Extended Summary

Outside the Morgan house, Justin is waxing his board while Brody has some cardboard boxes ready for moving out. Justin banters about finally being free of him, prompting Brody to tease him about still living with his siblings. After Brody has gone inside, Tori and Robbo pull up. Justin notes Robbo made bail and Tori awkwardly says he’s their new housemate. Soon after, inside, Justin is exasperated as Tori explains the prosecution painted Robbo as a threat to society so she volunteered as a character witness and agreed to supervise him. Justin isn’t keen on the idea with his hearing for Ava coming up, especially when Tori admits she also gave surety, but when Robbo appears, he welcomes him to the family, somewhat through gritted teeth.

At the hospital, with Ben and Coco listening in, Diana tells Maggie that she’s hoping to book her on a flight tonight and the trial will have her as soon as she gets there. Ben asks to speak to Maggie alone and, once the others have gone, asks her if she’s really going to do this without any discussion. Maggie says if it can save her there’s nothing to discuss. Ben accepts that but thinks they don’t know enough. Maggie says she wants to live. At the Morgan house, Tori and Robbo fill Justin in on the rest of the bail conditions: Robbo can’t leave the house, the police can come round at any time to check he’s there and he can’t contact any witnesses. Robbo is frustrated that he can’t do much to investigate. Brody appears and says the room is Robbo’s; Robbo goes to have a shower. Brody notes someone will need to learn to cook now; Justin and Tori, in unison, decide it’ll be Mason. Brody leaves his key behind despite Tori’s protests. Justin says there’s always a place for him when Ziggy kicks him out and they share a group hug.

Brody arrives at the farm house, cheerily calling out that he’s home. He tells Ziggy about leaving the key behind and she says she’ll have to get him one cut (despite him observing that they never lock the doors) and will do it while she’s at the hospital. Brody suggests she go now but Ziggy says they need to celebrate him moving in first. At the hospital, Diana talks to Coco, who is a bit concerned that Ben isn’t on board with the plan. Diana says it’s not up to him. Ben joins them, saying Maggie’s sleeping. He tells Diana he knows she means well but wonders if she’s spoken to Maggie’s medical team. Diana dismisses Dr Callan as a small town doctor who’s failing. Ben objects but Diana overrides him and tells Coco to go and get Maggie’s things.

Justin, Tori and Robbo discuss Colby; Tori says they don’t know when they’ll be able to bring him round, but failing once doesn’t mean it won’t happen. Ben arrives, saying he’s been trying to phone Tori, and asks for her help. They go outside, with Ben explaining the situation: He suspects that Callan and the others don’t even know what Diana is planning. He understands where Diana is coming from, but she hasn’t been there through the treatment, and he’s worried changing things could do more harm than good. Tori says progress is made because of medical trials but she doesn’t have enough information, so offers to research it and get back to him.

Robbo insists to Justin that he needs to see Colby. Justin points out that Colby’s unconscious and Robbo isn’t allowed to see him or leave the house. Robbo wants to know what Ebony said but Justin reminds him that Tori went to a lot of trouble to keep him out of jail and he should toe the line. Back at the farm. Brody and Ziggy are getting dressed after their “celebrating”. Brody asks where he can put his things and Ziggy says everywhere’s full. Brody notes a junior pro surfer trophy which she’s had since she was fourteen. Ziggy suggests he puts his things in the shed but Brody insists on half the drawers and half the clothes rack. Coco arrives and gives Ziggy a rundown on Diana being there and wanting to take Maggie overseas for treatment. Ziggy agrees with Ben. Coco leaves upset.

Maggie apologises to Diana for not telling her sooner and Diana asks her not to shut her out again. She gets a text from the travel agent and goes out into the corridor. Ziggy arrives and makes it clear she’s not on board with Diana’s plan, accusing her of trying to make it about herself. Diana retorts that Ziggy has made Maggie’s life hell for years. Maggie comes out and yells at them to stop but almost collapses. Ben arrives in time to catch her and tells the others to get a doctor. Near the bait shop, Alf hears crying and finds Coco sitting among the boats. She says that everyone’s arguing even though they know it makes things worse for Maggie. Alf admits that older people don’t really know what they’re doing any more than the youngsters but thinks it will work out in the end.

Robbo apologises to Justin but admits it’s hard just sitting around waiting. Justin understands, saying he was the same when Ava was missing. Robbo suggests there’s something Justin could do for him. Back at the hospital, Maggie has been settled back in her room by a nurse. Coco joins Ben, Ziggy and Diana with her, and Maggie dismisses it as a dizzy spell. Tori comes in and says she and Callan have looked at the trial. There are promising results and there’s potential, but no guarantees, and travelling may have an impact on Maggie. When pushed, she says if it were her she’d stay and continue treatment. She leaves them to think.

Brody is trying to find room for his things in Ziggy’s bedroom and ends up replacing her surfing trophy with a framed review of Salt. Back at the Morgan house, Justin and Robbo do an online search for Hazel but find nothing. Justin says he had this problem before. Robbo recalls Colby taking Justin to the pub where Boyd’s crew hang out but Justin doesn’t think they’d talk to him. Robbo gets more and more frustrated and Justin loses sympathy, saying Colby’s not in a coma to inconvenience him.

Diana dismisses Tori’s opinion, thinking that to say otherwise would mean admitting failure, but Ben doesn’t agree. Ziggy argues that moving Maggie could make her worse, which gives Coco pause, but Diana again dismisses it. Maggie says she’s not going to go without a guarantee: She’ll hope that either the chemo or a stem cell donor works. Diana tries to persuade her otherwise but Maggie says if it’s the end then she wants to die in Summer Bay with her family, not overseas. Diana decides to go if they don’t want her help, walking out. Ben follows her, but Diana simply says that if Maggie dies she won’t forgive him. Nearby, a baseball hat-clad Robbo sneaks through the corridors. He sees Tori talking to a police guard and shrinks back.
