Extended Summary

Brendan continues to be hard work for both Xavier and Hugo as they try to adjust to Brendan being in the Bay. The boys continue to disagree about the way Brendan should be handled, with Hugo’s number one concern being to not get in Martha’s way – this is after all her house. Hugo fears are realised when Brendan flashes Martha – even though it’s a funny moment Hugo can’t help but think that this is the beginning of their troubles.

When Xavier is asked out to a party with Jai and Ruby, Hugo instead wants Xavier home to look after Brendan – Hugo can’t look after him because he is driving up to see their mum. Xavier wonders why he can’t take Brendan with him. Hugo agrees to this but when Brendan refuses to go, Hugo hesitantly leaves Brendan with Martha after she insists he will be fine with her. Hugo agrees but only because Xavier will be home soon. But instead Martha insists that Xavier go the party as he deserves a night off. Xavier’s fun night doesn’t last long as he soon gets a call from Martha who is in a panic – Brendan has run off and is nowhere to be seen. Xavier rushes out to look for him.

Ruby has arrived back from visiting Ross in the city, but Joey is disappointed to discover that Charlie is staying an extra day. Late in the Diner, she tells Aden that Robbo hasn’t gone to court yet, but he’s been refused bail. He comments that Charlie has been good to her, letting her stay, but Joey muses that it’s probably time she moved on.

Belle is withdrawing from the drugs she’s been taking and as she takes a turn for the worse; Annie walks in to finds her in serious pain and, unaware of her drug habit, calls the first person she thinks of that can help Belle – Aden. But he refuses to come over and help. Seeing Belle like this reminds of him of his own father’s addiction. It’s a bit of tough love from Aden who thinks she needs to sort this out on her own and go to rehab. Nicole is quick to talk him around and Aden decides to call Belle but when she doesn’t answer he goes over there. Seeing her much sicker than he thought, he wraps her in his arms and decides then and there that he won’t leave her until she’s well again.

Leah is apologising to her dinner guests for VJ’s outburst earlier. Nicole accidentally spilled the beans about Leah and Roman being in a relationship. When confronting VJ about it, he simply says that he doesn’t like Roman anymore. VJ is proving to be very difficult and upset over the news of Roman which makes Leah wonder whether VJ is ready for Leah to have someone in her life just yet. While driving to dinner that night, Leah explains her concerns to Roman – she wonders if it’s too soon to start something with Roman. Just as Roman is digesting this information a stone smashes through the windscreen and hit’s Roman on the temple. Leah controls the car and brings it to a stop. In the distance we see Brendan with a slingshot in his hand. Xavier finds Brendan, who is laughing at what he’s done, not realising the magnitude of the situation.
