chapter, I loved that they were getting a bit carried away with each other while Jimmy's going silently mad they're acting exactly like a newlywed couple and it's so sweet. I loved how Tony was being the supportive, comforting, perfect husband whilst Rachel was being her typical self and putting others first. It was nice the way Tony showed some anger towards her, it can't be easy for him to see her being so nice after what Jimmy did. You describe things so well that I could picture exactly what was happening all the way through and the thoughts and feelings of the characters are so well portrayed. The Tachel fluff was so beautiful My two favourite lines were "I'm kind of more concerned about my pregnant wife" and "After this I just want to curl up with you and make it all go away " Oh and of course "I really love you so much!" and "I love you too, more than I've ever loved anyone" Awww smooth talker Tony haha. I also really enjoyed the Leah/Martha stuff. It's nice to see Martha has a friend and I think Leah's a good person to help her through the grief seeing as she's experienced the same thing. I guess Leah had VJ to pull her through though, poor Martha has nothing It's so sad the way you've described her pain. Kim. Good boy for going back to Kit. You both deserve each other. (Who said that? Hehe) It's quite sad he's kept a picture of him and Rachel all this time, good thing Kit didn't find that! More more more Kirsty, you're such an awesome writer

I totally agree with you. I like Geoff because he's one of the more real characters - with some of the others they always find a way of making them look like perfect characters who can do no wrong but with Geoff he's young and has had a sheltered background so it makes sense he would be so judgemental. He's trying to work out what's right or wrong based on his own beliefs rather than what he's been told by his Grandfather and of course sometimes he's going to get it wrong but don't we all? He always realises when he's done wrong and learns from it. He's also really protective of Annie so what happened with Belle did worry him because of the influence on Annie. I'm not saying he was perfect in the way he reacted but I understand why he did.

You're right, Elaine is a really old fashioned name for a baby in this age. I love the name Ellie but it might be too close to Tasha's baby Ella? They couldn't call it Jack if it was a boy, it'd be like replacing him, maybe a middle name though. Imagine Tony telling people his kids names "Jack Jack and Lucas" Now that we know is happening next week, I wonder if it could have anything to do with Rachel not believing Hugo's shark story and maybe Tony doesn't like it that she's accusing him of lying?
-
Haha I thought you might know Karen, my Maths is awful!! I didn't notice it at the time but I went back and looked and Tony definetely looked annoyed at himself, I saw the head flick Nice subtle acting there Jon ;) I'm not keen on them naming their baby after Belle either, if they want her to have Belle as her middle name then I can live with that but not her first name.
-
I forgot until recently!!! It is good timing though what you said so who knows. Hayley named her baby after Noah. That's if Tachel do have a girl. I believe Jon is 42 years old, nearly 43 but I might be wrong, Karen? And I think Tony and Rachel are pretty much their own age (Jon and Amys) Rachel's meant to be 30 (at Leah's 30th Rachel said "welcome to 30" although Rachel was 28 when she joined the show and Amy was 26, bit of SORAS going on there I think) so there's about a 13 year old age difference I think. I've never thought the age difference between them is an issue either.
-
Belle's real name is Susan, she just calls herself Belle I think?
-
Tachel's bed was Hachel's bed That's so wrong hehe. I wouldn't worry too much Karen, I notice a lot of things I probably shouldn't to! Silly writers, us Tachel fans notice everything Like how their bedroom door opens the completely wrong way as well!
-
^^ I really really hope not but it's very H&A thing to do. Mind you I'd rather than call her Belle than her real name, Susan.
-
^^ Thank you for putting that up Karen I didn't realise, it must be one of the things Jack inherited when Sam died that then got passed to Tony So much for it being a brand spanking new family car!

So I take it that little conversation between Tachel today was Rachel worrying that Tony's not coping like he's making out like the mag scans said? I was expecting it to be a bigger deal than that but I guess it could continue next week. Poor Tony's ignoring his own pain about Angelo being back and just focusing and worrying about Martha. I liked that they hinted Tachel had been talking about it the night before, to show how Tony's opening up to Rachel this time but it's a shame we didn't see it I'd like to see how Tony's coping as well as Martha. That's one of the things I love about Tachel, the way they're affectionate with each other, it helps to make their relationship seem real and keeps it going. And I'm liking the car I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned, even as a passing reference!
