Extended Summary

Dean continues to argue about Justin changing Ziggy’s hours. Justin claims he’s being nice to her: He isn’t cutting her pay or changing her job title but things have changed. He walks away. Back at the motel, Jacob wonders why Bree isn’t happy he’s staying. Bree claims she is but she’d got herself psyched up to say goodbye to him. Jacob says he hates being away from her so he wants to stay and fix things. Bree continues to look horrified as he hugs her.

Mackenzie serves Remi at Salt and says she understands having feelings for someone that’s taken. Remi thanks her for oversharing but says she’s got it wrong. Mackenzie advises him to walk away but he says she doesn’t know what she’s talking about. At the Diner, John complains to Irene that he waited ages outside the garage for his car to be serviced and no-one turned up. Xander and Rose arrive, arguing about how to spend their day off: Rose doesn’t like the idea of going bowling and Xander doesn’t like the idea of watching a cop movie. John sarcastically suggests they open a garage and more seriously suggests they do some work at the surf club. Irene says they’re not going to do chores for him. As John leaves, Rose thanks Irene. John calls back that he heard that.

Justin returns to the surf club and asks Dean where Ziggy’s gone, since she’s meant to have opened the garage. Dean says she went to Yabbie Creek and reminds him he cut her hours. Justin protests that he didn’t mean straightaway and now has angry calls from customers again. On cue, John arrives, complaining about his service. Justin says he can do it that afternoon and offers to pick the car up.

Back at the Diner, Irene serves Rose and Xander, who banter about the chances of getting through the day without killing each other. Xander asks Rose about the dating app and Rose suggests Xander ask out one of the nurses Bree said were after him. Xander rushes off after challenging her to a game of pool.

Remi is currently occupying the pool table at the surf club. John tries to wind him up about his lack of work. Remi snaps at him, saying he’s not in the mood. Bree and Jacob come in and Jacob tells Dean about staying in town, asking his advice in getting a board. While Dean and Jacob joke about the colour, Remi looks quizzically at Bree who shrugs awkwardly.

Remi goes home and has flashbacks to seeing evidence Jacob was hurting Bree and her telling him to stay out of it. He rings Bree, who is at Salt; Jacob is at the bar with Mackenzie. She confirms Jacob’s with her. Remi asks why Jacob ended up staying and says he wants to help her. Bree says she can’t talk now and hangs up. Jacob asks who was on the phone. Bree says it was work and explains her mood by saying a patient died.

Justin arrives at the surf club to collect John’s car but John says it’s at home. Dean comments on Justin’s poor communication skills. Justin offers to go and get the car if John gives him the keys. John says he doesn’t want to be difficult so he’ll bring the car there later. After Justin’s gone, Dean tells John about Justin cutting Ziggy’s hours and John says Justin should stop managing the band and concentrate on the garage. Nearby, Xander and Rose are playing pool and Xander exchanges smiles with Stacey, who is at the juice bar. Rose says if she wins the game, Xander has to go and get Stacey’s number. Xander agrees on condition that if he wins, Rose has to arrange a date with the next guy that messages her on the app.

Remi goes to the Parata house looking for Cash but no-one is home. He leaves a note for Cash saying he needs advice about something and to call him. He heads out into the road and walks out behind John’s car as he’s reversing. Remi tries to ask John if Bree was still at the surf club but John insists he doesn’t keep tabs on everyone. After getting annoyed, Remi apologises.

In their motel room, Jacob is looking up rentals on his phone while Bree is focused on her laptop. Jacob says he’s looking forward to it after seven years of living out of a suitcase and tries to show her a property near the beach. Bree isn’t really paying attention and tells him she’s been looking into jobs in the area and there’s nothing suitable for him. Jacob accuses her of not wanting him to stay.

Xander chats briefly to Stacey before she leaves. He tells Rose that she’s seeing someone…him, if he calls her and arranges something. He tries to get Rose to arrange a date as well. Remi turns up and asks Dean about Bree. Dean says she left with Jacob. Remi asks if he knows where they’re staying. Dean thinks they wouldn’t want him turning up but doesn’t know anyway.

Jacob angrily tells Bree he supported her for years. Bree agrees but says she’d have to take time off work when they have a baby which means Jacob needs to have a job. She suggests that he does another three month rotation and, while he’s doing that, she’ll find a job for him there. She says they’ve been apart longer in the past and survived. Later, Jacob is packing but still isn’t happy about being away from Bree that long. However, he is looking forward to starting a family. They say goodbye and Jacob leaves. Bree looks utterly lost.

Dean is talking to Mackenzie outside the surf club about Justin. Mackenzie says she wouldn’t penalise someone for being pregnant but they don’t know Justin’s doing that and Dean should let Ziggy handle it. Dean sees Justin on the phone organising a gig for Lyrik and accuses him of blaming Ziggy because he dropped the ball. Justin says the problem is Ziggy not turning up. Dean insists Justin’s to blame.

Later, Justin is trying to appease another customer on the phone as John finally turns up with the keys, having spent half an hour getting a coffee. He reminds Justin the customer is always right. His patience gone, Justin tells John to service the car himself.

Bree is sat outside Lyrik’s house, sobbing. Remi turns up and asks what’s happened. Bree reminds him that he said she could come to him and collapses into his arms, saying she doesn’t know what to do.
