Extended Summary

Justin and Theo come back from a surf and Kirby comments on Theo being both a champion surfer and golfer. Justin didn’t know Theo played golf and cheerily announces that Theo’s now on his team for the charity tournament. With Theo unable to get a word in, Justin says he’ll sort out a training schedule. After Justin’s gone, Kirby wryly comments that Theo maybe should have told him he’s on John’s team.

Outside the Lyrik house, Bree tells Remi about what a mess Dean looked. Remi suggests Cash will sort it out. Bree says she’s seen Dean and Ziggy together and knows they’re not like her and Jacob. She says she wanted to protect Ziggy and make the call for her because she wishes someone would do that for her. Remi says he’s there for her if she gives the word.

At the surf club, Dean is on the phone to Mackenzie and says to tell Ziggy he loves her and the baby. Cash comes in and Dean sarcastically asks if he’s going to arrest him for something he hasn’t done, not happy that Cash is going for a meal. Cash says he’ll get onto the case once he’s taken statements from Ziggy and Bree. Upstairs in Salt, Theo is telling Kirby that golf is about technique, not strength, so the sexes can play equally. Rose listens from the bar, smiling. Cash joins her and says it’s been a long day.

Justin accepts a takeaway from Irene at the Diner. Marilyn chimes in that Roo texted to say everything’s going well, and hopes they come back with more than a voucher. Justin says that, with Leah and Roo on the case, they’re bound to get something. He adds that he’s going to win now he has Theo on his team. Irene and Marilyn tell him that Theo’s on John’s team. Justin protests that Theo is Leah’s nephew.

Back at Salt, Kirby expresses bemusement that rock star Theo is into golf. Theo says he used to sneak into the course but Kirby thinks that’s low key as far s rebellions go. Nearby, Cash tells Rose he thinks Dean is innocent. Rose says procedures are there for a reason. Cash gets a text and says he has to go.

Bree and Remi are waiting outside the house. Cash arrives and Bree tells him she was wrong about Ziggy and Dean. Cash asks why she changed her mind. Bree says she was projecting and that she’d like to report her husband: She’s the one in an abusive relationship. The three of them head down the station. Remi offers to go in with Bree but she says she’s going to have to say things she’s not proud of. Cash takes Bree into the interview room. She says she’s ready and he starts the recording.

Theo and Kirby turn up at the Morgan house where they’re surprised by Justin, who calls Theo a traitor for signing up to John’s team. Theo says he didn’t get a chance to tell him. Justin says they’ll call it a misunderstanding but Theo is on his team now. Theo protests that John asked him first and has been good to him. Justin says he has too and John will be fine with it. Theo asks if Justin has spoken to John, but Justin wants Theo to.

Cash asks Bree if she ever saw a doctor about her injuries. Bree says she always patched herself up and didn’t keep any records. Jacob never did anything in front of witnesses, and apart from Remi seeing her with a cut lip, she always covered up the injuries. She realises there’s no evidence. Cash says that’s not unusual: He’ll get the police in WA to interview Jacob and take out an AVO so Jacob will be arrested if he tries to contact Bree. Bree asks about Dean and Ziggy. Cash says not to worry about them. They rejoin Remi, and Cash asks him to make a statement about any injuries he’s seen. Remi says he’ll come back tomorrow to do it.

Remi and Bree head back to the Lyrik house. Remi says she’s amazing. Bree says she has a fan club of one, which Ziggy and Dean won’t be joining. Remi says she was trying to protect Ziggy. Bree worries that an AVO won’t be enough to keep Jacob away and also worries about the mess she’s made. Remi says Cash will sort it and suggests she explain to Ziggy and Dean. Bree thinks they won’t want anything to do with her. Next morning, Remi finds Dean getting dressed outside the surf club and realises he slept in his car. He asks to talk to him about Bree. Dean doesn’t think anything justifies what she’s done but Remi persists.

Justin, Theo and Kirby arrive at the Diner. Justin has offered to buy breakfast and has also accepted both Theo and Kirby on his team. Rose listens in as Irene asks how John feels about it. Justin admits he doesn’t know and Marilyn says that’s not very fair on John. Justin suggests keeping quiet as a tactic while Theo still isn’t sure about joining him. Justin says they’ll discuss it at home and insists Theo leave with him. Kirby asks Irene for scrambled egg and juice on Justin’s tab. Rose sits with Kirby and offers to give her help on golf. Back at the house, Justin gets off a call with a customer. Theo says he doesn’t want to let John down. Justin says he’s done a lot for Theo too and if he had a son, he’d do this stuff with him. Theo agrees to be on his team. Justin asks how he’s going to break it to John.

Remi tells Dean that he knows he and Ziggy have been through hell but Bree thought she was doing the right thing and asks Dean to forgive her. Cash approaches and tells Dean there’ll be no charges and the case is closed. Dean comments on him wasting his time. Cash says Dean can give him a hard time or go home to Ziggy.

Back at the house, Bree worries to Remi about Jacob showing up, saying he has a key to the motel and knows where she works. Remi suggests they go away until it quietens down. They tense up when there’s a knock at the door but it’s Dean. He says where he grew up, he saw a lot of bad stuff and his best mate’s family was torn apart by it: He’s sorry for what Bree’s gone through with Jacob but he’d never hit Ziggy. Bree apologises and Dean says it’s over and he’s going home. Bree realises Remi told Dean and thanks him.

Rose is tutoring Kirby in Lyrik’s garden, showing her how to swing the club. Kirby complains about not getting to hit anything and says drunk minigolf is more fun. Rose says she thought it was boring when her dad first took her to play golf but then she started winning and also enjoyed spending time with him. They banter about writing songs about golf before Theo turns up and asks to speak to Kirby inside. He says they’re Team Morgan: Justin gave him a guilt-trip like a sad rescue puppy but John will be just as bad. Kirby says he has to either stand up to Justin or tell John he’s pulling out.
