Episode 8161

Extended Summary

Eden and Remi are walking near the beach. Eden has had a call from Cash asking to meet. Remi tells her about Bree lying about being at work, explaining about his conversation with Xander. He decides to go to the hospital. Eden meets with Cash, who confirms he’s left Felicity at home and asks to talk. At the hospital, Bree and Levi are installing Mackenzie in a new room. She is concerned about being out of ICU but they assure her she wouldn’t be there unless she was on the road to recovery. Bree gets a text from Remi suggesting they meet on her break but ignores it, going on to tell Mackenzie she can have flowers now.

Justin tries to talk things over with Leah but she wants to go back to work. He protests that he asked her if she was serious about getting married and thinks her not sleeping is nothing to do with the wedding. Leah insists she loves him but isn’t in the right headspace to deal with the wedding. Justin accepts it but asks to keep it quiet to avoid questions. Theo comes home but they both tell him nothing’s wrong.

Meanwhile, Cash and Eden are walking on the beach. Cash says he’s going to follow her advice and give Felicity some space. However, there’s no way to get his review moved again so he’ll have to wait out the three months.

Levi tells Mackenzie she’ll start cardio rehab soon. Mackenzie is still worried about it happening again, since they don’t know why it happened in the first place. Bree exits the room and encounters Remi, who says he came when she didn’t answer his message. He also reveals he knows she was home last night and wonders why she couldn’t be honest.

Leah is back at the Diner when Theo turns up. He asks what’s going on and Leah wonders what Justin’s told him. Theo says it’s obvious something’s up and offers to help out with the wedding. Leah says everything’s fine. Back at the hospital, Bree says that Remi’s parents have a great relationship but she was thrown by him having their future mapped out. She says she feels like she hasn’t really done anything in her life, having spent her 20s studying. Remi notices Levi and identifies him by name, confirming that he knows him.

On a balcony at Salt, Eden tries to work out what Cash can do with his time, wondering what else he wanted to be. Cash can only offer that he wanted to be an astronaut when he was a kid. Remi turns up, noting Eden wasn’t at home so he came where the beer is, and asks her to guess who Mackenzie’s heart specialist is. Eden starts to say she doesn’t know many, then the penny drops. Remi confirms it’s Levi. Cash asks who he is and Eden says he’s her brother.

Justin turns up at the Diner and finds Theo there. Theo says he was partly doing his assignment and partly keeping an eye on Leah. Justin convinces him to go, then approaches Leah, asking for the answer to a question. Leah tries to avoid the conversation but Justin asks if the plan is still to get married at some point. Leah can’t give him an answer.

At the Lyrik house, Eden is pouring a shot and Remi asks for one too. Cash didn’t know Eden had a brother. Eden says he’s not part of her life anymore and chose the wrong side when their parents split up. Bree turns up and says she didn’t know Levi was Eden’s brother until today. Remi says he hasn’t seen Levi since high school. Eden says he was eighteen, old enough to know right from wrong. Bree offers that he seems nice and to care about his patients. Remi shoots her a warning look and Eden says Bree doesn’t know the sort of person he is.

Mackenzie is sitting alone in her room when Levi comes past. She admits that, without the constant interruptions from ICU staff, she’s been left thinking about everything that could go wrong. Levi asks if she likes quiz shows. Mackenzie is a bit bemused but Levi suggests they watch an episode together and sets up his laptop. Meanwhile, Justin finds Leah still sitting up and looking at her laptop, and asks her if this is the right time to be buying coffee beans. Leah insists she’s fine and will be in soon but instead gets herself another cup of coffee.

Next morning, Leah stops by the garage with some coffee. She is initially cheery, brushing off Justin’s concerns about how little she slept last night, until she notices he’s working on the car from the accident. Justin says she knows he offered to do it, reminding her it happened when Rose was there. Leah doesn’t seem to remember and accuses him of trying to fix things when the insurance would have covered it. Theo appears from the office and asks what’s going on. With a bit of prompting from Leah, Justin says the wedding’s postponed, before walking away. Later, they reassure Theo that they’re not splitting up and the plan is still to get married eventually. They ask him to keep it quiet.

Cash is making breakfast for himself and Eden. Remi and Bree join them. Bree again tries to have a word with Eden about Levi. Eden says he cares more about strangers than his mother and sisters. Bree goes to get ready for work. Eden explains to Cash that she was always close to Levi and the rest of the family until she was fifteen, wghen their dad had an affair and Levi took his side.

Later, Cash and Eden walk through a park. Cash says he could have given up on Felicity but they are where they are now, which Eden doesn’t consider selling it. Cash suggests that, to hate Levi this much, she must have really loved him once, and wonders if there’s anything worth salvaging.

Bree finds Levi spent the night at the hospital and he notes he had a nap in the on-call room. They go to check on Mackenzie before Levi heads back to the city. They find Mackenzie on the phone to Dean, saying she missed his calls because she was busy with work. She explains to the doctors he’d drive down if he knew. Levi says brothers are the worst, getting a look from Bree.

Eden comes up in the lift. She sees Levi talking with a nurse and turns to go, frantically pressing the lift call button. Levi sees her and calls out to her. Eden awkwardly turns and greets him.
