Extended Summary

Tori is unable to get the tube into Colby. She tells the staff to be prepared for a tracheotomy and tells Jasmine to start bagging. Down on the beach, Ben and Coco discuss how ill Maggie is. Coco thinks she’ll get better now she’s having chemo again and they might find a donor. Ben reflects that the chemo is making her sicker than the cancer but they all have to do things they don’t want to.

Jasmine is sitting by Colby, who is back on life support. Tori comes in and they discuss how uncommon his reaction is. Tori goes to the police station where McCarthy allows her through to see Robbo. Tori tells him about the unsuccessful attempt to take Colby off the ventilator. She wonders why Ebony would want payback on Hazel as well as Colby. Robbo says he can’t prove she did anything to either of them.

On the balcony at Salt, Justin and Tori discuss Robbo’s situation and what Ebony has done. At the hospital, Ben and Coco turn up to see Maggie, who says she sent Ziggy to work. All of them are shocked when Diana then turns up. Back at Salt, Tori meets with Jasmine and they begin brainstorming how to prove it was Ebony that hurt Colby. Mason turns up and they rope him into the conversation. They deduce that, since the drug isn’t available over the counter or on the street, she must have got it from a hospital pharmacy or drugs trolley. They also suspect the allergic reaction was unplanned and Colby may not have known about the allergy himself. Mason is shocked to hear it was Ebony. Tori goes to hospital and makes a call about mental health appointments for Ebony Harding or Lisa Easton but there’s nothing. She checks the hospital computer.

Maggie is somewhat thrown to find Diana there and says she didn’t want to worry her, while Diana fusses over her and complains about the hard pillows. Maggie and Ben say that the doctors have been optimistic but Coco feels the need to add until recently. Diana asks to speak to Ben in the corridor. Ben thanks her for getting there quickly but Diana is furious with him for waiting months before telling her. Ben says he was respecting Maggie’s wishes and Diana says she’ll never forgive him for keeping her away from Maggie in what could be her last weeks. Ben goes back into the room; things are slightly tense between him and Maggie, to the point that they send Coco out. Maggie thinks Coco will end up looking after Diana but Ben thinks she might help her. Coco approaches Diana, who assures her she’s not angry with her but looks deflated when Coco confirms Maggie didn’t want to worry her. She is also thrown when Coco mentions Maggie collapsing at Ziggy’s wedding. Diana answers an international call (giving her name as Diana Carrington).

Robbo makes a phone call to Kurt, telling him to do his best at the bail hearing. He goes to make another call but McCarthy stops him, saying it was only meant to be one phone call and he’s a suspect not an investigator. Robbo tries to get him to check on Ebony’s aliases but McCarthy tells him to focus on his own case. At Salt, Tori shows Justin Ebony’s medical file. There’s no history of mental health problems, but she was in hospital a number of times as a child and it was suspected she was being abused by her mother: This gives her a motive. Jasmine rings to says she’s found ampoules of the drug missing from the resus trolley, which was last checked 48 hours before Colby was brought in. Tori tells her to check CCTV.

Jasmine heads to the security office with Mason in tow. He doubts security will hand the footage over to them and isn’t exactly reassured when he realises that’s not what Jasmine’s planning. While he hangs back, Jasmine tells the guard in the office there’s a dodgy-looking character by the lift on Level 2 and some drugs have gone missing. After the guard has gone, Jasmine and Mason enter the office, where Jasmine says she knows roughly when the drugs went missing. Mason has rounds in ten minutes so she has to go. Later, Jasmine meets Tori and Justin at Salt with a USB of the footage. They view it and see Ebony stealing the drugs, with the camera getting a good look at her.

Ben and Maggie make their peace over Diana being there, shortly before Diana arrives with Coco. Diana announces that she’s taking over and sorting out her treatment plan. Maggie is sceptical that Diana could find something new in a day but Diana says she called a friend and found out about a clinical trial in Europe run by the best people in the world and who are willing to take Maggie if she meets the requirements. Ben is astonished but Diana insists she’ll pay for everything and it is happening. Meanwhile, Mason and Jasmine check on Colby. Mason is still bewildered about Ebony but Jasmine says she was always suspicious about her, since she was trying to drive a wedge between her and Colby, and frustrated she left him open to her.

Robbo is being brought through police station reception as Justin and Tori arrive and tell him and McCarthy about the CCTV footage showing Ebony stealing the drugs. McCarthy says tests have shown Hazel was killed by a different substance from the one Colby was injected with. They give him the medical records showing Ebony was abused and he agrees to pass the information on before the hearing. Robbo thanks them and Justin gives him a suit. Later, on the wharf, Justin and Tori recap what Ebony has done. Justin is worried the case against Robbo is still strong. He is frustrated when Tori decides to go to the hearing, saying Robbo has no-one else.

Ben is angry about Diana, while Coco thinks they should listen to her. Diana comes back in from making calls but Ben insists Maggie is too ill to be taken away. Maggie tells them to stop, saying it might be worth a try and she wants to go with Diana.
