Extended Summary

Irene and Jasmine are walking near the Diner. Irene asks if Jasmine’s missing Cash. Jasmine says Felicity’s keeping her busy. Felicity suddenly jumps on Jasmine, announcing she’s woken up, and invites Irene to join them. Irene says she’d rather swallow a hammer. Felicity says Tane’s at work and convinces Jasmine to spend time with her. Not far away, Chloe meets up with Matthew: He was supposed to be involved with a big case but it got adjourned. He invites her to have lunch with him. Chloe initially says she has to work on the cooking roster at the Diner but then agrees.

At the Diner flat, Nikau ignores a text from John asking him to reconsider. Bella points out to him that he saved a life today and needed to find out what he could do. Meanwhile, Alf and Marilyn enter the Diner. Alf is on the phone to Roo and tells Marilyn that she’s fine. Irene comes over and jokingly reminds Marilyn she’s meant to be working. Marilyn says she wanted to come back to work but thinks she might not have been ready.

At the gym, Tane checks with Mia that he can finish early to look after Felicity. Ari produces a roster and Tane realises he’s down to do two classes at the same time on Thursday. Ari says he’ll make adjustments. Once Tane’s gone, Mia notes she knows Ari’s doing the boring jobs to make things up to her but is happy to let him. She gets a text from Chloe about Matthew being in town. Up in Salt, Felicity brings Jasmine a tray of shots, saying she only got Jasmine tiny drinks and noting her last drinking buddy tried to murder her. When she threatens to drink them all herself, Jasmine reluctantly downs one. She notes Felicity hasn’t been answering Cash’s texts and tries to get her to go to the memorial. Felicity just texts back saying she’s with Jasmine and all is good.

Downstairs, Ari suggests talking to Matthew again but Mia says they can’t punch their way out of it. Chloe and Matthew appear. Ari asks Matthew how his jaw is. Matthew says it’s getting there and tells Chloe he’ll meet her upstairs. Chloe says she wants her parents to get on and announces she’s inviting Matthew over for dinner. She heads up to Salt, phoning Nikau and arranging for him and Bella to be there. She tells Matthew about the invite. Matthew considers it walking into the lion’s den. Chloe says it would mean the world to her and Matthew notes this is what it’s like to be manipulated by your daughter.

Mia seems to be struggling to chooose an outfit as she declares the situation a nightmare but tells Ari they can’t cancel because of what he did. She says to put on happy faces. Matthew and Chloe turn up; Matthew has a bottle of wine. Chloe announces that they’re all going to prepare the meal together. The others note they were surprised by the invite. Later, Bella and Nikau have joined them as Chloe serves tacos, saying they’re better without Ryder over-seasoning them. Nikau asks how Matthew and Mia met and Matthew says they met at a mutual friend’s party. Bella jokingly calls Mia a party girl and Mia snaps that there’s nothing wrong with that. Matthew says they danced a lot and briefly saw each other. Mia denies it. Matthew says there’s two sides to the story, Mia says sometimes one side’s wrong and Matthew says memory is skewed. Mia excuses herself and Ari follows, leaving the others to eat. Mia says she feels trapped and sick.

Jasmine steers Felicity into the gym and tells Tane that it’s his turn to look after her, since she’s had enough. Jasmine leaves and Felicity starts given drunken advice to the gym users. Tane has to stop her putting extra weights on as someone is lifting. He tells her it’s Ari’s business and his job, so he can’t let her mess with it. He sits her down and gives her water, telling her to stay there.

Bella and Nikau have retired to his bedroom. Nikau ignores a text from John. Bella says she understands him being freaked out and a situation like that going wrong is always a possibility. She says it’s okay if he decides it’s not for him but he did really want the job. Nikau calls John back. Meanwhile, Alf arrives home and finds Marilyn sitting on her own. She says she needs to leave Summer Bay in order to reset. Alf wonders where she’ll go and she says she’ll visit Jett and check up on Raffy. She says she’ll leave first thing in the morning.

Jasmine arrives at the Diner on the phone to Cash. Irene wonders why she’s telling him everything is fine. Jasmine says Felicity’s like a hurricane if it was fun and drank a lot. Irene suggests letting her blow herself out. At the gym, Felicity is wandering around again, complaining about people being at the gym so late. Tane sits her down in a chair, saying he needs to fix the rosters and then he’ll take her to Salt. As soon as he’s in the office, she slips out.

At the Diner, Matthew and Chloe chat about the tension before Matthew congratulates her on her tacos, saying she could start a franchise. He notes he knows a prestigious business school some friends went to and will pay for her to go there. Meanwhile, Jasmine is searching outside the surf club and finds Felicity drinking with a couple of guys. She threatens to report them for drinking in a public place. The guys drive off and Jasmine lectures Felicity about letting Cash deal with the memorial on his own. Felicity says Jasmine isn’t her friend or her sister, just someone who sleeps with her brother. She storms off.
