Andy blows up at Nate when he learns that Sophie caused the accident. Oscar heads to the city to search for Maddy.
Extended Summary
Time is running out for Maddy, who still hasn’t made contact since running away from hospital before her chemotherapy treatment. When Spencer learns the news, he gets angry at Oscar for letting Maddy get away. Roo feels completely helpless. Maddy finally answers one of Spencer’s calls – on a busy city street. He tries to convince her to come home, but she won’t tell him where she is and she won’t come home, telling him she’s “where she needs to be”. John suggests to Spencer that this might mean that Maddy is doing something she’d meant to do. He tells Roo and they both try to work out what Maddy means. Spencer finally pushes aside his anger and apologises to Oscar. He admits that he doesn’t know Maddy that well anymore and asks Oscar to help him work out where Maddy is. Oscar mentions that Maddy had been making a scrapbook recently. Spencer sends Oscar to the city to look for Maddy, armed with the scrapbook to help him. Roo sees Oscar board the bus, wondering what he and Spencer are up to.
Before he leaves to search for Maddy in the city, Oscar goes to see Hannah in hospital. Hannah tells Andy and Nate that wants to keep the fact that she may not be able to walk a secret for now. When Oscar comes into the room, Hannah puts on a brave face, neglecting to mention the extent of her injuries. Andy tells Oscar that Hannah needs a bit of time to herself, and to pass the message on to Denny and Evelyn. A guilt-stricken Nate sits down beside Hannah and tells her that the accident was his fault, filling them in on what happened with Sophie. Andy shouts at him to get out of Hannah’s room. Hannah is more understanding, and asks Andy to be kinder to Nate. Andy apologies to Nate and tells Andy that Sophie handed herself in to the police.
