Extended Summary
Mason is setting up for a session on the beach. Justin approaches and says he didn’t hear him come in. Mason tells him about joining Alex and Robbo for the hypnotherapy session and how it seemed to go well. Justin observes he seems to be a fan of Alex; Mason says not like that, he just likes how she thinks outside the box. Both of them hope it will be over soon. Justin passes Willow, who Mason also starts gushing about Alex to. At the motel, Jasmine wakes up alone and finds Robbo in the evidence room. He prints out a picture of the boat he saw and calls someone about hospital records, telling Jasmine there’s no record on CCTV of the boat arriving at a marina but not all of them have it. Jasmine convinces him to take a break for food and a shower.
Irene serves Roo at the Diner. Ryder comes in wondering where Bella is. Irene, Leah and Roo explain that she and Colby are with the lawyer, going over her evidence. Ryder decides to text her. Outside, Alf sees Marilyn and Raffy who have just been on a walk. Marilyn is also teaching Raffy medication. Ryder appears and asks Raffy how she is; Raffy rather bluntly says she’s fine and walks off, with Marilyn trailing. Alf asks Ryder how things are between them and Ryder says it’s up to her whether they’re friends.
Mason and Willow head back towards the surf club, with Willow a bit bored of Mason’s constant talk about how great what Alex did was. They run into John, who Mason asks about Raffy, as does Ryder when he comes along. Mason goes off to meet her while John ropes Ryder into helping clean the polaris. Back at the Diner, Irene chats to Leah about how she’s worried about Bella. Roo calls her over and shows her the response to Leah’s blog on her laptop, which is full of supportive messages, saying everyone’s behind her.
As Robbo and Jasmine eat, Robbo learns there were no hospital admissions for gunshot wounds around the time Carter was injured, meaning he must have been patched up on the quiet. Jasmine muses about medical supplies: A backstreet doctor would be unlikely to have the sedation drugs needed for the operation so they must have been got from a hospital. She writes a list of what would be needed as Robbo rings Lance and asks him to check out hospital break-ins around that time; Jasmine adds to check veterinary surgeries too. Later, Jasmine, with her bodyguard in tow, meets up with Willow near the surf club. After a brief catch-up about Robbo, she asks for a workout.
Marilyn is guiding Raffy through a meditation exercise on the wharf. Mason approaches but keeps at a distance until she’s finished. Mason and Raffy decide to go for a walk. Raffy is rather bemused that she has an acupuncture appointment tomorrow but Mason thinks it’s a viable alternative therapy. Outside the surf club, Ryder tries to query why he’s doing John’s job without pay while John tries to give him advice on being friends with an ex. Ryder is shocked when he mentions Raffy’s recent stay in hospital and runs off.
Ryder runs up to Raffy and Mason on the beach, asking if Raffy had another seizure. Raffy doesn’t really want to talk about it and, when Ryder tries to maintain that they’re friends, insists that they’re not. She walks off and Mason somewhat apologetically follows her. At the gym, Willow leads Jasmine in a boxing session. Jasmine asks after Irene, saying to pass on her love, and they muse that in 48 hours it’ll all be over. Jasmine says she misses hanging out and hopes things will be over for her and Robbo soon.
With Leah, Roo and Marilyn chatting nearby, Irene continues to look through the comments. The last one says they know who it’s about and provides a link to an article about Irene’s arrest: The comments there are a lot less sympathetic, referencing her alcoholism, abandoning her children and being a murder suspect and saying abuse is no excuse for what she did. She runs out, upset. Leah and Roo find her on the wharf; Leah has deleted the link. Irene worries the jury could still see it and they point out jurors will have to declare it if they do. Irene says Leah and Roo are on her side because they know her but the jury won’t. They try and convince her she and Bella will get them to know her.
Mason and Raffy are sat at the edge of the beach. Raffy suggests that she might need another week off school. Mason guesses the real reason: She doesn’t want to have to see Ryder. He knows that it isn’t easy but reminds her that Ryder has been a good friend to her for ages and cares about her. He suggests she finds a way to deal with it. Meanwhile, Jasmine arrives back at the motel. Robbo tells her there were three break-ins in the time frame and he’s going to check if everything on her list was taken. He gets a text saying “Hope wifey enjoyed her workout. Time’s running out.” He lets Jasmine think it’s from Lance, saying it’s nothing he didn’t know. Jasmine suggests going for a run but Robbo asks her to stay and help.
Outside the Diner, Justin tells Leah about the developments that mean Tori might be home soon. Leah is reluctant to go out for dinner and leave Irene, but Irene herself comes over and tells them to go. Shortly after, at Salt, Justin asks Ryder how he’s handling the bar work. Ryder notes life is where he has a problem but he can’t say any more because it concerns Justin’s sister. Raffy herself comes in, being more pleasant to Ryder than she was previously, and asks if they can talk outside. Justin rejoins Leah at their table, hoping Raffy goes easy on Ryder, while Leah worries about Irene.
Back at the Diner, Irene tries to convince Marilyn to leave her to close up. John arrives to pick up Marilyn but she’s prepared to let him wait. Irene says she’ll probably clean the fryer and Marilyn leaves after saying Irene only has one more day of waiting. Once alone, Irene starts writing a note to Leah that begins “By the time you get this I’ll be gone”…
