Extended Summary

Robbo is still on the phone while Jasmine tells Irene that he’s being mysterious about where they’re going. As Irene leaves, Robbo tells Jasmine about the ultrasound but insists he’s only postponing their date and they can hang out afterwards. Jasmine agrees to wait at the Diner and he says he’ll only be an hour tops. At the hospital, Justin tells Tori that Raffy’s still fragile so he thinks they should wait before telling her she’s moving back home. Tori tells him about the ultrasound and Robbo arrives to take over. He insists to Tori that she didn’t interrupt anything.

Colby and Dean are coming back from a surf. Colby teases Dean about his performance and asks about Karen; Dean responds by asking about Chelsea and they decide not to talk. Colby sees Chelsea by a police car and goes to talk to her while Dean takes a call from the clinic. Colby asks Chelsea if she’s thought about things; Chelsea sarcastically confirms that him dropping a bombshell and then proposing to her has been on her mind, but says nothing’s clearer. The other officer comes back with coffees and they leave. At Salt, Justin and Willow reflect on not having seen each other recently while he’s been at the hospital and she’s been doing community service and covering for Mason. They decide to go back to his for an early night. Colby and Dean come in and Justin goes to get the bill as Dean explains Karen hasn’t been assessed yet and isn’t allowed visitors. He decides to go check out her house and Colby offers to go with him. Willow asks Colby about Chelsea.

Tori and Robbo arrive back at the Diner (it is now dark) and comment on the results having to go to the fertility specialist. Jasmine notes he’s finally there; Tori realises they had a date and quickly leaves. Robbo suggests they have the date at the Diner after all but Jasmine is tired and decides to go home. Irene tells Robbo she waited for hours and he’d better make it up to her. Next morning, Colby and Dean prepare to set off. Colby sees Chelsea jogging nearby but they don’t talk to each other. Nearby, Robbo asks Jasmine if she’s got the day off, suggesting they do something in the afternoon. He explains about the sunset cruise and says he’s booked a boat trip down the river. Jasmine agrees.

Justin apologises to Willow for crashing out. Willow says she has to get to a class and passes Tori, who comments on not having seen her much recently. Justin admits they’ve been like ships passing in the night. He asks about the ultrasound, just before Tori gets a call from the specialist. At the Diner, Jasmine is filling Irene in on Robbo’s plans and also gives Willow the lowdown when she turns up. Tori comes in looking for Robbo and Jasmine says she’s just going to meet him. Tori realises they’ve got plans so says it was nothing but Jasmine calls after her.

Colby and Dean pull up outside Karen’s house. Colby wonders how long it is since Dean’s been inside and Dean says that apart from when he came round after jail it’s been years. They head in and Colby notes it’s cleaner than he remembers but there’s less trophies (the mantelpiece is empty). Dean goes into the kitchen and has flashbacks to Karen yelling at him and saying she hates him. Colby says they should just clean up and grab everything of value to keep it safe, as Dean has further flashbacks to him walking in on a man in Karen’s bed and being told by her to go play outside, and Karen dancing wildly. At the Diner, Chelsea asks Willow where Colby and Dean were going. Willow explains but Chelsea doesn’t say anything so Willow leaves.

At Salt, Tori explains to Jasmine that her hormone levels aren’t as high as they should be so the doctors are increasing her injections. Jasmine tries to reassure her that it doesn’t mean anything and thinks she should talk to Robbo. Tori doesn’t want to spoil their plans again and says they can talk later. At the Diner, Jasmine tells Robbo he needs to go and see Tori and their plans can wait. Robbo, slightly bemused, agrees. Jasmine comments to Irene on how things are already getting complicated.

At the Morgan house, Tori tells Robbo she feels a bit silly unloading all her insecurities on Jasmine but also tells him he’s got a good one there and should make it up to her. A short time later, Robbo meets up with Jasmine in a park area and shows her he has a picnic set up. Even though it’s only takeaway fish and beer, Jasmine assures him it makes up for things and they kiss.

Chelsea has come into the gym. Willow tries to talk to her about Colby but Chelsea says she’s just there for a workout and starts punching a bag hard. At Karen’s house, Colby finds a locked suitcase. Dean kicks the padlock away and they find it is full of Dean’s things: Medals and photos of him as a child. Dean finds a letter addressed to Karen and a newspaper cutting on a visit to Mangrove River by AFL star Rick Booth. Colby wonders why it’s there. Dean sees the date on the clipping: 16th June 1992. He refuses to read the letter.

Chelsea is still working out as Justin comes in to see Willow; however, she can’t leave because she needs to lock up and he needs to be at the hospital later because they’re running tests on Raffy. Willow approaches Chelsea who admits she does need to talk about Colby. Back in Mangrove River, Colby and Dean are loading up the ute. Colby asks why Dean doesn’t want to read the letter and says he saw the date on the clipping: Dean was born just under a year later. He guesses that Dean thinks it’s about his dad.
