Eden loses control. Claudia ropes in Justin. Abigail gives Cash a piece of her mind.

Extended Summary

In Salt, an already drunk Eden asks for another drink before deciding to help herself. John comes along and notes Cash told him what happened and he’s sorry. He sits down next to her and pushes a bowl of nibbles in her direction, saying she looks like she could use the company. Eden says that it he wants to talk then it’s his shout.

At the garage, Justin gets Theo to help with the tidying up and wonders why he’s getting the silent treatment. Theo still isn’t comfortable lying to Leah. Justin reminds Theo that Leah got angry with Claudia for having a go at Theo, and says as the boss he’s handling things. He says it’s not a big deal and will only last a couple of weeks.

Leaving the surf club, John notes he’s never been kicked out of Salt before. Eden insists they didn’t get kicked out, her workmate just said she’d had too much to drink. John offers to walk her home. Eden says it kills her living so close to Cash, everywhere it looks there’s reminders of him and Felicity and the only person who understands what she’s going through won’t talk to her.

At the farm, Levi is on the phone to Mackenzie, who is seeing a solicitor about sorting out the silent partner deal. He hangs up when Abigail appears dressed up for a night out. She says she wants to go dancing but Levi doesn’t think that’s a good idea with her cravings, saying they’ll stick to the routine of food, exercise and sleep. Abigail suggests she run around the paddock but Levi digs out some cards instead.

John gets Eden home. Eden comments on how Cash’s car is there but the lights aren’t on. John doesn’t think spying on him is a good idea and Eden points out John’s Neighbourhood Watch. Pushing her down on the couch, John gets her a glass of water and assures her things will get better. Eden thanks him for listening. After he’s gone, she looks at the glass of water, then pours herself some alcohol instead.

Some time later, Cash is woken by an even more drunk Eden banging on his door. She says she knows he lost his sister but she lost someone too and can’t lose both of them. She says if he wants to protect her he should be by her side and asks him to look her in the eye and tell her she’s wrong. Cash helps Eden home and takes her to her room. She again tries to convince him to stay with her and they start to kiss but Cash pulls away, asking her if she wants to end up in a body bag. Eden tells him if he walks away then it’s over but he leaves anyway.

Next morning, Levi is making breakfast. Abigail appears in a somewhat hyper state, noting she didn’t get much sleep. Levi thinks she was on her phone the whole time. Abigail says she only used it to listen to music. She isn’t sure what she normally does to relax. Levi suggests she put on some soothing music. Instead, she puts on some techno music and dances to it, even when she’s having breakfast.

Eden is woken by John knocking on the door with coffee. She admits that she went over to Cash’s place after he left and made a fool of herself throwing herself at him. John asks if there’s anyone else there, since she shouldn’t be on her own. Eden says she won’t be. At the farm house, Abigail asks if they can go for a walk to the beach. Levi agrees after she’s cleaned up. He asks to change the music and puts on Eden singing All of You. A moment later, Eden herself turns up and Abigail notes she looks worse than her. Eden realises what they’re listening to and turns it off, saying not today.

John goes round to see Cash and mentions talking to Eden. Cash says he didn’t mean to hurt Eden, but she’s safer the further away from him she is. John tells him that Eden loves him but won’t keep reaching out forever. At the farm house, Eden tells Levi and Abigail about how the song helped her get her memory back and how she first performed it in front of Cash…and now she never wants to hear it again. Abigail thinks Cash is a jerk. Levi offers to do the big brother thing and beat him up. Eden suggests it’s not a good idea to punch a cop.

At the garage, Theo suggests to Justin that being a social worker (“veterans’ advocate”, Justin corrects) doesn’t make Claudia a good person. He makes himself scarce when Claudia turns up, having got a lift from someone else. She tells Justin she had a fight with her husband and can’t do this anymore. Later, she explains that Eric is insecure and needy. Justin suggests couples’ counselling. Claudia says money’s tight since he was made redundant and admits she’s been avoiding going home to him. She tells Justin she’s grateful for his support.

Levi sets Eden up on the couch. She and Abigail offer to let her come to the beach with them but Eden doesn’t want to run into Cash. She tells Abigail they were together for nearly two years and he’s being irrational. She tells them about him pulling away and decides she’s going to go to a movie in Yabbie Creek. Abigail tells Levi she’s never seen Eden devastated like this and they should do something.

Later, Cash is running on the beach. Levi and Abigail emerge from a swim and see him coming. Despite Levi’s attempts to dissuade her, Abigail storms up to him, saying Eden can’t move on from him and he’ll end up a sad loser who’ll be lonely forever. Levi tries to apologise but Cash says she’s right.
