Remi won’t be silenced. Tim strikes back against Cash. Nerida issues a threat.
Extended Summary
A makeshift Lyrik line-up consisting of Theo, Remi and Justin are performing in the back yard with Bree dancing along. Rose comes to the gate and, after making several unsuccessful attempts to get their attention, unplugs the sound. She tells them there’s been another noise complaint and warns Remi against ignoring them.
The group despondently chug back inside, with Theo wondering how they’re going to work out if it’s what they want or not if they can’t play. He and Justin leave their guitars behind, passing Eden and Tim who’ve just come home. Tim heads off to bed and Eden tells Remi and Bree that Cash has now convinced an ex-client of Tim’s to make a false complaint against him and dragged Abigail into it.
At the Diner, Alf tells Marilyn it’s a shame she had to tell Roo because he was enjoying watching her squirm. He wonders who the donor is and Marilyn says she doesn’t know and probably wouldn’t tell him if she did. Justin and Theo turn up and Alf challenges Justin about building something on his property without telling him. Justin argues that technically he’s just helping out. Marilyn says Alf’s just winding him up and Alf thanks Justin.
At the police station, Rose comments on Cash being rostered on for the weekend. Cash is distracted and dismisses her questions about Abigail. He asks if she’s ever made a mistake and not known how to fix it but won’t give details. He starts reading the photos of Nerida’s journal. Abigail is doing the same at the farm house: Nerida starts off talking in romantic terms about how much Tim loves her and how he makes her feel, before increasingly rambling about how he won’t tell his boss about them and they should be together. Abigail gets a text from Cash saying to meet at Salt at 9am tomorrow.
Next morning, Abigail is unhappy that Cash has invited Nerida along but Cash wants her there in case Nerida changes her story. They both agree Nerida’s journal makes her sound deluded. Nerida turns up and is similarly unhappy to see Abigail there. Cash says he wanted to ask her some questions about the complaint. At the Lyrik house, Bree returns from an early morning jog. Remi tells her that Eden and Tim left early. He checks the mail and finds an envelope addressed “To the tenants”. It turns out to be a Noise Abatement Order, meaning if they carry on playing they could be taken to court.
Cash asks Nerida about her relationship with Tim. Nerida continues to insist that Tim still loves her and thinks once he loses his job then they can be together. Cash asks why he’s with Eden. Nerida thinks he’s just using her to stop people asking questions about them. Abigail doesn’t want anything to do with this and decides to withdraw her complaint. Nerida tells Cash that they’ll both get what they want; Eden and Tim won’t be together and he’ll be honest. Cash wants her to withdraw the complaint but she refuses and walks out. Abigail goes after her.
Eden and Tim are walking near the beach. Eden tries to convince Tim that his bosses know his history with Nerida and that he should tell them what Cash has done. Tim admits that Abigail’s complaint is valid and says it’s not a good look. They see Abigail and Nerida arguing and Eden suggests it might be a good thing, since she told Abigail to look into Nerida’s story. Shortly after, Cash runs into Eden as he’s leaving Salt. She recalls how he wanted them to be friends and says it’s not going to happen and she doesn’t recognise him anymore. Cash says he doesn’t either.
Tim turns up at the station and tells Rose he now wants to make an official complaint against Cash. Rose takes the complaint but says Cash hasn’t actually broken the law by contacting friends and family listed on a public social media profile. She also points out that Abigail’s complaint is true and it’s Nerida who he’s saying is lying, not Cash. Tim says Cash broke into his car but he couldn’t prove it. He accuses her of protecting one of her own and leaves, passing Cash. Rose tells Cash that Tim has made the complaint official and she can’t protect him if he carries on. After she’s gone, Cash calls the clinic saying he wants to discuss the complaint against Tim.
Abigail greets Eden at Salt, where she’s just got a text from Remi about a band meeting. Abigail says Eden was right about Nerida and Cash knows it as well. Eden is annoyed that Cash didn’t admit to being wrong when they spoke. She has a go at Abigail for believing Nerida over her. Abigail retorts that Eden chose Tim over her and says to stay away if she’s that much trouble.
At the Lyrik house, Remi and Bree are showing the notice to Justin and Theo. Remi isn’t going to contest it. Eden turns up, more worried about Tim than the band meeting, but Remi and Justin get her to read the note. Justin suggests a rehearsal space. Remi muses that they could never afford one before but agrees to sort it out.
Cash meets with Nerida near the beach. She has heard that he rang the clinic about her complaint and accuses him of betraying her like Tim did. She says she’s decided Cash is right about Tim not wanting to be with her and Eden should watch her back. Cash tries to tell her not to make threats but she reminds him she’s crazy and says they’ve lit the fire and will now watch it burn.
Cash meets with Eden outside the Lyrik house. She tells him to stay away from Abigail. Cash says Nerida’s making threats but Eden is uninterested, especially since he said the same thing about Tim. Cash tells her to stay away from Tim until it’s sorted. Eden goes back inside and Remi appears long enough to tell Cash to go home.
Cash spots Rose on the balcony at Salt and calls up to her. Back at the Lyrik house, Eden tells Remi and Bree that Cash is trying to control her. Bree tries to point out what Cash has been through and that he’s not trying to upset her. Remi decides Eden was right about not being there and says he’ll get them all out of there.
At Salt, Cash tries to tell Rose that Nerida is unstable and he’s worried what she’s going to do, saying she made threats against Eden. Rose thinks it’s no difference to what Cash has been saying and that he’s the only one hurting Eden. Cash asks for a couple of days off work to clear his head. Rose agrees but warns him not to do anything stupid.
