Extended Summary
Kirby and Mali are packing up after a class on the beach. Kirby suggests they need to decide which boards they’re going to use for the shoot. Mali says they can do it tomorrow morning. Kirby protests that they’re shooting then, which Mali doesn’t see as an issue. As he walks away, Mackenzie approaches a frustrated Kirby, noting that Kirby likes to be prepared while Mali prefers to go with the flow and suggests it’s on him if anything goes wrong.
Eden and Tim are kissing on the couch. Tim says they shouldn’t be doing this but Eden pulls him down…just as Remi walks in. Tim makes his excuses and leaves. Remi asks for details, convincing Eden to give him a name and asking how they met. Eden awkwardly admits that he’s Abigail’s counsellor.
Marilyn asks Alf how long he’s been feeling like this. He admits what she said about Bree got him thinking. Marilyn says the hospital are looking into it and had a tribunal. Alf asks if they think Bree did something wrong. Marilyn says it’s being handled. Back at the Lyrik house, Remi is now concerned about what Eden’s doing, especially when she says she’s just said goodbye to Cash. Kirby comes home to find them arguing and Eden walks out, saying she has to get to work.
At Salt, Mackenzie brings a bowl of chips over to Mali but says he can’t have them until he gives her some answers. She asks why he’s not talking about the campaign. Mali protests that he’s said yes to everything Kirby’s said. Mackenzie says he needs to make some decisions which Mali thinks is what the agency’s for. Mackenzie says she’d be across it and Mali calls her a control freak, which prompts her to put the bowl down out of his reach. She says Kirby’s doing all the work and he agrees to step up, getting the bowl as a reward.
At the Diner flat, Bree, Xander and Dana have just finished eating. Bree says it’s been a while since she’s had time to cook, although she admits she misses work. Dana offers some hospital gossip. Bree is distracted, eventually getting up and checking all the hobs are turned off. Dana starts to tell her a story about an agency nurse everyone hates but they’re interrupted by Alf, who asks to talk to Bree. Xander and Dana leave and Alf asks Bree what really happened at the hospital.
Eden is approaching the surf club when Cash appears and tells her that he might not leave the Bay, saying he thinks leaving is the wrong decision but wonders how she’d feel about it. Eden is annoyed, saying things would be different if she had her way but Cash has made it clear she doesn’t get a say. She walks away, telling him to do whatever he wants.
Back at the flat, Bree tells Alf that she hesitated and should have acted faster and definitely shouldn’t have left the room. She apologises but says that the other staff and Levi looked after him. Alf asks if she’s okay and Bree says she’s having trouble switching her thoughts off. She thanks him for checking in on her.
Mackenzie gets a text from Eden saying she’s not feeling well and won’t be in. Mali is on the phone to Kirby, arranging to meet her at his place. Cash appears as Mali is leaving and asks for a double bourbon. Meanwhile, Kirby is trying to get information out of Remi who eventually says he came home to find Eden hooking up with someone. He starts to say there’s more to it but then Eden comes home. Remi reveals it was Abigail’s counsellor and Eden storms off to her room. Kirby accepts that could be an issue. Eden looks at her bracelet and has a flashback to Cash giving it to her, before taking it off.
Cash has been filling in Mackenzie, who understands why Eden didn’t come in. Cash doesn’t know what he’d do if he turned down the transfer; Rose is senior constable at Yabbie Creek and it’s unlikely another job would come up. He says he wanted to work in a country town growing up but things change, and he’d not just be leaving Eden but other people he cares about. Mackenzie agrees that Summer Bay is home now. Meanwhile, Remi is talking to Eden through her door, asking her to at least come out. She emerges (having changed out of uniform) but immediately goes to the door to let Tim in, having invited him over. She tells Remi that’s his cue to leave and he wearily leaves them to it.
Remi and Bree are walking near the surf club. Bree says Alf’s visit helped and Remi admits he’s worried about Eden. Cash appears and Remi sends Bree on ahead while he says goodbye to him. Cash explains he’s staying, adding that Eden shut him down when he tried to talk to her. Remi calls Eden and leaves a message saying Cash is staying. At that moment, Eden is kissing Tim in the doorway of her bedroom. He checks they’re doing this and she confirms they are, pushing him down on the bed.
At the farm house, Mali is practising various poses that leave Kirby unimpressed. Mackenzie appears and Kirby throws a cushion at Mali. Mali throws it at Mackenzie, who points out he endangered the wine. Mali apologises to Kirby for leaving it all to her, before they all grab cushions for a fight. Meanwhile, Xander and Remi are on the balcony at Salt while Bree and Dana are at the bar. Xander tells Remi he’s been keeping an eye on Bree. As Bree approaches to check their order, Xander tells Remi about Bree checking the stove but says she’s less anxious. Remi says he has to trust she’ll take care of it and Xander says he’ll continue to keep an eye on her, as Bree listens in.
Next morning, Xander and Dana walk near the surf club discussing how quiet Bree was during dinner. Nearby, Mali and Kirby are making final arrangements with Kirby saying this is the start of something big and Mali could end up as a minor celebrity. Mali looks anxious and asks for a minute, hurrying round the corner where he seems to be having a panic attack.
At the Diner flat, Bree is obsessively cleaning the sink and rearranging crockery. Remi arrives with breakfast and Bree asks him how many people he has spying on her.
