Extended Summary

Alf watches as Perri and Rose pull up outside the surf club. Perri is upset both at the outcome of the case and at the fact they haven’t heard from Tane, who Rose only had a brief phone conversation with. Rose tries to assure him they’ll look after him as he worries about Carl coming after him. He goes to look for Tane. Alf comes over and asks Rose what’s going on. She tells him about Perri’s father being up in court. Alf notes Tane left to look for Harper.

Harper frets about how messy her bedroom is as Tane puts her to bed, reminding her the doctor said she had to rest. He notices the outfit she had picked out for court. Harper is sorry he missed it but Tane says she and the baby come first. Harper suggests he goes to look for Perri but Tane says Rose is with him and he’s not leaving Harper alone.

Rose follows Perri up to Salt. He hasn’t found Tane at the gym and Rose tells him what Alf said. He sees Dana with Xander at the bar and goes over to her, asking if she’s seen Tane. Dana says he’s at the hospital and Harper had a pregnancy scare, adding that she’s all right. Rose convinces Perri to sit and have some food. Xander tells Dana that her work issues are important if they’re upsetting her, but also says ED doctors are under pressure. Dana notes a perfect boyfriend would have said it would all blow over.

Tane has brought Harper some water. She points out the blanket from Marilyn and the fluffy rabbit from Dana. Tane recalls he had a fluffy kee as a child, which he explains is a bird a bit like a parrot. Dana turns up and tells Tane that Perri was looking for him and is at Salt with Rose. Harper convinces Tane to go and see him. Dana comments on Tane tucking her in.

Remi tracks Bree down with some coffees and assures her he’s on her side. Bree says Dana doesn’t know what she’s talking about. Remi asks why Dana thinks there’s an issue. Bree says she’s been struggling at work but if anything she’s been more thorough, and suggests he ask Dana next time they chat. Remi says he doesn’t know what to think but apologises for going behind her back. He suggests she’s mainly exhausted and suggests they go home and rest.

Dana is tidying Harper’s room. She worries when Harper shifts and Harper assures her she’s just been in the same position too long. She asks what was going on between Dana and Bree, and Dana calls it hospital politics. Harper says the obstetrician assumed she and Tane were a couple and neither of them corrected her. Dana asks if she should be worried and Harper insists she knows the score.

Rose is eating while Perri picks at his food, thinking it was all for nothing. Tane turns up and says he let Perri down but there was an issue with the baby. Perri tells him to go back to Harper. Tane says she’s fine and Perri asks how many hours he’s spent with someone who’s fine, noting he kept looking around for him in court. Tane says he knows he promised to be there and Perri says his dad never kept his promises either, walking out. Tane follows him outside, with Rose following. Tane says he was worried Harper was going to lose the baby and asks Perri what happened. Perri says Carl’s lawyer made him out to be a liar, then he froze under Carl’s glare. Rose suggests they take out an AVO against Carl.

Bree gets up and wonders why Remi let her sleep for so long. Remi says he thought she needed the rest. He serves her some pasta but worries that the rest doesn’t seem to have helped her. He suggests she could use some time off from work. Bree says she already had some after Flick died but Remi is worried that she still doesn’t seem over it. Later, Remi is asleep while Bree is sat up in bed next to him, shaking and whimpering.

Dana complains that Harper hasn’t eaten any of the food she brought back. Harper says she’s not hungry and, staring at her phone, wonders why Tane hasn’t checked in. Dana says he’s probably busy with Perri and Harper says that’s what she meant, she thought he’d have checked in with her about Perri. Someone knocks and Dana jokes that Harper’s a witch and has summoned him, but it’s Xander. He gives Harper some gelato which she quickly starts tucking into. Xander suggests he stay the night to help Dana out. He also suggests she clear the air with Bree before their next shift together but Dana says she’s not apologising.

At the police station, Perri feels this is a waste of time. Tane suggests it’s good to push back against Carl. Rose appears and says they have a provisional AVO in place until a magistrate can grant a permanent one. Perri doesn’t like the idea of having to go to court again and Rose says the magistrate would need to hear from both him and Carl. Tane convinces Perri to worry about that later and concentrate on the fact they have the AVO for the moment.

Bree goes into the bathroom, struggling to breath and making noises that suggest she doesn’t want anyone to hear her crying. She starts folding towels and, as she does so, slowly becomes calmer. Next morning, Tane and Perri arrive at the surf club. Perri gets a notification that Carl has been served the AVO and Tane reassures him that Carl doesn’t know where they live. Perri offers to open up the gym while Tane goes to check on Harper. Alf approaches Perri and says he’s lucky to have people like Tane and Rose in his corner and the whole town will be looking out for him.

Remi wakes up alone and finds Bree obsessively cleaning the door of an apparently perfectly clean fridge. Remi suggests that’s enough so Bree decides they’ll go for a coffee, saying she’ll meet him outside. Meanwhile, Dana has settled Harper on the couch. Tane turns up and they explained Harper just wanted a change of scene. Tane notes Harper has a glow and Harper asks him about Perri. Xander comes downstairs and he and Dana leave. Tane asks to see the latest ultrasound photo again.

Remi and Bree are walking through a park area. Remi worries that Bree seems a bit hyper. She says she woke up with lots of energy and suggests he goes and gets the coffees because she could use a moment. After Remi has gone, Xander and Dana come along. Xander convinces Dana to go and talk to her while he heads to Salt. Bree paces back and forth and kicks a tree. Dana suggests she shouldn’t have talked to Remi but Bree is intense at work. Bree yells at her, saying she humiliated her and interfered in her personal life: She’ll be professional towards her at work but otherwise Dana should stay out of her way.

Tane and Perri are walking home. Tane suggests Perri do a PT course and reassures him he doesn’t need to worry about Carl. As they head into the house, neither of them realises Carl is watching them from the end of the driveway.
