Extended Summary

Tori and Christian are at Salt together; Christian has just returned from the city and notes he missed Tori while he was there. Jasmine is at the bar and Christian waves to her; she waves back before returning her attention to her phone. Tori thinks things are awkward but Christian still thinks she’s making things harder than they need to be. Back at the Morgan house, Leah has just got Grace to sleep, while Justin is looking through garage paperwork and finds invoices and bills unpaid. He is hoping to go back to work soon but Leah is worried he’ll jeopardise his recovery. Tori and Christian turn up. Justin tries to talk to Christian but Tori says he’s there as her boyfriend, not Justin’s doctor, and they head for the bedroom.

Ziggy is struggling to get work done at home, but when she gets a text from Justin asking about the garage, she replies that it’s all good. At the Parata house, Ari returns home. Tane thought he was staying at Mackenzie’s. Ari shows him the text from Paul. Next morning, Ari wonders if Tane could find the warehouse where he first met Paul. He gets a text from Mackenzie and tells Tane she can’t know anything, since they might be being watched. He says they need to look as though they’re scoping out for the job.

Things are somewhat hectic at the Morgan house, with Tori and Christian getting ready to take Grace on a trip out. Justin tries to talk to Christian but eventually agrees it can wait until later. He tries to suggest to Leah that he could walk her into work. She offers him a massage instead but then he gets a phone call about the garage. Outside the surf club, Ziggy runs into Tane and asks if he can help out at the garage again. Tane says he’s busy at the moment but can come in later. Ari appears and he and Tane leave. Ziggy then gets a call from Justin and races to the garage. Murray and other police are searching the place. Justin tells Ziggy they’re looking for stolen goods.

Tori delivers a big speech about how Robbo will always be Grace’s father and Jasmine will always be part of her life but she and Christian need to be able to express affection in public…then turns to Christian and asks what he thought. Christian is playing with Grace and wasn’t really listening but puts her off a bit with interjections about how Jasmine has already said it’s fine. At the garage, Justin explains to Ziggy that the policeman he spoke to was from Lake Cora, about an hour away. It doesn’t mean anything to Ziggy and all Justin knows is that it’s to do with an active investigation and the police have a search warrant. He sends Ziggy away, then calls Leah.

Tori and Christian come into the Diner, where Jasmine is at the counter. Christian tries to get Tori to talk to her but Tori makes excuses and lets Jasmine leave without her seeing them. Leah finishes her phone call and tells Tori and Christian about the police being at the garage. Meanwhile, Murray is filling Justin in: A guy was arrested driving a stolen car and had the garage’s address on his burner phone. They’re not sure why but he has a lengthy rap sheet. Ziggy arrives back at the farm and leaves a message for Tane saying they’ve got a problem.

At the Diner, Justin fills Leah, Tori and Christian in on the police search and notes the guy was arrested around the time Tane started work at the garage. He wants to talk to Ziggy: He doesn’t think she was involved but she seemed rattled. Christian pointedly compliments Justin on being prepared to have a difficulty conversation. Tori wearily agrees to talk to Jasmine. Meanwhile, Ari and Tane arrive home. Tane notes the club was quiet today but will get a lot of takings on Saturday. Ari says Paul knows how to pick a target. Tane thinks if they did have to do the job, it’d be easy. Ari is exasperated and isn’t convinced it’d get Paul off their backs but Tane is prepared to do it without him.

Tori finds Jasmine outside the surf club. Jasmine is on her way to do interviews for gym manager. Tori makes a speech about how their lives are complicated but she and Christian can’t tiptoe around her. Jasmine says she’s happy to stay out of it, she just needs to know there’s a place for her in Grace’s life, which Tori agrees there is. Then Jasmine goes to the interviews, leaving Tori wrongfooted. Back at the Morgan house, Justin finally gets to ask Christian about going back to work. Christian says it’s basically up to Justin but he’d like to do scans first. Justin also asks about the physical side, saying it’s been a long time for him and Leah, and Christian reiterates that they should wait for the scans. Tori comes home and asks what they were talking about; they awkwardly say footy. Justin goes to talk to Ziggy. Tori admits Christian was right about Jasmine being fine. Christian wishes he had that in writing.

Tane points out that Ari doesn’t have a plan. Ari thinks they should call Paul’s bluff and say they don’t care if he goes to the police. If it backfires, Tane would probably get a good behaviour bond and Ari would rather go to jail than have one of them get hurt. Tane agrees to talk about it if things get that far. He then gets a call from Ziggy and goes to the farm. Ziggy tells him about the police at the garage. Tane doesn’t think it’s anything to worry about, since he had nothing to do with Lake Cora, but Ziggy worries about the van being found with her fingerprints on it. She says Justin’s waiting for her. Tane advises her to pretend not to know anything but Ziggy doesn’t want to lie to him and feels she’s let him down.

Tane goes to the garage ahead of Ziggy and tells Justin he used the garage to move stolen goods and it’s all on him. Ziggy arrives as Tane is leaving and Justin tells her they need to talk. Back at the Morgan house, Tori says Grace is sleeping and notes Justin’s recovering and everything’s sorted with Jasmine. Christian says they need to have a serious talk: He misses her when he’s not there and wants to move to the Bay permanently.

Ziggy apologises to Justin and says she got rid of the van as soon as she found out about it. Justin asks why she didn’t tell him or indeed the police. Ziggy says Tane was in a bad way and she was helping a friend. Justin suspiciously points out she got Dean a job there and ended up sleeping with him. Ziggy tells him to fire her if he wants but not accuse her of something he knows nothing about. She storms out.
