Extended Summary

Theo finishes a surf and runs into Perri on the beach. Perri is surprised Theo is able to do this instead of work. Theo explains that he’s the boss today and as long as he gets the work done, he can go in whenever he wants. Meanwhile, at the beach house, Harper is uncertain about Tane’s declaration, saying he’s been avoiding the conversation and wondering if he needs to think it through. Tane insists that they’re a family now.

Remi goes into Eden’s room and finds she has tried the wedding dress on. He tells her she looks beautiful. He goes to join Bree and Eden follows him out to apologise for going off at her. Bree understands and gives her a hug. Remi offers a beer and Bree suggests taking the dress off first. Eden agrees she shouldn’t pay for a dress that she’s never going to wear. Remi is less pessimistic, saying Cash will be home soon.

In fact, Cash and Gary are just arriving back across the road. Gary comments on the place feeling different without Felicity. Cash offers to set him up in the spare room and Gary offers to accompany him to the solicitor’s tomorrow. Cash says it’s just to sort out Felicity’s assets. He asks Gary to go across the road to get his car keys. Gary refuses, saying Cash broke up with Eden and should have the courage to face her.

Theo is on the phone to Justin as he leaves the surf club, telling him to check the other supplier and he’ll open up the garage in the afternoon. He tries to challenge Perri to a game of pool. Tane and Harper come along and Theo says he can fit in Tane’s car that afternoon. Tane had forgotten he’d booked it in and has to open up the gym. Perri offers to drive it in. After Theo has gone, Tane asks Perri what happened with Rose. Perri says he made a statement about Carl and it’s up to the police now. Tane tells him about the baby and Perri congratulates him.

Eden has taken off the dress and comments to Bree on how Felicity had good taste and she could have worn any one of the dresses. Cash arrives at the house and is greeted by Remi. Eden suggests they go somewhere private to talk but Cash rather bluntly states he’s only there for the keys, practically snatching them out of Eden’s hand on the way out. Eden tells Remi he got that wrong.

Theo is on the phone to someone saying their car will be ready today. Perri drives up and Theo cheerily greets him. Perri tries to leave quickly before Theo points out he’ll need pick-up details. With a bit of prodding, Perri explains about giving the statement and how it didn’t make him feel as good as he thought. Theo says he’s been there and his dad’s anger resulted in broken bones too. He suggests Perri sit down for a chat.

Tane and Harper are exiting the surf club. Tane wonders where Perri is, since he was supposed to help him set up for the next class. Alf appears and Tane says they have good news, telling him about the baby. Alf congratulates them. After Tane has gone, Alf notes he didn’t even know Tane and Harper were a couple. Harper doesn’t say anything.

Gary is looking through the old photo album. Remi turns up, just before Cash emerges from his bedroom. Remi tries to talk to Cash about what he’s doing to Eden. Cash insists it’s what he’s got to do and walks out. Across the road, Bree tries to tell Eden that Cash makes rash decisions when he’s upset. Eden suspects proposing to her was one and he never really wanted to marry her. Gary turns up with Remi and tells Eden that Cash is making a mistake, and if she still loves him she should fight for him.

Tane finishes off a class on the beach, then notices Cash nearby and goes over to him. Cash apologises for not asking Tane to the funeral. Tane tells him about Harper being pregnant with his baby. Cash recalls Tane always dreamed about having a family and says Flick would be happy for him. Harper joins them and gives Cash her condolences. Cash leaves and Harper tells Tane about Alf thinking they’re a couple, asking if that’s what they are.

Theo tells Perri that he hasn’t seen his dad since the day he made his statement to the police and notes Justin has been more of a father to him. Perri asks if Justin has any other children and Theo says he has a daughter in the city. Perri explains about Tane and Harper having a baby and Theo wonders if Perri’s worried he’ll be stuck changing nappies. He offers him a lift back to town.

Harper and Tane are on the balcony at Salt. Tane admits he should have made things more clear to people. Harper says she knows Tane isn’t in love with her and the baby hasn’t changed that, but wonders what them being a family and Alf thinking they’re a couple means. Tane doesn’t seem entirely sure but says she and the baby are his top priority.

Eden tells Gary she isn’t sure about ambushing Cash. Cash arrives home and Eden tries to talk to him. Cash asks Gary what she’s doing here. Eden tells Cash to look at her. Cash tells her to leave and insists he’s not going to change his mind and they need to move on. He walks away. Gary pats Eden on the shoulder.

At Salt, Remi and Bree talk about needing to give Cash space. He asks about her going back to work and she says she’s doing it later in the week. Eden turns up ready to work. Remi tries to get her to come home but Eden says Cash isn’t going to change his mind and she needs to get on with her life. Meanwhile, Gary has got some food together for him and Cash. Cash tells Gary not to bring his fiance to the house when he’s broken up with her. Gary says he thought Cash would feel different when he saw her. Cash insists he’s protecting her, and notes Tane’s having a baby, Eden lives across the street and he can’t handle watching them move on.

Tane pins the ultrasound photo to the fridge. Theo and Perri turn up and Theo admits Tane’s car won’t be ready until tomorrow. He offers Tane his congratulations and says Perri has his number if he wants to hang out. Perri recalls Tane said he and Harper weren’t a thing. Tane says it was a one-time thing but now they’re a family. Perri recalls his dad never stopped reminding him he was a mistake. Tane says it’s the best mistake of his life.

Cash abruptly starts packing a bag, saying he’s going home with Gary. Gary says he’s welcome to stay for a bit but Cash wants to move away permanently. Gary points out it’s too late to go anywhere now and suggests he sleep on it. Cash insists he’s not going to change his mind.
