Extended Summary

Justin and Theo have just finished a surf on the beach. Justin says he’s working for the rest of the day. Theo checks that’s at the garage, saying Justin’s been working offsite a lot lately. Justin says he was at the garage yesterday. He suggests getting a bite to eat together but Theo says he’s not hungry and walks off. At the Diner, Leah notices the date and tells Alf and Marilyn it’s the anniversary of when she proposed to Justin. Marilyn thinks she should mark it but Leah says there was a lot of bad stuff happening around that time. She goes to work outside. Marilyn thinks it should be celebrated while Alf thinks it’s up to Leah and Justin.

Remi arrives home with the coffee and finds Bree obsessively tidying his room. He asks why she didn’t wait. Bree says Dana had another go at her but got the message this time. Remi tries to get her to stop and she yells at him when he tries to take a shirt away from her. Later, she says to forget about what she said but Remi is now concerned, saying this isn’t normal. Bree accuses him of judging her and walks out. Eden emerges from her room and asks what’s going on.

At the Newman house, Perri offers to get some groceries. Tane says Perri would just get junk food and he’ll do it, since he has to get some stuff for Harper anyway, asking Perri to open the gym instead. Perri hopes Rose is right about the AVO keeping Carl away. Outside the surf club, Carl is looking at a gym class schedule. Alf notes he hasn’t seen him around before and Carl says he’s just moved there. Alf says if he wants to join the gym he’ll introduce him to Perri and Tane. Bree barges into Alf as she comes past and Alf asks if she’s all right. Bree snaps that she’s fed up of being asked that before apologising and saying she had a bad night. Her phone rings and she says she has to get it. Alf looks round and finds Carl has gone. Despite her comment, when she’s out of view, Bree rejects the call from Remi.

Remi leaves a voicemail for Bree, saying he’s sorry about before and asking her to come home and talk about it. Eden wonders why he’s bothered about Bree tidying his room but Remi says she was really intense. Eden decides to get a coffee before they can talk. Meanwhile, Perri enters the surf club and Carl comes up to him, saying he’ll end anyone Perri speaks to. He says speaking out against him in court was bad enough but the AVO was pathetic, and Perri needs to remember he’s his son, not Tane’s. He also knows Tane won’t be in until after lunch. Perri says Carl could never beat Tane in a fight. Carl says accidents happen – people get run over or have their brakes cut – and he’ll be in touch.

At the Diner, Marilyn tries to convince Leah that her and Justin is something good that came out of what happened. Theo comes in as Marilyn is trying to get Leah to celebrate and looks uncomfortable as Leah says she’s lucky to have Justin. Meanwhile, Remi has explained to Eden what’s been going on with Bree and admits he didn’t think things were that bad until today. He says Bree’s struggled since Flick died in her care and recalls what she said about things being out of control.

Perri arrives home where Tane is unpacking the groceries and says the staff have things under control at the gym. Tane confirms he dropped food off for Harper but notes she needs more: Clothes, toys, a cot, a changing table. Perri tells him he’s going to be a really good dad. At the garage, Justin is singing along to the radio when Theo turns up. Theo asks if he got through all the jobs yesterday and notices Claudia’s car isn’t there. Justin says it’s at the panelbeaters and says he’s behind on the paperwork. He suggests Theo either leave or help out so Theo says he’ll do the invoices.

Eden is fingering the bracelet that Cash bought her. She apologises to Remi, saying she likes to remember the good times. Bree turns up and Eden gives her and Remi some space. Bree says she heard Remi’s voicemail. Remi refuses to brush what happened aside, saying there’s obviously something wrong. Later, Bree is in the bathroom, struggling to compose herself. When she emerges, she tells Remi that he’s right. Remi suggests making an appointment for her with a counsellor and Bree says she’ll do it.

Theo is looking through the invoices and tells Justin that Claudia’s car was sent to the panelbeaters two days ago and there have been no other jobs in, wondering what he’s been doing. At that point, Leah arrives with a picnic and invites Theo to join them, which he accepts. Later, Leah chats about putting everything with Claudia behind them, calling her an awful woman, which Justin thinks is unfair. Leah leaves and Justin asks Theo what the problem is. Theo says he saw him with Claudia yesterday.

Tane and Perri emerge from the gym. Tane sees Eden playing pool on her own and tells Perri to go and set up the boot camp. He approaches Eden: Both of them were hoping that Tane and Perri being at the house would bring Cash out of himself more but Tane admits Cash is still keeping to himself. Later, Cash is going for a run nearby and sees Eden coming the other way. They look at each other for a moment, then Cash runs in the opposite direction.

At the Diner, Marilyn throws out various plans for Leah’s surprise for Justin, like a sunset cruise or a weekend away. Leah thanks her for pushing her to celebrate. Back at the garage, Justin has explained to Theo and insists he’s not having an affair. He says Claudia can’t afford taxis and Theo works out Claudia is lying to her husband. He refuses to lie to Leah. Justin tells him not to say anything.
