A new arrival ruffles local law enforcement. Will Ari listen to Mia’s request? Can Christian get Tori to tell her brother about London?

Extended Summary

Cash meets up with Jasmine at Salt for lunch. She produces glasses of sparkling water (since he’s still on duty) and explains she’s sold the gym. Cash asks how Ari and Mia feel about it and Jasmine says they’re just as excited as her. At that moment, Ari is sinking onto his bed with his head in his hands. He tells Mia that he’s spent a decade trying to forget about the money and it tore them apart. Mia says something good can come out of it and they can make the adoption happen but Ari says nothing good will come of it. He walks out.

John finds Alf sat outside the Diner on his own with the large picnic. Marilyn tries to get John to come inside. John asks how she stopped Mrs Pearl’s spaniel, Trixibelle, messing up their lawn. Marilyn says she got Mrs Pearl to fix the fence but John says she pretends to be deaf and between her and the hippies who moved into the Braxtons’ old place it’s not worth living there. He heads off, taking some of the picnic with him. Marilyn commiserates with Alf over not getting to spend time with Martha but says he married a strong, intelligent, creative woman. Alf replies that he married a woman he wanted to spend time with. At the Morgan house, Tori and Christian are getting Grace ready to go out. Christian asks if she’s heard about her application. Justin asks what application. Tori says it was a credit card application and they quickly head out. Justin ponders the lack of a snappy comeback as Leah suggests they make the most of the time before she has to go back to work…

As Tori and Christian walk with Grace, Christian asks why she’s keeping London a secret from Justin. Tori obfuscates by saying Justin knows what London is, then says she probably won’t get the job anyway. Christian encourages her to have more confidence in herself, before saying if she doesn’t tell Justin, he will, either accidentally or on purpose. Tori insists she’ll wait until the time’s right. They head to Salt and run into Jasmine and Cash. Tori is intrigued about them being together. Jasmine tells her about selling the gym and Tori is fine with it. Christian again encourages Tori to talk to Justin.

Jasmine and Cash head downstairs and run into Ari. Shooting nervous looks at Cash, he asks to have a word. He tells Jasmine they need to take back their deposit and can’t go through with the sale. Outside, John complains to Cash about a woman ignoring water restrictions to wash her car. Cash says it’s not his department. John wonders what power starting a Neighbourhood Watch would give him and Cash says he wouldn’t be an honorary officer of the law. Cash goes over to Jasmine, who tells him about the deal being off. Cash recalls Ari being on edge but thinks it was because he was about to give bad news. He suggests Jasmine call Mia.

Leah arrives back at the Diner and Marilyn asks if she had a nice “lunch” with Justin. Alf is finishing off a phone conversation with Martha. He explains to Leah that she and Roo are being taken out for a flash dinner by the mental health lot. Marilyn tells Leah about the picnic. Leah says she and Justin are like two ships in the night but Alf says at least they spend time in the same place. Meanwhile, Tori and Christian arrive home with Grace. Christian tells Tori to talk to Justin, stopping her attempt to stall and put Grace down for a nap by saying he’ll do it. Tori tries to say Justin’s working but he gives her his attention, thinking she wants to extend the honeymoon. Tori tells him she’s applied for a job, eventually admitting it’s in London. Justin is surprised, since he thought she was happy there, but wishes her luck, saying they’re not on their own anymore: He has Leah and she has Christian.

Alf tells Leah her comment about ships in the night has given him an idea. Leah asks if she’s going to go and see Roo and Martha in the city. Alf tells her and Marilyn that he’s going fishing. Nearby, Mia joins Jasmine who tells her about what Ari said. Mia passes it off as a misunderstanding. Jasmine says if they’re not buying the gym she’ll put it back on the market. Mia heads home and finds Ari searching the house, looking for the rest of the money. Mia denies that it’s still in the storage unit, even though Ari has noticed the key’s missing, and insists he hear her out and she’ll give him the money if he’s not on board.

Outside the Diner, John tries to get Leah to sign a petition to get a zebra crossing put on the road up top. Leah refuses to sign it without reading it. Marilyn asks if John doesn’t have anything better to do and he tells her he makes work for himself. Justin appears and signs the petition without looking at it. Leah says he could have signed a kidney away and Justin notes it’s not much good anyway. He notes that he has some news for Leah. That evening. Leah, Christian, Tori and Justin are having dinner together with Tori considering booking a function at the zoo for the wedding. Leah wants to celebrate the job and Tori says she hasn’t even got an interview yet. Once they’re out of earshot, Justin tells Leah he doesn’t think Tori will get the job because usually the employers have someone in mind already.

Ari tells Mia he’ll clear up. Mia says she’d never been to the storage unit before today and that Ari left her the key when he went to jail and said to do whatever she wanted with the money. She says it’s a means to getting approved for adoption. Ari wants to find another way but Mia insists there isn’t one and says they’ve both done their time. At the gym, Jasmine is on the phone to the estate agent. Ari and Mia turn up and Mia says they’re both on board with buying the gym. Jasmine is pleased but Ari doesn’t look too certain.

Next morning, Jasmine is going for a run. John accosts her and tries to get her to sign the petition. Cash pulls up in his police car and good-naturedly asks if John’s harassing her. A car suddenly speeds past. Cash goes after it and pulls it over. The driver, Theo, claims there’s a family emergency: His aunt’s just died and they want to all meet up. Cash says he’ll give him a police escort. At the Morgan house, Justin is preparing breakfast. Cash arrives with Theo. Justin has no idea who he is but Leah recognises him as her nephew. With the others out of earshot, Cash drily asks if Leah is Theo’s dead aunt. Theo claims she was just ill but Cash gives him a ticket for speeding and warns him against lying to a police officer. He leaves and Theo passes it off to Leah and Justin as a misunderstanding. Leah introduces Justin and Theo to each other. Theo admits his dad’s kicked him out and he had nowhere else to go.
