Kirby’s songwriting spirals. Remi makes a plan. Cash works his magic.

Extended Summary

Bree tells Remi he doesn’t have to walk her to and from work, pointing out that it’s Theo and Sonny that are at risk. Remi still wants to keep an eye on her. Justin comes along and asks Bree how Theo is but Bree says she can’t tell him. Justin has to tell Remi about being banned from Theo’s hospital room. Bree is reluctant to pass on a message. Remi says he’ll do it, so long as Justin takes over from him listening to Kirby’s new songs.

At the Lyrik house, Cash and Eden enter, with Eden insisting she can’t go away with Cash since she’s working the next two nights. Kirby asks them to keep it down and leave, since she’s working on the songs, so they head over to Cash’s place. Justin arrives and tells Kirby he’s there to help her, and promptly gets more questions about why he’s not with Theo.

Remi chats to Theo at the hospital, saying Sonny’s finally taking things seriously. He notices Theo can now get himself a drink of water, and the police guard. Theo still wants to know where Lacey is and thinks someone should ask Cash. Remi passes on Justin’s message that they’re giving him space but want to sort things out for when he comes home. Theo says he’s not going back to theirs, given they went behind his back over Sonny and Lacey.

Kirby is singing a song about “Dancing in the Stars” while Justin is half-listening whilst staring at his phone. Kirby tells him she needs genuine feedback, not distracted grunts. Justin thinks all her songs are good but Kirby thinks none of them are right. She goes to look for her song book while Justin sends another text to Remi.

At Salt, Mackenzie sympathises with Bree about fielding questions from Justin about Theo. Bree says it’s the problem of being a doctor in a small town. Mackenzie says Levi feels the same. Remi turns up and tells Bree about Theo not wanting to stay with Justin and Leah and how he’s not sure how to tell Justin. Bree says they can’t discharge Theo if he’s got nowhere to go.

Cash is in bed while Eden is getting dressed for work. Cash is still keen to go away, claiming he needs a breather before the court case. Eden says she has other commitments. Cash asks if she’ll go if he clears it with Mackenzie, and Eden wishes him luck with that. Once she’s gone, Cash purposefully throws off the covers.

Eden arrives at work and tells Mackenzie that Cash is going to ask her for time off and it’s not her idea and Mackenzie should feel free to say no. Mackenzie isn’t that bothered but, when Cash immediately comes in, says she’ll sort him. Cash says he really needs to talk to her, but not here. The two of them go outside where Cash explains he’s going to ask Eden to marry him. Mackenzie is delighted. Cash says he needs her help with something else.

At the Diner flat, Remi is contemplating organising a second motel room. Bree tells him not to burn through his money and suggests instead that Theo stay there. Remi doesn’t want her in danger but Bree explains that Theo and Sonny can stay there with the security guards while she stays with him. Remi agrees it’s a good idea.

Kirby is singing the song again while Justin can only offer rather flat praise. Kirby doesn’t think any of them are any good and admits she doesn’t think she’s good enough. Justin gets more and more frustrated, saying she has a fantastic opportunity and she should get some perspective given that Theo almost died. There is a long silence and Kirby walks out.

On the balcony at Salt, Mackenzie tells a bemused Eden that she has two days off. Cash, who is still waiting outside, calls up asking if Eden will run away with him now. Eden still says no and walks off. Cash tells Mackenzie he’s got it handled, while Mackenzie calls Levi. Cash heads home and runs into Remi and Bree. They tell him Theo’s asking about Lacey but Cash can’t give details, although he will try and reassure Theo. He is trying to get the court case fast-tracked so everyone can be safe. They tell him the plan to put Theo and Sonny up in the flat with security and Cash agrees it’s a good idea before saying he has something to run past them.

Remi and Bree visit Theo in hospital and find him doing his stretches. They explain the plan for Bree to move out of the flat and Theo, Sonny and the security to move in. Theo says it’s amazing and to tell Justin and Leah whatever they want. Meanwhile, Justin is repeatedly apologising to Kirby. Kirby admits that she feels guilty for abandoning Mali, for Remi’s investment and for taking up Justin’s time. She says she need an entire album of things she’s happy with. Remi arrives and Kirby excuses herself as Remi has to tell Justin that Theo’s not coming home, although he doesn’t say where he is going. Justin admits Kirby’s nerves are still getting the better of her. He leaves and Kirby returns. Remi asks if she wants to hear something cool.

Cash has got a phone call from Theo but stresses that he can’t tell anyone where Lacey is. He says she’s okay and the River Boys have stopped following him around. Eden turns up during the conversation. Cash convinces her to come on the trip, telling her to go home and pack since they’re leaving first thing in the morning. Cash goes and starts packing his clothes and retrieving the ring. Eden heads back over the road. She is surprised that Remi and Kirby already know she’s going away. Remi says Cash mentioned it when he was over there while Kirby points out that Cash and Eden were arguing about it earlier.

Next morning, Remi finds Kirby isn’t dressed and has been working on a song all night. She wants to give the trip a miss, saying she’s too tired. Remi says he’ll drive and she can sleep in the car, unplugging her keyboard and saying he’ll load up the van. Meanwhile, Cash and Eden pull up at Gary’s farm with Cash saying he wanted it to be a surprise. Gary comes out and acts surprised to see them. Once Eden’s out of earshot, Cash and Gary comment that she has no idea what’s coming.
