Extended Summary

Dan is furious as he confronts Amanda about her affair with Drew – he admonishes her for seducing a teenage boy! Her daughter’s boyfriend! She tries to defend and explain, but Dan is unforgiving as he continues abusing her. Drew steps in to protect Amanda, insisting that he loves her! Dan is left gob smacked, realizing this is a lot more serious than he initially thought. Drew explains that he went after Amanda, not the other way around as she tries to quieten Drew, insisting she doesn’t feel the same way. He continues to plead as Dan cuts in and tells him to wait in the car. Dan turns on Amanda and let’s her have it – as usual she’s made a royal mess of things and never stops to think. She’s a disgrace. He exits, leaving a devastated Amanda, who’s soon interrupted by a phone call. She’s shocked at what she’s told… Still fuming, Dan drops Drew off at the Diner where Leah is working as he continues on to pick up Ryan and VJ. Drew honestly talks about his feelings for Amanda – it’s real – he never wanted to hurt Belle or to lie and Dan and Leah – his feelings just took over. Leah is left really feeling for him. She later tells Dan that Amanda is the one to be angry at, if anyone. She should know better. Dan makes it clear to Drew that he is spending the day with him and the boys – these thugs are still lurking around and he doesn’t want him going near Amanda… Frustrated, Drew has no choice but to hang out with them. The tension is clear between Drew and Dan as Amanda approaches them at the beach – Dan won’t let Drew near her, but Amanda insists she’s just coming to check that Dan won’t say anything to Belle. Dan says he won’t, he still can’t’ believe what she did. Amanda moves off as we see in the distance, Frank taking photos of Drew again… What the?!

Hung over, Belle lies on the couch moaning as Lucas tries to do all he can to help; Matilda turns up just before Irene enters with Robbie, Tasha, Ella, Tony and Beth. They pretend Belle is ‘asleep’, but Irene knows something is up. Lucas is explaining what happened last night. Irene call Amanda who rushes over and holds Belle as she sobs about how much she loved Drew. The guilt is piercing… Meanwhile, Alf reminds Ric to replace all the booze he and Belle drank last night – Ric will – and apologises again for things getting out of hand. Alf asks if he’s still going to Terry’s engagement party, one of Ric’s workmates. He was planning on taking Cassie, doesn’t think he’ll go at all now. Alf convinces him to get on with his life, but avoid the booze – it’s not the way to deal with anything.

Matilda and Kim join the others as they discuss the latest on Robbie’s trial. Matilda asks what the maximum sentence could be – Robbie is hesitant – it could be up to 15 years in goal. Stunned looks all around. Matilda tries to hold back the tears when she sees Ric – he holds her in support as she breaks down. Robbie confides to Beth that he can’t talk about it or they’ll both cry – as Irene comes in with the mail, including an interesting letter for Tasha, who doesn’t let on who it’s from or what it contains… Trying to cheer Matilda, Ric mentions the engagement party tonight. Matilda offers to be his handbag, it would be a good way to take her mind of everything. Tasha gives Robbie the letter to read – it’s from Josie. She has a job offer for them in the U.S. The couple discuss the pros and cons of it – but this is the adventure they might really need, yet no decision can be made until after the trial… Ric and Matilda are looking great as they arrive at the engagement do. Alf’s behind the bar watching them have a great time. At one point Ric has to save Matilda from being chatted up by a rev head mate, it’s all a bit of a laugh. Ric’s pleased Mattie came tonight – they both smile to themselves – how long until they realize they belong together?

Lucas checks on Belle and her hang over – she’s vowing to never drink again and thanks him for his help last night. She may have lost Drew, but has realized how cool her Mum is – she wasn’t even angry about Belle being drunk! She gives her Mum a hug, before heading out with Lucas. Amanda is feeling sick to her stomach with guilt and sinks to the lounge in sobs. Meanwhile, Drew is sullen as he sits at the table with the family. Dan urges him to put Amanda out of his mind – his infatuation can’t go anywhere. Rather than fight back, Drew opens up about the heartbreak he’s feeling over his encounter with her earlier – she didn’t even look his way – obviously she’s used him. Dan assures him her actions probably weren’t malicious, but advises that he’s best to move on with his life – it’s time for a fresh start.

We then cut to the photos that were taken of Drew on the beach that day on a computer screen. Whoever is looking at them, scrolls down showing shots of Belle and Drew on the road and photos of Drew during his abduction. What the hell is going on here?!
