Extended Summary

Xander and Mackenzie run into Cash by the beach. He is just coming off a night shift and Mackenzie notes she hasn’t seen him in uniform for a long time. Cash admits he’s not enjoying working at Mangrove River. Xander recalls Cash put the gang leader away but Cash says there’s always someone to take his place. Mackenzie asks him to come by Salt later to sign the contract. Cash goes home where Tane and Harper are getting ready for the bail hearing: They explain about Perri turning himself in and being charged with murder. Tane asks about his chances of getting bail and Cash asks for more details.

At the police station, Theo admits to Rose that he lied about knowing where Perri was and agrees to make a statement. Perri is brought through on his way to his hearing and Theo explains he’s told them about hiding Perri at the garage and it’s the right thing to do. Rose leads him through to the interview room. At Salt, Mackenzie checks over the contracts for the third time. She admits to Xander that she’s nervous about Salt being all hers again, since she’d have lost it without Felicity. Xander thinks she’ll do Felicity proud.

Theo tells Rose what Perri told him: That Carl’s death was an accident and that Carl tried to drown him. Rose asks how he got involved and Theo explains how he found Perri outside the surf club, scared. He says no-one else knew where Perri was. Rose asks why he didn’t come to them before asking if he wants her to call Leah or Justin. At the Morgan house, Leah is unimpressed when Justin turns up, saying she doesn’t want another argument and he should just go. When Justin finally gets to talk, he explains that Theo called from the police station and is in trouble.

Tane, Harper and Perri arrive back at the Newman house. Perri is relieved to be back there and Tane notes he underestimated Jane; he put the gym up for bail. Tane wants to go over Perri’s bail conditions but Perri wants to check up on Theo. Harper offers to do that while Tane goes over things with Perri. Meanwhile, Leah and Justin arrive at the police station. Rose explains the situation and lets Leah in to see Theo. Justin tries to argue Theo was just helping a mate. Rose asks if she’s just meant to pretend he didn’t confess.

Leah and Justin talk with Theo, asking why he didn’t come to them for help. He points out they had their own stuff going on. Out at the desk, Rose refuses to give Harper any more information. Cash arrives with a coffee for Rose and points out she can show discretion where Theo’s concerned. He tells her Theo’s dad was violent towards him and that he took the statement. At Salt, Mackenzie continues to fret while Xander continues to reassure her. Cash turns up and, with only a bit of hesitancy, signs the contract.

Tane asks Perri if he’s across the terms. Perri knows he has to show up at the police station every day to sign in. He worries that they haven’t heard from Harper about Theo. Tane says he was where Perri was once, feeling nothing he did made a difference, but people, especially Harper, convinced him to make a fight of it. At Salt, Mackenzie approaches Cash at a table. He says he’s not having second thoughts but that everything he does seems to move him further away from Felicity. He takes her up on her offer of food.

Leah and Justin are starting to wonder if they should get a lawyer when Rose comes in and announces Theo’s free to go and they won’t be pressing charges. They are slightly confused but grateful. The three of them head back to the Morgan house where Leah and Justin apologise that Theo couldn’t come to them and tell him they’ll always be there for him. They offer to talk but Theo decides to go and check on Perri instead.

Cash runs into Rose at the surf club and explains about signing Salt over to Mackenzie. Rose says she’s glad to see him back in blue. They see Theo and Perri come in together and Rose feels she made the right call. Perri thanks Theo as they set up a game of pool and Theo tries to encourage him over his charges. On the balcony at Salt, Mackenzie looks things over. Xander brings her a new cocktail he’s made in honour of Felicity, a vodka with a lemon twist: The Felicitini. He declines to have one himself, since he’s working and his new boss is a slave driver. Mackenzie sends him back to work.

Outside, Rose approaches Tane and Harper and apologises for assuming Tane was the one hiding Perri. After she’s gone, Harper guesses Rose doesn’t know Tane knew where Perri was and Tane says to keep it that way. He checks she’ll be okay while he’s in the city with Perri for a day or two meeting the lawyer. After Tane’s gone, Harper notices Cash looking at her. Back at the Morgan house, Leah thanks Justin for being there for them. Justin offers to go back to the motel but Leah asks him to stay so they can sort things out.

Cash and Harper are walking down a bush path, discussing her pregnancy and the fact Harper’s been supporting Tane over Perri. Harper says Tane has been amazing with him. Cash asks if Tane knows she’s in love with him and she looks awkward.
