Extended Summary

Tane and Felicity are walking towards the surf club. Felicity is keen to get back to hospital even though Cash is stable, contemplating getting him some proper food. She then gets a call from Bree and tells Tane that she needs to go in straightaway. Tane offers to go with her but Felicity tells him to go to work. At the hospital, Bree tells Felicity that Cash is doing fine physically but she’s worried about his psychological state and says he was asking for her. Although somewhat bewildered, Felicity goes in to see him. Cash abruptly asks where she’s been, then asks her what it feels like to have a nervous breakdown.

Irene serves Rose at the Diner, asking her if she wants her usual and asking for news on Cash. Rose has nothing and just asks for her coffee. She goes upstairs and gives the coffee to Xander, saying at least it’s hot, then says she’s going for a drive since she’s fed up of people asking her about Cash. Xander doesn’t think she’s in the right frame of mind to drive and tells her to come with him.

At the surf club, Justin buys some wax off Dean and chats to him about the trouble Ziggy got into looking for a van. Dean says they found her car, minus the wheels, but he doubts they’ll find the guy that took it. Justin tells him about buying the van himself. He is thrown to see Tane there and asks him about the bikies. Tane tells him to mind his own business. He takes some boxing gear out to Xander and Rose. They have a brief catch-up but Rose is irritated when he tries to talk about Felicity going to see Cash.

Felicity is more than a little frustrated that the first time Cash has asked her for help is about losing his mind. Cash says he doesn’t understand how it felt and it feels like he’s falling and doesn’t know how to stop. He asks her to help him. Meanwhile, Rose hits the pads in Xander’s hands, having flashbacks to her relationship with Tex, the raid and Cash being injured before collapsing, exhausted.

Cash apologises to Felicity. Felicity thinks Cash always does the right thing. Cash says Rose didn’t see it and maybe Marty was defending himself. Felicity abruptly leaves, stopping to tell Bree to keep an eye on him and filling her in on their father’s suicide. Back at the flat, Rose is now more relaxed and thanks Xander for keeping her sane. She is about to go to bed when Felicity turns up and tries to get Rose to talk to Cash. Rose says she just made things worse when she did and none of them saw what happened. Felicity says there must be a report. Rose says there is but it’s an ongoing investigation. Felicity blames Rose for Cash being injured. Rose tries to point out interfering with the investigation could put Tane at risk but Felicity just tells her to make sure nothing goes wrong.

Tane finishes off a class on the beach while Dean sets up for a surf lesson nearby. Dean says he knows there’s more to the bikie business since he was there when Felicity was arrested for no reason. He says Tane can unload to him if he needs to. Tane walks away and runs into Felicity, who asks him to hold her. Later, Dean comes back from a surf and finds Tane waiting for him. Tane says he could smash Ari for putting him in this. Dean mentions that Felicity told him about Ari stealing money from the bikies and using it to buy the gym. Tane tells him about Ari giving it to Mia and not wanting to touch it, but eventually deciding to use it to try and make things better for his family, and now Tane’s stuck paying the price.

Cash is suspicious at how often Bree is checking on him. Rose turns up and asks to have a moment alone with Cash. Cash nods and Bree leaves. Rose produces the case file and reminds him that giving it to him is a breach of protocol. She says she hasn’t read it herself so they can look at it together. Later, Cash is looking through the photographs. Felicity listens from the door as Rose finds a statement from a passing jogger who saw Cash chasing Marty, Marty stopping and shooting Cash twice, and Cash shooting him while injured. Rose and Felicity are both pleased. Rose says she’ll take the file back and Felicity thanks her. Felicity asks Cash if it helped. He doesn’t answer.

Rose heads back to the flat and tells Xander that she’s taken the file back and no-one can know she took it. She tells Xander it showed Cash had done nothing wrong. Xander convinces her to move on. Back at the hospital, Felicity cheerily brings Cash some sandwiches but Cash remains withdrawn. She admits she doesn’t know what to do but suggests the case file made him feel better. Cash says he doesn’t feel anything and asks her to let him go back to sleep. Felicity leaves, again telling Bree to keep an eye on him.

Dean and Tane are sharing a drink at Salt. Tane recalls trying to stop Ari using the money. Dean says Ari made mistakes but expected to be around to protect everyone. Tane says it’s up to him now and Dean says he’s not alone. They drink a toast to Ari. Tane offers another round but then gets a call from Felicity and has to go. He tells Dean he’ll shout next time. Back at the Parata house, Felicity pours herself a coffee but then knocks the cup on the floor, spilling most of it. Tane comes home to her mopping up. Felicity bursts into tears and says she doesn’t know how to be the strong one for Cash. Tane comforts her.
