Extended Summary

Remi is walking near the beach. Cash, walking parallel to him, asks what they do now. He gets a phone call from Eden, which Remi suspects is her wanting Cash to come to the party. Cash says things must be serious for Levi to get involved. Remi points out Cash was the one who started avoiding him and says they should just play nice for Eden’s sake. When Cash pushes him, he says he doesn’t expect Cash and Eden to last long.

Tane is at the Newman house when Eden arrives and comments on him being back. Tane says Harper’s work have got her settled somewhere nice and she left him with a long list of things to do for the wedding. Eden says to tell Cash that it’s not good enough and she’s going to the party with or without him. Meanwhile, Roo finds Eliza still absorbed in the laptop. Eliza asks to use the printer and Roo agrees, but suggests Eliza come with her to the surf club to stretch her legs. Eliza wants to keep going. Roo suggests they meet there later for dinner. Eliza says whatever, then amends it to whatever Roo wants.

Bree and Sonny are setting up for the party. Eden arrives and admits she didn’t persuade Cash to come. Sonny pours her an expensive tequila, which she immediately drinks straight down. Theo arrives, followed by Remi. Sonny asks Theo how he wants his whiskey and he says usually with something fizzy. Bree follows Remi to his room where he admits he might have been too honest with Cash.

Cash arrives home and finds Tane there. Tane muses there’s three florists in Yabbie Creek, which Cash can’t help him pick between. Tane passes on Eden’s message. Cash admits that things aren’t sorted with Remi who thinks he and Eden are going to break up. Tane says it’s only Eden’s opinion that should matter.

Across the road, Sonny tries to interest Theo in the whiskey, which he wants to put ice in. Remi and Bree decide to switch to beer. Remi asks Eden if she wants him to go and talk to Cash but moments later Cash arrives. Sonny tells Theo he brings people together, while Cash tells Eden he didn’t see a reason to miss out on a party.

Alf and Roo are waiting outside the surf club. Alf concludes Eliza isn’t coming. Roo says people her age don’t answer the landline and she’ll get her a mobile phone. Alf isn’t keen on the idea but notes at least she’d have an alarm. Roo sees Tane and sends Alf on ahead while she approaches him, asking if his youth programme is still running. Tane says he has a new intake next week. Roo asks if he can include Eliza and he agrees.

Eliza is looking at printouts of surgical diagrams and pictures of instruments. Marilyn asks if she was meant to meeting Alf and Roo but doesn’t get an answer. She offers Eliza some of her veggie curry but Eliza says she eats meat. Alf arrives and asks why Eliza didn’t answer the phone. Eliza says she didn’t know who was calling. Roo arrives and takes over. Eliza says she got caught up in her research. Roo takes the laptop away until after dinner and asks Eliza if she wants pasta. She takes the silence as agreement and tells her to set the table.

Cash finds a man’s shirt in Eden’s room and jokingly asks if there’s something she wants to tell him. Eden says Sonny has been crashing in there but that stops now. They start kissing but Sonny drags them out, saying he needs Cash to partner Remi in beer bong against Bree and Theo. However, Remi announces he’s been called in to do session work: He’s mostly stopped doing it but it’s someone he owes a favour to who’s desperate. Eden checks he’s not doing a runner before saying there’ll be other parties.

Eliza finishes the washing up and virtually snatches the laptop off Marilyn, who decides to go to bed. Alf and Roo briefly chat about Eliza finding something she’s interested in, before Alf decides to go to bed too. He says good night to Eliza, who gives a simple “Bye” in return. Roo asks if Eliza is looking up the science subjects they discussed. Eliza says she’s looking at medical stuff, specifically videos of surgeries online. Roo declines to see, saying not everyone has the stomach for it, and says Eliza can have the laptop back tomorrow if she goes upstairs and rests now. Eliza takes her planner (containing the printouts) and gives Roo a hug, saying it’s been the best day.

Theo and Sonny finish a game of beer pong. Theo decides to leave, saying he wants an early start on his car. Bree offers to stay and keep Sonny company, asking how long he’s known Remi. Sonny says everyone knew everyone where they lived, then his parents lost their money and people spoke about them behind their back or turned away. His parents sold the house and moved away, leaving him lost, so Remi sold his motorbike and gave Sonny the money to go travelling. In the next room, Cash and Eden are lying on top of the bed. Cash says he’s lucky she forgave him. Eden says she did it because she loves him and checks he’s going to stay.

Next morning, Justin and Theo have just finished a surf and encounter Sonny. Theo does the introductions and admits he didn’t manage the early start he hoped for. Justin says he’ll open the garage and Sonny invites Theo to have breakfast with him, saying it’s on Remi. Justin declines to join them, saying he has to go to Yabbie Creek to pick up car parts.

Roo and Eliza arrive at the surf club. Eliza isn’t convinced the programme will help with anatomy and Roo tells her it shows how the human body works. Tane greets them and says it’s a self-defence programme with a focus on mindfulness. Eliza asks if his girlfriend will be there, calling her “the pregnant one”. Roo steps in, telling her that’s not appropriate. Tane moves aside to take a call from Harper, telling her he’ll ask “him”.

Cash and Eden are waking up together. Cash realises he has to get to work and gets dressed, but promises her that when he gets off shift, he’ll come back and spend the day in bed with her. He exits the room and is greeted by Remi and Bree, in a rather forced cheery manner in Remi’s case. Cash says if Remi’s waiting for the relationship to fail, he’ll be waiting a long time. Remi says he hopes so.

Theo and Sonny are up in Salt. Theo feels a bit odd having Remi pay when he’s not there, but Sonny says Remi wouldn’t have given him the card if he didn’t want him to use it. Theo says he took Sonny’s advice about getting cheap car parts online and it cost him more money. Sonny says there are ways to make more money without asking for handouts, explaining he has a side hustle.

Tane arrives home and tells Cash that Harper wants Cash to make a formal best man’s speech. Cash isn’t comfortable with the idea, saying he can’t make a speech about them being in love when he knows they’re not, and if that’s what Tane and Harper want, then he’s not the man for the job.
