Extended Summary

Stevie is on the balcony at Salt, leaving Nelson a slightly frantic message asking him to get back to her. Cash and Remi join her and she complains that Nelson’s got to see Summer Bay’s right for the movie. Cash points out that’s not why she wants to film there but Stevie insists she now does see it as perfect. Remi is distracted sending a text to Bree. Stevie gets a reply from Nelson but it just tells her to chill. Remi and Cash try to convince her to do just that but instead she decides to go and look for Nelson.

Downstairs, Alf asks Roo if she has any fostering business that evening. Roo doesn’t but is considering doing a paediatric first aid course. Alf suggests she ask John about it. Cash, Remi and Stevie come downstairs. Stevie asks Paulo and Lottie, who are playing pool, if they know where Nelson is and Paulo says he went down the beach to take photos. Cash declines to join Stevie in looking, saying he has to update the security company, so she drags Remi off instead. Roo asks Cash how she recognises Stevie and quickly places her when he says the name. Cash mentions they’re looking to shoot a film there and Alf asks what he’s talking about.

Nelson has told Bree he was the middle child between two sisters and got away with murder as the only boy. He asks Bree about her job and she recalls picking thorns out of a drunk teenager who fell in a cactus garden, before realising he’s got her talking about herself again. Nelson’s phone keeps going off and he admits he’s technically working and the photography is just a hobby. Bree offers to walk him.

Cash assures Alf that nothing’s been finalised yet. Alf suspects it’s the film crew’s van blocking the drive and points out they need permits to film on the beach. Cash excuses himself and Roo suggests to Alf that it’s a business opportunity since the film crew will need somewhere to stay. Alf retorts that he likes things as they are and thinks the film crew will mess things up.

Nelson has stopped to take a photo. Bree notes she has a hard time taking selfies. Nelson uses her phone to take a shot of the two of them, then gives her his number, saying he was hoping they’d have dinner tonight. Bree admits she’s just come out of a serious relationship and Nelson says to call him if she changes her mind. Stevie and Remi then appear and Bree is shocked that Nelson knows them. Nelson tells her about the film and Remi says he was going to tell her. Before Nelson can question them further, Stevie takes over the conversation and Bree leaves. Later, Kirby is practising on the keyboard when Remi comes home, saying he checked in with Bree and found her with Stevie’s director. Kirby comments on his sullen mood but he insists he’s happy for Bree since he doesn’t have to feel guilty about Stevie.

By the coffee cart, Alf is on the phone to John, who hasn’t heard about the film either, and tells him to ask around with the committee. Marilyn is excited by the prospect, wondering if she could help out with catering or hair and make-up. Roo turns up and says she spoke to John. Alf has just spoken to him about the course and says John’s looking out for her.

At Salt, Stevie is trying to convince Nelson of her vision. Nelson points out the film’s meant to have a mountain setting. Stevie tries to get Cash to back her up but he’s on his phone and points out he doesn’t work for her yet, going to call Eden. Nelson notes Cash is the only person Stevie lets talk to her like that and she says he saved her life. They agree to pick this up on the beach in the morning.

Cash is on the phone to Eden downstairs, saying he wishes he could be there for her and checking she’ll be home tomorrow. Stevie comes up behind him and he explains Eden’s in the city and he hasn’t had a chance to tell her what’s going on. He offers to drive Stevie back to her hotel but she says she can entertain herself. She goes over to Remi at the pool table and suggests they go back to his.

At the Diner flat, Bree looks at a takeaway menu and at the photo of her with Nelson. Kirby turns up, asking about what Remi said. Bree says it’s the guy they saw on the beach: They met by the coffee cart and he’s nice and exciting and asked her out. However, she thinks it feels weird and she’s not ready. Kirby says Remi’s moved on and she’s allowed to go on dates too.

Next morning, Stevie drags Remi down the beach before they have coffee, saying they have to show Nelson that beaches and romcoms go together. She starts acting out a scene from the film with Remi. Nelson is obviously intrigued, sitting and imagining angles. From further down the beach, Bree and Kirby see Remi and Stevie kissing as part of the scene. Bree insists she’s fine with it but still walks away.

At the Diner, Marilyn is wishing Roo luck. Alf turns up and Roo explains she’s found a first aid course in Yabbie Creek that starts that day and to tell John for her. Cash turns up and says there’s still no decision on the movie, telling Alf he’s sure someone will contact him when there is.

Bree and Kirby arrive back at the Diner flat, with Kirby wondering if Bree’s going to keep on saying she’s okay. Bree says Stevie will be gone soon, before eventually deciding she’s allowed to move on too and texting Nelson. At the surf club, Nelson is now trying to big up Summer Bay on the phone. He tells Stevie that the producer thinks the extra expense isn’t worth it: They’ll lose the deposit on the mountain location, the log cabin’s already been built and wardrobe have sourced ski wear. Stevie says to take any money for the move out of her fee.

Bree is getting ready for her date in a rather flustered manner but composes herself when Nelson turns up. They head out on their date. Meanwhile, at the Newman house, Stevie is telling Cash she’s got Nelson to agree to the move. Cash wonders what exactly his job will involve and looks ashen as Stevie notes she has 5am starts and will be working 14 hour days for three months.

Nelson and Bree go up to Salt and she unthinkingly takes a seat opposite him when he tries to pull a chair out for her. He tells her they’re going to be shooting the film in Summer Bay after all and implies she’s one of the perks. Stevie and Remi turn up and Nelson invites them to join them. Bree and Remi both say no but Stevie happily agrees, leaving Remi to awkwardly sit next to Bree.
