Cash interviews for a new job. Remi is stuck between a rock and a hard place. John is on a mission to marry.

Extended Summary

Cash runs into Eden in the street outside her house. She asks if he missed her and he says she was only gone one night before confirming he did: She has been at a gig in the city with Imogen. They hear Remi and Bree arguing inside the house. Cash leaves Eden to deal with it while he takes a call from his boss. Inside, Remi is protesting at Bree giving him an ultimatum, asking how she’d feel if he told her she can’t practice medicine anymore. Bree rejects the comparison, as he says he isn’t a child and won’t just obey her. Eden comes in and Remi invites Bree to tell her what they’re arguing about. Bree leaves instead.

At the Diner, John is telling Irene and Marilyn that he wants to help Justin with the wedding preparation, even though he hasn’t been asked to do so. Marilyn says they’ve been thinking of the wedding cake but John wants a grander gesture, although he’s not sure what. Meanwhile, Eden finds Cash changing into a suit. He says the security agency called and offered him a job for a personal security bodyguard interview: He doesn’t even know who it’s for, just the time and place he has to meet them. Eden cautions him not to ask for an autograph.

Levi encounters Mackenzie in a lift at the hospital. He says he’s there for a consultation and asks her what she’s there for. She says she had a review with her rehab team which didn’t require a cardiothoracic surgeon so she doesn’t need him. Realising she’s being a bit blunt, she apologises. Levi asks to go somewhere and talk.

Remi and Eden meet up at the house. Remi remains frustrated at Bree’s attitude and says the accident wasn’t his fault. Eden says he could get unlucky again. Remi says it needs to be his call. Eden asks him to consider Bree’s point of view, thinking he was going to die, and asks if he’d want her to get back on the bike if the positions were reversed. Remi accepts she’s got a point.

Cash arrives at a marina and approaches a boat. A rather heavyset suited man, Todd, emerges from the boat heading the other way and wishes Cash luck. Cash knocks on a door and goes into the boat to find dresses laid out and a poster for a film, Death Throes. A woman who is obviously the film’s star, Stevie Marlow, emerges and talks about how popular the film was. She walks round Cash, looking him over. Cash asks if they can start the interview. Stevie says they already have and invites him on deck to eat.

Mackenzie and Levi are walking by the beach. Levi is trying to get Mackenzie to reconsider ending the relationship while Mackenzie insists she doesn’t want to end his marriage. Levi says he’d be the one doing that. Mackenzie tells him to stop talking: Levi is iniially annoyed but realises why when Eden appears. Eden talks about her night out with Imogen and what a party animal she is. She recalls Imogen said Levi had to leave early for work and Levi explains about the consult at Northern Districts. Mackenzie leaves them to it.

John tells Irene and Marilyn he’s had an incredible idea. Marilyn hopes he hasn’t put himself in charge of arranging the flowers. John says he’s been looking for a celebrant: He’s rung half a dozen, including an Elvis impersonator and one who marries people in the nude, and they all cost a fortune, so he’s going to get his marriage celebrant certificate and do it himself. He heads off to see how much the course costs. Marilyn thinks he’ll change his mind when he sees how much it is but Irene thinks he’s made his mind up. Meanwhile, Remi meets Bree by the beach and apologises for not thinking about how she felt. He says he loves riding but he loves her more so he’s not going to get back on the bike.

Stevie tries to get Cash to eat with her, offering to get something else if he’s vegetarian or on a diet. Cash refuses, saying he’s there for the interview. He also reveals he’s never see Death Throes and doesn’t watch horror movies. He asks about the guy he passed and Stevie says she rejected him because he didn’t look good in a suit: Being photographed with her is part of the job. Later, after Cash rejects her attempt to order him an espresso martini, she reiterates that the interview has already started but agrees to get to the boring stuff. She hands him a file, saying it’s the police report on her stalker, and tells him to read it.

At Salt, Mackenzie tries to chat to Xander but gets a cold response, with him reminding her he had to hear from Felicity that she thought he was bad at event organising. Mackenzie admits she did say that, then is distracted by Levi arriving with Eden, prompting Xander to walk away. Eden tells Levi he can’t keep lying to his wife and he agrees to tell her about the consults.

Outside the Lyrik house, Remi is on the phone to Justin, asking him to store his bike for a couple of months. However, when Bree comes out, he tells her he was talking to Mercedes, saying he doesn’t want the bike any more, and she’s agreed to have someone pick it up. Bree thanks him for being understanding.

Cash looks over the file which include the fact that the stalker broke into Stevie’s house and took photos of her while she slept. The photos are included in the file but the police didn’t get anything off them. The stalker rang her up on her birthday with a bomb threat and she’s received threatening fan mail. She says that’s why she’s living on the boat. She leaves Cash to continue reading.

Mackenzie briefly listens in on Eden suggesting to Levi that she bring Cash to the city. Mackenzie talks to Xander, saying she didn’t like the paint and sip idea but she appreciates what he brings to the table and was just having a bad day when she spoke to Felicity. The fact she is again distracted by Levi spoils the effect somewhat and Xander walks away. Mackenzie leaves, turning down Eden’s invitation to join them.

Cash finds Stevie inside and asks what other security measures she’s taken. He thinks she should cancel all personal appearances. Stevie says she has press, TV and red carpet events and refuses to let the stalker ruin her life before he’s locked up. Cash says there’s no point him being there if she won’t listen to him.

That night, Levi comes to the farm house to see Mackenzie. She tells him he’s lucky Eden hasn’t figured things out. Levi says they have something special. Mackenzie says it would be if they were both single and again worries that he’d leave his wife for her and it wouldn’t work out. Levi reminds her she told him to look her in the eye and say it was over, and challenges her to do the same.

Cash is on the phone to his boss at the marina, saying he’s not the right fit but he’s been looking around the place and it’s crawling with people: One guy in a dinghy could be a threat and Stevie needs to get off the boat.
