Extended Summary

Eden and Remi are continuing their journey towards Salt, chatting about the album, when they spot Bree coming the other way. Remi sends Eden on without him and Bree notes she was planning to have a wash and then find him. Remi says he’s happy with how she is. They discuss the fact he’s going away on tour with the band soon. Remi notes they have the night together before then and asks if she wants company in the shower. Meanwhile, Eden arrives at Salt to meet Cash and is slightly bemused when he pulls her chair out for her and calls her beautiful. She tells him that the song went well and she’s happy about it and also about the idea of her song being on their album. Cash suggests champagne.

Remi and Bree arrive back at the Diner flat. Bree admits she doesn’t want Remi to go away and Remi says the best part is coming home to her. He suggests dinner, drinks and a walk on the beach. Bree agrees, “after”. Meanwhile, Theo is helping Kirby close up the coffee cart. He suspects she’s worried about either Marilyn, Eden’s song or both. Kirby admits it’s mainly the song. She says that Eden and Remi are great musicians and Theo’s doing well as lead singer: Songwriting was meant to be her thing. Theo thinks you don’t suddenly stop being an amazing songwriter.

At the Diner, Alf and Irene look over Marilyn’s contract. Irene says Marilyn’s signed up for a weekly delivery for twelve months and it doesn’t specify three boxes, plus there doesn’t seem to be a get-out clause. Marilyn says she thought it was normal. She half-seriously suggests moving to Irene’s house while she’s away so no-one can find her. Irene checks she’s okay to water her plants and collect her mail. Alf draws their attention back to the contract, saying they need to talk to a lawyer.

At Salt, Cash and Eden see Remi and Bree come in and beckon them over. They discuss the tour, with Cash wondering if it actually counts as a tour when you’re away less than seven days. Eden invites the pair to join them. Bree checks they’re not crashing a date and Cash suggests they’re crashing each other’s. Bree still doesn’t look entirely comfortable.

Theo and Kirby have arrived back at Lyrik’s house. Theo tells Kirby she needs a night of nothing else but writing: He’s going to hide out in her room, leaving her with her song book and a takeaway. Kirby protests she only has bits and pieces but Theo has confidence in her. Back at Salt, Remi and Eden tell an anecdote about how someone stole Bob’s van while they were asleep in it and they woke up in Dubbo. Eden suggests getting drinks and going back to theirs. Bree agrees when Remi checks with her. Cash suggests to her they settle in and enjoy the ride.

Theo finds Kirby sat surrounded by screwed up bits of paper. He assures her she has all night. Cash, Eden, Remi and Bree turn up and Eden declares it a party. Theo tries to protest Kirby’s writing and Kirby says they have to leave first thing in the morning. Cash says he has to supervise community service in the morning and Eden retorts that she has to sing in front of hundreds of people. Remi and Bree stick to wine but Eden convinces everyone else to drink tequila for a toast.

At the Diner, Irene gives Marilyn the keys to her place and Marilyn promises she can handle it. Alf arrives and asks how the lawyer went. Marilyn says she was told she has two choices: Honour the conract and sell the product, or risk getting sued. She gets a text and notes Roo will love this: The next delivery from Stunning Organics has arrived.

Remi checks that Bree is okay even though this wasn’t the plan. Cash gives them vodka from Eden. Kirby admits she hasn’t written anything and they discuss sharing secrets in order to inspire her. Cash suggests laying ground rules first. Bree goes into the bathroom for a moment, taking deep breaths, before rejoining them and saying she’s going to bed. Kirby presses her to reveal a secret until she snaps and says her life is none of their business. She heads off to the bedroom. Remi follows and checks on her, with her noting she’s not used to sharing secrets, while Cash and Eden also go off to bed. Kirby feels bad but a discussion with Theo inspires her to realises secrets themselves could be the subject of the song. She is soon writing and performing.

Alf and Marilyn arrive home and find the boxes on the living room table. Alf suggests Marilyn calls the company’s bluff and just sends them all back. Next morning, Marilyn is sorting through the boxes and warns Alf that the company has a legal team. He suggests putting the boxes in the post and Marilyn says she’ll arrange a courier instead. However, while retrieving her phone, she finds Irene’s keys and looks thoughtful.

Lyrik are getting ready to leave for the gig. Eden is looking for a bracelet and Kirby and Theo worry that they’re already late. Kirby tries to apologise to Bree but Bree just abruptly leaves. Despite everyone telling him they don’t have time, Remi goes after her, saying to give him thirty minutes. As they walk through a park area, Bree says Kirby wasn’t the real problem, she just doesn’t want to say goodbye. Remi suggests she come with them and they get a motel room on their own, but she says she’ll be fine. Kirby, Eden, Theo and Cash turn up in the van. Bree tells Kirby they’ll forget it ever happened. Remi says goodbye to Bree and she and Cash wave the band off, although she still looks less than happy.
