Extended Summary
Theo and Kirby are setting things up on the beach while Andrew plays in the water. Andrew rejoins them and asks Theo about him setting up his surf board, before asking when he can learn. Theo suggests he needs to learn to swim first, prompting Andrew to race into the water. Theo makes to go after him but Kirby stops him: Andrew is keeping himself afloat without any difficulty.
Back at the police station, Cash tells Justin that it was Andrew’s mum who put in the missing persons report, meaning Andrew must be wrong about her having died. At the moment, they only have the poster so Cash has requested the report. He wants Andrew to come in for an interview. Justin protests that Andrew didn’t respond well before but Cash is insistent.
Eden emerges from her room to face Remi’s astonishment at her refusing Cash’s offer, saying Cash obviously sees it as a good investment. Eden reminds him that he won’t take money from his parents so she’s not taking any from her very new boyfriend. Remi calls it’s Lyrik’s dream but Eden declares the conversation over and emphasises the point by taking Remi’s toast.
Marilyn is surrounded by the boxes at the beach house. She is horrified when Alf turns up with Roo but Roo points out she knew something was going on from the way Marilym was avoiding her and approves of what she’s doing. They explain about asking Gerald to look into things.
Andrew is washing the sand off near the beach. Theo and Kirby comment on how they didn’t know he could swim. Andrew admits he didn’t either but doesn’t regard it as a big deal. Justin comes over and says the police have found more information. Inside the surf club, Remi finds Eden playing pool. He initially claims to come in peace, but before he’s taken his first shot, he asks her about Cash’s offer. Eden says she doesn’t want to be in debt to her boyfriend and reminds him the album is mainly an excuse to spend more time with Bree. She says they’ll have to find another way of funding it.
At the police station, Justin and Theo reassure Andrew before Cash comes in. Cash asks Andrew to think back to when he was a little kid and what he remembers. Andrew says not much. Cash asks what he remembers of his mum, saying they think she might be alive. Andrew says his dad said she died. Cash asks if he knows how or remembers going to a funeral, before telling him his mother reported him missing. Meanwhile, Alf, Roo and Marilyn all arrive at the coffee cart in a hopeful mood. Marilyn explains to Kirby that the others are helping now and they describe Gerald as their “secret weapon”.
Justin convinces Theo to go and Theo reflects on Andrew finding out that his dad died and his mum didn’t. Justin rejoins Cash and Andrew in the room. Andrew doesn’t remember anything about his mum. Cash shows Andrew the missing poster. Andrew recognises the teddy bear, Ted, that his younger self is holding. Outside the Lyrik house, Remi tells Eden that he accepts her decision not to use Cash’s money. However, he points out that means they still have to find a way to fund the album.
Alf tells Marilyn, Roo and Kirby that three high-profile employees – two executives and a lawyer – have left the company in the last two months. Roo suggests tracking them down. Alf, Roo and Marilyn leave for the Diner. Theo turns up and tells Kirby about Andrew being a missing person. Meanwhile, Cash explains that Andrew’s mum accused his dad of taking him: He was questioned but seemed to check out. Cash tries to ask Andrew about his dad, wondering how they moved to the city, but Andrew insists he’s not allowed to talk about it, standing up in a panic. Justin tries to placate him.
Remi is drumming absent-mindedly on a plant pot as he tries to work out a way to get the money. Eden says it looks like they’re back to getting real jobs. Remi wonders how she’s going to tell Cash she’s not taking the money. Eden thinks it’ll be fine. Back at the police station, Justin tells Andrrw that he found out his dad had secrets after he died. He tries to get him to talk to Cash again but Andrew doesn’t believe it of his dad, saying his rules were because he loved him. Cash returns: The contact details Missing Pesons have for Andrww’s mum are out of date but they’re not giving up.
At the Diner, Theo gets off the phone from Justin and tells Kirby Justin and Andrew are on the way home so asks for a takeaway for them. Nearby, Roo is on the phone to someone asking why they left Stunning Organics, eventually settling for telling them they’ve got her number if they change their mind. Marilyn thanks everyone for their help and Theo asks about what they did online.
Theo arrives home to Justin and Andrew. Justin sends Andrew to check on Buddy, who can be heard outside. Justin notes everything Andrew knew about his life is probably a lie. While Justin’s back is turned, Theo takes a photo of the missing poster on his phone. He leaves the room as Andrew comes back in. Justin says he’s there if Andrew needs to talk. Andrew admits he doesn’t understand it.
Eden meets up with Cash near the beach for lunch. She says they’ve been doing band admin. Cash asks if she’s booking the recording studio. Eden says they can’t take the money. Cash looks bothered as he follows her. Later, the two of them are up in Salt preparing to order. Cash asks why Eden won’t accept his offer. Eden says it’s easier to keep their money separate and things would get messy if they broke up. As she goes to order, Cash looks upset.
