Extended Summary

Cash, Abigail and Nerida are walking by the beach. Abigail and Nerida explain that they both got called in by Tim’s boss to go over their complaints. Cash is pleased that it’s being taken seriously. Abigail hopes that Eden will see what Tim is like. Cash is sure she will. Outside the Lyrik house, Eden admits to Tim that she’s worried about putting things right with Abigail. They note that at least they haven’t heard from Cash recently. Eden admits that Cash has been through a lot and knows he thinks he’s doing the right thing. Tim gets a call from his boss, Melissa, calling him in. Eden has to work but suggests they meet for lunch.

Levi tries to argue to Tane that he has to remain objective. Tane asks what Levi would do if it was Mackenzie. Mackenzie encourages Levi to answer and he admits he’d opt for the surgery. Tane lapses into silence and Mackenzie encourages Levi to go and get lunch and let her handle it. Levi worries he’s made things worse but Mackenzie says Tane put him on the spot.

At the Diner, Marilyn asks Alf about him suddenly wanting the shed painted and wonders if he’s winding Roo up. Roo turns up and says Justin has got his instructions. Alf suggests they go down there and check on him but Roo convinces him to stay for cake instead. Marilyn shoots Alf a knowing look.

Levi comes downstairs at the surf club with coffees and runs into Abigail and Nerida. There’s an exchange of introductions with Abigail saying they met through counselling. Nerida goes upstairs as Levi advises Abigail against spending time with someone from counselling and also warns her Eden’s upstairs. Abigail heads upstairs where Eden apologises to her and says things are fine. Nerida comes over and, on learning Eden is Abigail’s sister, says she’s not what she was expecting. Abigail sends her out onto the balcony before saying she’s glad she and Eden are talking again.

Tim is outside the Lyrik house, trying to call Eden. Running into Cash, he asks what getting him fired is supposed to achieve before driving off. At the farm house, Mackenzie encourages Tane to talk to Harper about how he feels. Tane says they’ve only just got together and doesn’t think he has the right to tell her what to do. Levi arrives back in time to hear Tane saying he’s worried he’ll lose them both.

Roo leaves Alf’s table to join Marilyn at the counter, saying she’s not there to order but for an escape from Alf’s incessant questions about the bait shop. Marilyn says she thinks Alf’s onto them. Roo asks why Alf would be asking all these questions if he was, before the penny drops. They go over to the table and Roo asks Alf how long he’s known. Alf tells them they’re not very good liars. He doesn’t mind but asks where the money is coming from. Roo says it’s none of his business. After checking Roo hasn’t got herself into debt, Alf says to thank whoever it is.

At Salt, Tim is telling Eden he’s been suspended. He has worked out the two complaints are from Abby and Nerida and also realises that Nerida is the woman that was there with Abigail earlier. Eden wonders how Abigail would know her, then realises that’s what she and Cash have been meeting about. She wonders what the story is with Nerida. Tim says she mistook his care for something more and he tried to refer her to another counsellor and restrict her to group sessions until she turned up in his office practically naked saying they needed to be together. He reported it to his bosses at the time but he’s not sure what will happen now.

Cash is getting ready for work when Abigail and Nerida turn up and tell him about Tim being suspended. Cash tells them about his run-in with Tim. Nerida is puzzled why Tim would be there and Abigail explains that Eden lives across the road. Cash offers Abigail a lift to work. Nerida seems lost in thought for a moment before leaving.

When Abigail arrives at the surf club, Eden accuses her of ruining Tim’s career. Abigail says Tim’s not to be trusted and she doesn’t want him hurting Eden. Eden tells her that Nerida’s delusional. Abigail tries to argue that Tim would say that but Eden says there’s two sides to the story and Abigail’s only heard one.

Tane has got a phone call saying Harper’s been discharged from hospital on 100% bed rest. He thanks Mackenzie and Levi before leaving. Mackenzie worries that Tane isn’t going to tell Harper how he feels. Levi has his own concerns: The operation is a rare one, he’s never done it and doesn’t know anyone who has, and doesn’t want the first time to be on a mate’s baby.

Eden turns up at the police station wanting to speak to Cash. He lets her through into the interview room where Eden insists that Nerida’s making it up. Cash is unimpressed, arguing that her information is coming from Tim. He insists he’s going to keep her safe even if she hates him for it. Eden gives up and leaves.

Abigail meets with Nerida at the surf club while on her break and checks it’s true that Tim and Nerida had a relationship. When Nerida insists it is, Abigail presses her for details, asking about their first kiss. Nerida says she can’t remember but Tim doesn’t get to play with people and throw them away. When Abigail asks if she and Tim were in love, Nerida says they still are and always will be. Abigail asks why she’s ruining his career then. Nerida says he hurt them and has to pay.

Abigail goes to the police station and tells Cash she thinks they’ve got it wrong and nothing ever happened between Tim and Nerida. Meanwhile, Eden and Tim meet on the balcony at Salt. Eden says Tim was right about Cash but also feels sympathy for Cash, feeling he’s just trying to protect her. Tim says it feels more like Cash is punishing him.

In the back room at the police station, Abigail tells Cash how Nerida couldn’t give her any details and was all over the place. Cash admits he might have made a mistake: He was so focused on Tim doing the wrong thing he didn’t question Nerida. Abigail wonders if they should call Tim’s workplace. Seeing Rose through the window, Cash ushers Abigail out, telling Rose that it was a personal matter and everything’s okay.
