Episode 8252

Extended Summary

Xander and Dana head down to the beach together. Xander puts down his towel and Dana puts her own on top of it before sitting down. Xander points out she has her own and Dana says she’d rather share. Xander agrees, sitting down and kissing her. Kirby and Mali watch from down the beach with Mali commenting that they are both playing third wheels, with him living with Mackenzie and Levi. Kirby says at least they’ve got each other. John pulls up next to them in his buggy and, seeing Xander and Dana, notes that’s how it landed.

At Salt, Nelson and Stevie chat for a moment before Stevie asks Bree about herself. Bree says she’s a doctor. Stevie wonders how a doctor and a rock star know each other so well, before realising Bree is Remi’s ex. Remi says he only mentioned her in passing and Stevie agrees he’s been respectful and says she has to thank Bree: She’d never have met Remi if he hadn’t been avoiding her, and now Bree’s with Nelson. Bree excuses herself and Nelson leaves too.

Cash greets Eden when she turns up at the Newman house. Eden says Imogen is heartbroken. Cash suggests running Eden a bath so she can relax and tell him all about it. At the coffee cart, John asks Irene why she didn’t tell him about Xander and Dana being together, since he set them up. Irene doesn’t think conning them into helping out with an assignment counts. John gets a phone call and says they can be there in five minutes. Alf approaches and John says the location manager for the movie wants to talk with them about filming on the beach.

Bree and Nelson are walking in the park with him noting Remi is the person she got out of a relationship with. Bree says they’re trying to be friends but it’s awkward. Nelson indicates he’d like to see her again. Meanwhile, Remi and Stevie come downstairs at the surf club. Stevie apologises for being indiscreet. Remi wants to go for a walk. Stevie offers to go with him, then realises he wants to go on his own. She notices Mali at the board shop and admires one of his boards. Mali recognises her and Stevie asks to take a photo of the board for her socials, convincing him to be in it. Nearby, John shows a representative of the film company out, saying they’ll be in touch with Lottie. John is enthusiastic but Alf thinks giving the film company exclusive use of the north end of the beach for three months will be too disruptive, with not enough parking and having to cancel nippers, and tells John to say no.

Eden is in the bath with Cash sat on the floor next to her. They discuss him taking the job with Stevie. Eden starts to talk about how much Imogen reminds her of her mum but Cash gets a work call. Eden tells him to take it and he says he’ll make dinner and then they’ll talk. Later, Remi is near the beach, composing a text to Bree saying he’s sorry about before. Eden approaches and Remi comments on her being back in town. She asks to speak to him. Putting the phone away without sending the text, he says there’s something he’s got to do.

Meanwhile, Rose meets Mali at the surf club. He tells her about Stevie taking the photo and says he’s got more views, follows and orders as a result. Xander and Dana come in but Dana wants to go when she sees Rose, who she thinks doesn’t like her after their clashes over talking to the journalist and letting Tane into the hospital. She tells him to go and hang out with Rose.

Up in Salt, John has met with Nelson and tells him Alf thinks the filming would be too disruptive. Nelson agrees it is but says that’s why they offer a location fee. John admits they were too focused on logistics to look at the agreement that closely. Nelson says it’s $50,000 plus a credit on the film. John agrees. Xander comes up and joins Rose and Mali, asking Rose if she has a problem with Dana.

Remi arrives at the Diner flat to see Bree, thanking her for agreeing to meet him. They agree today was weird. Bree says Remi doesn’t need to apologise for Stevie. Remi calls her a straight-shooter, which Bree notes is a contrast to her overthinking. Remi says he’s always loved her for being thoughtful and will always want the best for her. Bree reciprocates.

Back at the Newman house, Cash and Eden are sharing a bottle of wine and starting to talk again. Eden says there’s only so many hugs and cups of tea she can give Imogen, although Imogen was starting to reach out to friends and family when she left. They start to kiss but are interrupted by a knock at the door. Cash says he’ll get rid of them but Stevie barges in, wanting to know why he’s insisting on doing background checks on everyone working on the film. Eden retreats into the bathroom with her wine glass.

John runs into Alf in the office and admits that, as surf club manager, he’s accepted Nelson’s offer, before hastily retreating. Dana emerges from the gym and tries to hide when she sees Rose coming downstairs. Dana says Xander told her she could use the last of the bread. Rose says Dana makes Xander happy and that makes her happy, suggesting they go for a drink to get to know each other.

Cash and Stevie have moved on to arguing about his hours. Eden wanders through, saying they’ll talk later. Remi also appears and offers to talk to Eden but she declines and leaves. Cash tells Stevie that she’s his work, not his life. Stevie admits she has trouble with boundaries sometimes and promises to respect his in future. Cash leaves, telling Remi and Stevie to show themselves out. Stevie asks Remi if he’s still mad with her and he says he never was.

Over the road, Eden declines a call from Imogen. Cash joins her and Eden says she feels bad about doing it. She thinks it isn’t fair that Levi gets to play happy families with Mackenzie…and Tane and Mali. Cash promises he’s all hers, throwing his phone across the room to demonstrate. Next morning, Bree and Nelson meet near the surf club. Bree suggests a walk to the lighthouse. Nelson has to work but is keen on another date. They kiss. Nearby, Mali is putting a sign out. He greets Eden as she walks past but gets short shrift.

Irene serves Xander and Dana at the Diner. Dana says Rose is still a bit scary but also really cool. At the counter, John continues to take credit with Irene. Despite her warnings, he goes over to the couple and starts quizzing them on how they got together. Meanwhile, Mali follows Eden and asks if they’ve got a problem. Eden asks if Levi is still living with them. Mali says that’s up to Mackenzie but Eden says Mali enabled Levi and lied to her, and she thought he was better than that.
