Extended Summary

Brody tells Simone to wait until he finishes then they can talk. Simone is still somewhat confused as to why she’s there. Ben and Maggie come in; they are surprised to see Simone and she says she came to pick up a knife she forgot and heads towards the kitchen. The Astonis explain it’s their date night. Meanwhile, the wedding group including Ziggy, Colby, Chelsea, Dean, Willow, Bella, Robbo and Jasmine are sat around a camp fire. Dean says the best party he can remember is Colby’s 18th. The others recall he started a fire. Dean protests that it was fireworks and Taz got dodgy ones, although the others suggest the twelve beers Dean drank before setting them up didn’t help. Bella recalls he burnt down Mr McKinnon’s barn. Dean says he deserved it for calling the cops on them a week earlier (adding that cops provide a valuable service) and the others remember he set his rottweilers on Dean. Dean offers another story to Colby involving the words chilli and blindfold.

Alf, Leah, John and Marilyn are closing things up at the Diner. John notes that the wedding will probably be over now and anticipates they’ll be passed out or drunk. Alf recalls going to a River Boy wedding that wasn’t too rowdy; John asks if that’s the one where the bride punched the groom or the one where they actually got hitched. Marilyn says she’ll close up and accuses John of having no romance, he responds by dancing with her which gets a thoughtful look from Alf. Meanwhile, Tori shuts herself in the bathroom at home and takes out a pregnancy test.

Robbo and Jasmine look over their photos of the event. Colby finds Bella, who notes it’s a shame Michelle couldn’t be there and she would have loved it. She recalls Chelsea welcoming her into the family and asks if Michelle’s death could have been an accident. Colby says she knows the answer to that: Ross would never have let her go. He refuses to discuss it any further, refusing to let Ross ruin the day. Meanwhile, Brody gives Ben the meal on the house and, after he and Maggie have gone, tells a server, Jess, they’re closing. At the party, Ziggy drags Jasmine up to dance. Brody goes into the store room where Simone is waiting. As Ziggy continues dancing, Brody and Simone passionately kiss.

Dean calls for everyone’s attention, prompting sarcastic comments from Willow and Ziggy. He says he thinks Colby’s an absolute fool but accepts his choice and it seems to be the day for getting things right that you got wrong the first time. He whistles and a fabulous fireworks display springs up behind him. Everyone is impressed. Back at Salt, Brody and Simone adjust their clothes and Simone asks what changed. Brody says nothing: He just couldn’t stop thinking about her. Simone is aghast that he’s still with Ziggy, saying she didn’t come there to break up a marriage and he should have worked out what he wanted before having sex with her.

Ziggy has passed out and Dean drapes a blanket over her, calling her lightweight. Robbo and Jasmine are leaving; they offer to take Ziggy but Dean says he brought her so he’ll take her back. Everyone congratulates him on the fireworks display and Bella pays attention to him and Willow. Robbo and Jasmine arrive back at the Diner flat and Robbo notes it’s nearly morning. Jasmine falls asleep on the bed mid-conversation and Robbo covers her with a blanket.

Tori looks at her test. She is upset that it’s negative. Next morning, Colby and Chelsea are lying on the wharf near the venue. Chelsea comments on the previous day and Colby notes that Nugget and his dad will want the house back soon. He tells her he’s arranged for them to go away for a couple of days and for Bella to stay at Irene’s, and about the limo. He notes that for the first time ever he feels excited about the future.

Brody is outside the surf club; he has a text from Simone saying they need to talk. Ziggy appears and wonders about him not coming home. He says he had an early start so slept in Salt. Ziggy claims she isn’t hungover then winces when John hoots his horn. She asks Brody for breakfast and reminds him it’s their unofficial one year anniversary – a year since Ben gave them his blessing to be together – suggesting they celebrate. Elsewhere on the beach, Tori meets with Leah and tells her about the test. She says she’s going to the clinic and now has to tell Robbo what she did for nothing.

Marilyn and Alf welcome Colby, Chelsea, Willow, Dean and Bella to the Diner. Marilyn asks about wedding photos; they admit they didn’t arrange a photographer but Jasmine took plenty. The group sit at a table while Marilyn makes breakfast. They check Bella’s okay with staying at Irene’s and Colby and Dean get permission to go for a surf before the limo arrives. Bella grabs a muffin from Marilyn’s palette. Meanwhile, Jasmine wakes up at the Diner flat and finds a note from Robbo telling her to meet him where they had their first proper date.

Jasmine meets Robbo in the park area and comments that he didn’t bring a picnic rug. Robbo says that he never thanked her: She saved his life and showed him he could have more than he thought he deserved. He produces the ring and asks her to marry him. Jasmine says of course. Back at the Morgan house, Leah asks Tori how it went at the clinic. Tori says the test was a false negative: She’s pregnant.

Willow, Chelsea and Bella are walking through a park area; Willow and Bella are going to help Dean clear up Nugget’s place afterwards. Bella offers to stay away, not because she wants to get out of the work but because she thinks Willow and Dean might want to be alone together. At the Diner flat, Colby questions Dean, having realised he wants to get back with Willow, and wonders what she wants. Willow is telling Bella she and Dean are just friends while Colby counsels Dean. A limo pulls up next to the three girls; Chelsea notes it’s early but puts her bags in and offers Willow and Bella a lift to the surf club. She tells the driver to take her to her husband. The driver’s panel slides down: The driver is Ross. Willow and Chelsea frantically try the doors but they’re locked. Ross tells them to give him their phones, producing a gun. Chelsea tells everyone to do what he says. Bella passes the phones to Ross and asks why he’s doing this. Ross doesn’t answer, instead sliding the panel up again and driving off. They head out into the bush, passing the You Are Now Leaving Summer Bay sign.
