Extended Summary

Jasmine is taking a shower near the beach as Robbo approaches. She jokes that she’d forgotten what he looks like, since they haven’t seen much of each other lately. She says she has the night off but Robbo is working. He suggests they meet for coffee in the Diner tomorrow afternoon for their first official date. Not far away, Ben asks Maggie what she wants to do. She admits that she’s not sure and doesn’t even know if she really wants to quit teaching. She decides she needs to go home, have a family meal and do paperwork.

John and Marilyn fuss over Raffy as she is brought throught to her room, but get left behind as staff settle her. Justin and Tori tell them that Raffy’s doing fine medically but has just been told about the epilepsy. John and Marilyn offer to sit with her but are told she’s not up for visitors and they should come back in the morning. Later, Justin, Mason and Tori are all in with Raffy. She asks about having to take the pills every day and is told they won’t stop the seizures completely but she’ll learn to recognise the signs. Justin assures her she can still go to school, she just needs to take more care.

Maggie is sat up, looking thoughtful, with paperwork scattered in front of her. Ben appears and wonders if she’s coming to bed, but is convinced to leave her alone. Maggie picks up a notebook and writes “What do I want from my life?” Next morning, Tori checks on Raffy who had a restless night. Raffy asks if the pills will work and Tori says they have good results but the doctors need to get the dosage right. John and Marilyn turn up and Raffy is pleased to see them, despite thinking she might have epilepsy for the rest of her life. Marilyn says she’s been doing some reading and some children grow out of epilepsy. Tori quickly says not Raffy and asks to see them outside. She says that that’s people who are born with epilepsy, not who have a brain injury, and they’ve just confused her. Marilyn says she was just trying to be positive. Tori agrees that’s a good thing but says there’s a difference between reassurance and false hope.

Ben returns home from a surf and from taking Coco to school: It’s her history exam, the last of the Year 11 exams. Maggie quickly leaves. Ben gets a call from a customer, and while looking for the paperwork he finds Maggie’s list. It consists of walking the Inca trail solo, teaching in a remote indigenous community and work. Meanwhile, Jasmine and Robbo meet up on the headland. Jasmine suggests their date seems a bit casual and they should do something they haven’t done before. Robbo agrees and suggests dinner up the coast, saying he’ll pick her up at three.

Justin runs into Ben outside the bait shop, where he’s setting up the board for the customer. Ben says to let them know when Coco can visit Raffy and admits that he’s still finding his feet with Maggie. He says the list he found seemed to be things for her to do alone. Justin is sure she wants to include him and suggests he talks to her. Later, near the surf club, Tori tells Justin she regrets the way she spoke to Marilyn. They agree that the Palmers need to be included, especially if they’re going to be looking after Raffy, but also want to keep an eye on her. They decide to talk to Mason and Brody. After Justin’s gone, Tori runs into Jasmine, who awkwardly confirms things are going well with Robbo.

Tori meets Robbo at Salt. She mentions running into Jasmine and says she understands Robbo will need to put her first sometimes. Robbo asks how things are going and Tori says she’s having blood tests that afternoon and then an ultrasound the next day to check if the drugs are working. Robbo offers to go with her to the ultrasound appointment and she agrees. Meanwhile, Maggie returns home to grab some paperwork and Ben tells her he found the list. Maggie says it was just some ideas but Ben makes it clear he doesn’t think any of it’s a good idea now and asks if she really wants to do it on her own. He says all he wants is what they have: Her healthy and the kids happy. Maggie says she just needs to work through some things on her own.

Irene, John and Marilyn turn up at the Diner, with Irene trying to reassure the others about what Tori said. John thinks they should make adjustments to the house for when Raffy comes home. Irene suggests they find out if Raffy’s actually coming back to them first but they want to show they can look after her. In the gym, Robbo is on the phone, booking a sunset cruise for dinner. Back at the Diner, Jasmine frets to Irene that she doesn’t know what to wear since she doesn’t know where they’re going. She gets a text from Robbo but it merely says he’s looking forward to it. Irene sends her off to change.

Maggie returns home for lunch and apologises for what she said before. Ben says most of his dreams involve a surfboard and her, but agrees they missed out on travelling and suggests saving up for a trip to Italy. Maggie seems less than enthusiastic but accepts his offer of doing things further down the track. Meanwhile, John and Marilyn meet Justin and Tori at Salt. The Morgan siblings explain they’ve spoken to Brody and Mason, who are with Raffy. Tori apologises for what she said earlier and says the Palmers will be kept fully informed in future. John and Marilyn say they’re going to make adjustments but Justin and Tori say it’s about what’s best for Raffy and they think that’s living with them.

At the Diner, Irene commiserates with John and Marilyn. John is annoyed that the Morgans made the decision without consulting them but Marilyn is resigned to it and decides to go home and pack up Raffy’s things. Back at the hospital, Mason is uncertain about the decision given all John and Marilyn have done for Raffy but Tori and Justin are convinced it’s the right thing for her. Justin and Mason go to see Raffy while Tori gets a call from her specialist about her results.

Jasmine joins Irene outside the Diner, having selected a dress after trying on everything she owns. Robbo arrives and greets her warmly. He gets a call from Tori and offers to send it to voicemail but Jasmine tells him to answer it. Tori says the bloods showed her hormone levels are lower than expected so the ultrasound’s been brought forward to an hour’s time. She asks if he can make it. Robbo looks torn.
