Extended Summary
Remi brings Kirby a coffee outside the house. He asks if she’s sure about putting her money back in the band, wondering if it’s guilt money. Kirby partly confirms it is by saying they’d be touring their album if she hadn’t tried to have a solo career but insists she believes in them. Across the road at the Newman house, Cash checks Felicity is ready and she thanks him for spending the last few days with her. He gets a call from Eden wondering what he’s doing and he says he’s going to spend the day helping Felicity settle back in at work. Eden mentions Rose was looking for him but he dismisses it as nothing.
At the Diner, Alf is on the phone to someone insisting they don’t have to accept John’s resignation. Leah comes in trailed by Justin. She refuses to talk to him, sarcastically saying she’s glad he’s good, and quickly arranges to get a bewildered Alf another tea. Meanwhile, Cash and Felicity arrive at Salt. Xander is surprised to see her and behaves somewhat distantly, revealing he’s already got everything sorted before offering Cash a coffee. Cash quietly tells Felicity she’s doing the right thing by not hiding away and taking responsibility. He offers to stick around and Felicity offers him lunch on the house.
Kirby is trying to write outside the house while Remi hangs around. She wonders why he’s not annoying Bree and Remi says she’s working, even though she was working last night. Kirby drily notes she loves having a silent haunting presence there while she’s trying to write. Eden comes along and plonks herself on the other side of Kirby. She complains about not seeing Cash and suspects he may regret helping Felicity in a couple of months when he hasn’t helped his suspension.
At Salt, Felicity tries to make conversation with Xander. Cash asks after Mackenzie. Felicity has rang the hospital and Xander tells them about the tear on her carotid artery. Eden arrives and asks to talk to Cash. Felicity tries to get them to talk there but Eden wants to do it in private and Cash tells Felicity he’ll be back in five minutes. (Eden says ten.)
Eden and Cash head downstairs. Cash says he’ll hang around as long as Felicity needs him. Eden asks why he didn’t tell her about his superiors’ reaction to him missing his review. Cash is dismissive of it. Felicity calls down that his cold lunch is getting cold and Cash leaves. At the Diner, Leah is annoyed about Justin hanging around the kitchen. She says she gave him her keys to stop another accident. Justin still wants to talk to her. Leah tries to act casual but ends up snapping at him to go.
Kirby and Remi arrive at the surf club to find Eden playing pool by herself. She admits she’s calming down before going upstairs and complains about Cash still prioritising Felicity when his job’s on the line. Kirby points out that Felicity might not know about it. Upstairs, Felicity tries to apologise to Xander for the way she’s been lately. She asks if he blames her for Mackenzie. Xander replies that he wants to keep his job. Nearby, Eden sits with Cash and tries to convince him to do something about his suspension, saying he must care about his job.
Down on the beach, Alf leaves an irate phone message for John before asking Justin if he wants a job. Justin tells Alf about Leah’s accident and not sleeping and how she won’t talk to anyone about it. Alf heads to the Diner and tells Leah about the talk. He says she has a lot on at the moment, with Justin coming out of hospital and her going straight back to work and wedding planning. Leah admits she doesn’t know what to focus on first. Alf says she needs to take care of heself first.
Felicity tells Xander she knows she treated Mackenzie wrong and is never going to forgive herself for putting her in hospital. Xander, softening slightly, says the heart attack wasn’t her fault and the pressure Feliciy put Mackenzie under didn’t cause the tear. Nearby, Cash insists to Eden that Felicity is his priority. Downstairs, Remi and Kirby are playing pool with Remi reflecting on how she could get $64,000 if she sells eight songs. Kirby says at least something good might come out of her solo career. Xander comes down and Remi asks him if Bree’s getting any sleep. Xander’s confused: They had pizza and a movie at home last night.
Justin is at home when Leah arrives back. She says she’s on a break from work and wants to talk to him; Alf made her realise she shouldn’t be shutting him out. She acknowledges how much he’s gone through and says there’s more. Meanwhile, Eden joins Remi outside the house and notes she has to accept that Cash will always be co-dependent with Felicity. Remi texts Bree asking if she’s free tonight. She texts back saying it’s a big day at work.
Leah tells Justin she can’t keep going on like this. Justin suggests she take time off work and offers to go with her to the GP and do the wedding planning. Leah says they need to postpone the wedding, since she needs to fix herself first.
