Extended Summary

Flynn confronts Josie about his suspicions that she is behind Pervan’s involvement in Kane’s treatment. Josie hasn’t got a clue what he’s talking about, but she manages to cover like a true pro. She skilfully milks Flynn for just enough information to weave a cover story that placates Flynn and leaves Osborne’s involvement unmentioned. Josie takes responsibility for calling Pervan and sending the flowers to Kirsty. She lies and tells Flynn that Colleen let Kane’s illness slip. Of course, Josie asks Flynn not to mention this to Colleen or Pervan. Flynn agrees, it’s the least he can do after all she’s done.

Sally is not so easily convinced. When Flynn tells her what’s happened she is suspicious of Josie’s involvement in Kane and Kirsty’s lives. After all, she barely knows them. Flynn tries to talk Sally around. Josie is the heroine in Flynn’s eyes.

At the beach house, Kane is feeling like death after his treatment. He makes excuses by saying that his painkillers are making him ill. Tasha says she knows a great bush remedy that could help the pain from his groin injury. She returns later with the secret ingredient for her remedy. Robbie suddenly realises what it is – marijuana! She says that her mother used to give it to her when she was little. Robbie thinks that explains a lot! He quickly disposes of the evidence and asks Tasha to show him where the crop is. To be safe, Robbie passes on the location to the police. The police now plan to stake out the area in the hope of surprising the owner.

Josie is in damage-control mode and meets urgently with Stafford. She is worried that his boss is losing his mind. Stafford admits that Osborne has been glued to the video link from the beach house. He seems to have bonded with the lives he has been watching – especially Kane and Kirsty. The problem is that now he seems to be interfering with the lives that he is watching. Josie makes it clear that if he tries any more audience participation, then she’ll pull the plug herself. Stafford reassures her he’ll do what he can. Before he leaves he hands her the video recording of her meeting with Morag. If Osborne had seen it, there could have been some major fallout.

Robbie reluctantly admits to Tasha that he’s been researching her dad. From what he’s found out, he’s a bit of a mongrel. She’s probably better off without him. But Robbie doesn’t realise that her father has been listening!

A frantic Josie arrives at Morag’s apartment. She explains to Morag that Osborne has just called and demanded that she end Robbie and Tasha’s relationship. Josie says that it’s time to pull the plug on the whole charade. The game’s over!
