Episode 8232

Extended Summary

Stevie is sat out the front of the Newman house drinking coffee. She sees a couple cycle past, followed by Remi heading up onto his drive on his motorbike, which gets her attention. Cash appears and asks what she’s doing out there. Stevie says she needed some fresh air and there’s hardly anyone there but Cash wants her to stick to the back yard.

They go back inside where Cash chats to Felicity about finding who planted the spy cam. Stevie gets a text saying she’s been offered an audition for a rom-com, explaining she wants to branch out and show she can do more than horror. On learning it’s at a casting agency in the city, Cash says she can’t go since she’d be wide open. Felicity tries to argue Stevie’s case but Stevie quickly agrees. However, she also tells Felicity she doesn’t give up at the first hurdle.

Levi arrives back at the Lyrik house to find Remi there and recalls Eden saying he’d gone to pick up his bike from his parents. Remi warns Levi not to give him a lecture about riding the bike. Levi says he isn’t, although he does remind Remi he overdid it recently. He is surprised to hear Eden isn’t there, explaining he went to get her and Imogen breakfast. Remi suggests that they’ve gone to Salt and Levi gets a slightly panicked look in his eyes.

At Salt, Mackenzie serves Eden and Imogen before going back to the bar, where she continues to listen in. Imogen comments on how friendly everyone is and Eden notes everyone soon knows your business. Imogen apologises for dumping her marital problems on her and wonders if starting a family is the only reason for the distance between her and Levi, saying things have changed between them recently. Mackenzie looks uncomfortable.

Felicity lets Remi into the Newman house, since he wants to use the pool for his physio. He briefly exchanged greetings with Stevie as he heads through. Cash appears and wonders why Remi isn’t using the gym. Felicity suspects he’s avoiding Bree. Stevie says her agent has arranged for her to do a self-tape but she could use a scene partner. Felicity enthusiastically volunteers but Stevie says it’s a love story and she needs male energy to work off. Realising they’re looking at him, Cash quickly refuses.

Mackenzie collects Eden and Imogen’s cups. Imogen compliments her on the meal last night and Eden says Imogen will have to come back when Lyrik are playing there. She mentions Mackenzie was one of Levi’s patients and Imogen encourages her to join them. Mackenzie says Levi saved her life and Eden agrees he went above and beyond for her. Imogen thinks that’s why Mackenzie shouted them the coffees. Levi arrives and looks frozen at the sight for a moment before Imogen gets him to join them too.

While Remi is swimming in the pool nearby, Cash sets up a camera phone to record Stevie in the back garden. She fails to persuade him to join her, accepting she’ll have to make it a monologue. She assures him she doesn’t mind Remi being there, which her glances over at him seem to back up.

Imogen realises Mackenzie is the reason Eden and Levi reconnected. Eden recalls how he saved Remi as well. Imogen notes how beautiful it is around there and suggests to Levi that they look into real estate. Eden is keen on the idea but Levi just says they’ll talk about it later. Mackenzie leaves them. Levi offers to get the bill and Eden and Imogen tell him Mackenzie gave them the coffees on the house. As they leave, Levi shoots an annoyed look back at Mackenzie.

Eden and Imogen lag behind Levi as they exit the surf club, with Imogen commenting on how he avoids anything that isn’t small talk. They call Levi back and he suggests he and Imogen head home, saying he wants to do a quick consultation with his patient in the city and then they can spend a few days at home. They say goodbye to Eden. Later, Imogen is packing at the motel. She notes it’s a shame they took separate cars. Levi says he has to stop off at the hospital anyway but won’t be too far behind her.

Stevie makes several attempts to deliver a line about billionaires. Remi, who has just got out of the pool, finishes the line for her, saying he’s heard her try to deliver it twenty-five times. She comments on needing a scene partner and wonders if he knows anyone that could help. Remi says she could just ask. Stevie says she is and Remi says he accepts.

They decamp to outside the Lyrik house together, with Remi reading from the script. Stevie explains that her character is a rich girl trying to get away from her parents and his is the travelling photographer she falls for. They start playing the scene but Stevie messes up a line after a few exchanges. Remi notes she’s good and she says it’s all about being in the moment with someone. Remi agrees to a beer inside.

At the farm house, Tane and Mali are aghast that Mackenzie chose to meet Imogen despite Tane advising her not to. Mackenzie says she wanted to see her opposition close up and admits she liked Imogen and would be friends with her in different circumstances. Levi turns up in a fury and Tane and Mali give them space. Levi asks Mackenzie if she’s trying to ruin his life. Mackenzie says she wanted to meet the woman he spends his life with. Levi says he doesn’t want to hurt his wife and asks her what she wants. Mackenzie tells him to get out.

At the Lyrik house, Stevie tries to ask Remi about his ex and he says he won’t ask her about why she’s staying with Cash if she doesn’t ask him about that. They start running through the scene again, where Remi’s character reveals he knows who Stevie’s character is. They kiss as scripted and Remi wonders what happens now. Stevie says they improvise: She throws the script away and they kiss passionately.

Over at the Newman house, Eden tells Felicity she’s got a text from Imogen saying she’s home safe and Levi’s on his way. Felicity assures her not all marriages are as disastrous as hers. Cash comes in after being on the phone to his boss. He goes to check on Stevie outside and sees she’s not there. Felicity doesn’t know when either she or Remi went, saying he must have used the side gate. Eden offers to call him.

Remi’s phone rings unnoticed on the table over the road; Remi and Stevie are in bed. Stevie notices Remi’s scars from his surgery and he notes he’s not 100% yet. Stevie pulls on a shirt and takes photos of Remi with her phone, followed by a selfie of the two of them. She says she won’t post anything embarrassing. Remi says she can do that later, taking the phone off her and pulling her back down.
