Scott and Kane front up to Felix, warning him to stay away from Dani
The cops rock up to the Blaxland to take Kane and Scott away for questioning an assault on Felix. They claim not have touched him, but Felix says different – and he has the bruises to prove it.
Dani is walking, alone, through the university grounds at night. She glances around her, convinced that she is being watched. Her distraction makes her drop her books and as she bends to pick them up someone comes up behind her to give her a hand. Instinctively, Dani punches the figure and shoves him onto the floor… before realising that it is the university Dean. Uh-oh.

***

UNIVERSITY
Dani explains what happened to the police – and tells them that someone had been following her. The dean, however, saw no one until he stopped to help Dani. The police, bright as ever, reckon it was all in Dani’s imagination, and wonder whether the dean would like to press charges – he declines, as there was no criminal intent, and insists that it be dealt with by the uni. The police leave, telling the pair of them to get in touch if there’s anything else. Scott rushes up to Dani, wanting to know if she is ok, and what happened, but Dani brushes past him to apologise to the dean, who is understandably cold – she shouldn’t be attacking ANYONE. She tries to explain that she has been getting harrassed, but the dean can only point out that they have official channels to deal with these thing – he suggests that she uses them. Dani is exasperated as she turns back to Scott – she is convinced that Felix was following her, and even Scott seems to be doubting her sanity – when she wonders how the police turns up, he suggests that she called them. Er, yeah. The dean didn’t call them either

THE PALACE
Scott and Dani are still tense as they return home, with Dani struggling to convince Scott that Felix was following her, and that it wasn’t all in her head. After all, Felix couldn’t possibly have forseen the incident with the dean, but Scott agrees that it’s a remote possibility that Felix simply took advantage of the situation. Even Hayley wonders whether Dani is alright, and Noah can’t work out how Dani managed to mistake the dean for Felix, and Scott just blames it on Dani’s state of mind. Dani’s voice floats down from above, wondering whether Scott has been in bed – the duvet’s on the floor and the sheets are creased, so SOMEONE must have been in their bed. She is quick to rubbish the idea of her leaving it in such a state, and isn’t impressed that Hayley left the house unlocked when she went to do some painting down on the beach. Dani is obsessive about them keeping the house properly locked up – just in case Felix tries something else. Scott silences her – it’ll do no good Dani scaring both herself and Hayley, but Dani reminds them of all the things that Felix has done – he’s watching her, and if they assume it’s in her head, then Felix has won.

BEACH HOUSE
Kirsty walks out of the bathroom and into the kitchen in the dark, where she sits alone until Kane comes out of their bedroom to fdind her. She is unable to sleep, and as he gently jokes that it ‘makes a change’ she snaps at him about his “snoring the house down”. Everytime she gets to sleep she needs the toilet, and when she goes back to bed she can’t sleep for worrying about Dani – if she ever sees the guy that has been hassling her… Kane jokingly remarks that she has become more fiesty now that she is pregnant, but she can’t even raise a smile – she’s already lost Jade, and she can’t handle the thought of something happening to Dani. Kane insists that that won’t happen – Dani has a huge network of people to support her, and Felix WILL get what’s coming to him. He doesn’t want her to stress.

BLAXLAND
It’s morning, and as the rain pours down Kane climbs onto the boat, where Rhys and Scott are busy stressing about Felix, and what they can possibly do about him. They’ve tried warning him off, and it has done no good. Rhys suggests that they monitor Dani 24/7 – he can drive her to and from uni and Noah/Irene/Hayley will be able to keep an eye out for her to. Kane scoffs at the idea – Dani would never agree to that, and they’re wasting their time. The guy’s a psycho – and they have to tackle him head on, and let him know that by messing with Dani, he’s messing with ‘them’. They may have tried it before – but this time they’ll “do it right”. Scott and Rhys exchange a wary glance.

PATTERSON HOUSE
Jesse casually mentions that he has another job in the supermarket at night, and reckons although they’re financially ok, they could always do with some extra cash.Leah is taken aback, and wonders how they’re ever going to get time for one another – they are both working, and he also has the business course to manage. Jesse wonders why she’s so concerned – she doesn’t usually want to find time for them, so she should be able to find something else to occupy her time.

RANDOM PLACE
The rain is still bucketting down, and Flynn and Leah sit in her car. She is stressing out about what Jesse has worked out, and Flynn mentions Jesse’s earlier visit to the surgery, and how he didn’t even dignify Jesse with a response to the affair-question. Leah reckons that he should just have got it all out into the open, but Flynn reminds her that it ISN’T an affair – it was a kiss, and it’s over. He gets out of the car and runs off into the rain (in his shirt and shorts) as Leah watches, depressed, after him.

UNIVERSITY
Dani walks around aimlessly as Noah approaches her. She is getting paranoid about people talking about her behind her back, and Noah reckons they’d all be supporting her anyway – they all thing she’s ‘great’. The dean puts on an appearance – complete with red eye – and is still feeling battered and bruised. He brushes of Dani’s repeated attempts at apologising, and mentions that he has set up a meeting with some more of the uni bigwigs to discuss what action will be taken. Dani is horrified – she got the impression that they were going to sort things between themselves. He advises her not to argue – after all, their opinion is likely to be much less biased than his own. She agree to attend the meeting in half an hour

BLAXLAND
Alf arrives to collect some charts from Scott – but he hasn’t done them, so Alf will have to wait until later. Scott mentions that he has had a lot on his mind – he has seen someone who he hasn’t seen since his Dad died, and it has brought back bad memories. Alf remembers Val Squires – she was good on the dance floor, and Alf appears to admire her somewhat. Scott realises that Val must have “got around a bit”, and they dicuss the death of Val’s own husband in a tractor accident – he was crushed whilst out working alone, and not much was heard of Val after that. Alf assumes that Jack will have ‘kept tabs on her’, and his eyes widen as Scott comments he did more than that. Alf wonders what on earth Jack would want with Val when he had Beth – she adored him.

BREAK

UNIVERSITY
Dani tells Noah the latest – the uni bigwigs accept that she was frightened and didn’t know who was behind her, and have given her a month off to de-stress. She knows that it may as well be a suspension. A random student approaches her, and tells her that it was an overreaction to the incident. Dani is surprised that the bad news has travelled so quickly, but is bamboozled as the girl asks where she will be going instead of uni… it seems that most of the students are under the impression that Dani was expelled – Dani asks the girl to go and re-inform people that she was given a 4-wk suspension. Dani is convinced that Felix was behind the rumour, and is amazed that people actually believe what he tells them. She refuses to be scared into silence – just because she can’t attend lectures doesn’t mean that she can’t write in the paper.

SURF CLUB
Dani talks to Rhys at the kiosk about how the university bigwigs seem to think that she’s losing it. Rhys wants to have a ‘word’ with Felix, but Dani rejects the offer. Kane appears to inform Rhys that he’s all out of orange juice, and Rhys leaves to fetch some more. In his absence, Kane has a word with Dani about Felix – she can’t see what else he and Scott can do to help, but Kane mentions that all she has to do is say the word and Felix can be “gone for good”. Dani is stunned, but Kane is deadly serious. She decides to forget he said anything, but he cooly tells her that all he is doing is trying to help – talking to Felix isn’t getting them anywhere. He leaves, telling her to get in touch if she changes her mind.

BEACH HOUSE
Kirsty is asleep on the sofa as Dani arrives, and stresses out when she realises that she needs to be back in school. She keeps falling asleep – except when she wants to and is stressed at all the change at school now that Jade and Seb have gone. Dani remarks that having a baby is stressful, but Kirsty insists that Kane has been “wonderful” – he’s not letting her do anything. Dani comments that he mustn’t have time for his anger management classes, and Kirsty eventually clocks that something is up. Dani mentions that she spoke to kane, and he seemed tense, and although initially Kirsty assumes it’s just Dani not giving him a go, Dani informs her that Kane offered to sort Felix out for her… permanently.

BLAXLAND
Kane is doing some work on the engine as Scott arrives, and he wonders how Dani is doing – she shouldn’t have to deal with “that loser”. Scott has heard all about Kane’s offer, and isn’t exactly for the idea. Kane doesn’t even try to deny that he made the offer – if anyone was to lay into Felix, he’d earn himself a pat on the back. Dani doesn’t deserve it, and guys like Felix need to be taught a leson. Scott doesn’t see it as being Scott’s problem, but Kane insists that as his wife is up all hours worrying about her sister, it makes it his problem.

BEACH HOUSE
Kane arrives back to a fristy reception – Kirsty makes it clear she knows about the offer, and wonders what Kane would have done had Dani been stupid enough to agree. Kane can’t even look her in the eye and she is incensed that he would even think about it – he told her that he had changed. He insists that he just doesn’t want her worrying about it – it’ll damage the baby. She lays into him – it’s going to hurt the baby more if he winds up in prison. He scoffs at the idea – nothing will come between them and the baby – all he wants is to teach Felix a lesson, and sometimes “the only way to fight fire is with fire”. Kirsty wonders if he’d apply the same theory if their kids if they play up, or don’t stop crying, or upset him. He is quick to say no, looking stunned that she would even suggest it. She knows he means it… but she’s still scared that he would lose it if the baby upset him and he wouldn’t be able to control himself. He just stares at her, numbed, hesistating before swearing that he’ll be NOTHING like his father or his brother. He’s learning, and sometimes he just takes a while to get his head around things. She tells him, a bit too coldly, that she won’t let him hurt she or their baby. He is determined to go back to the classes and do anthing it takes. For now, he needs her to know that he would NEVER hurt her.

THE PALACE
Scott discusses his earlier conversation with Dani, and she wonders why Kane always has to take things a step too far. Noah arrives home, mentioning to Scott that he saw Val at the Surf Club – she seemed to be checking out the accomodation board, and she looks to be sticking around. Both Dani and Noah encourage Scott to tell Beth everything – it’ll be much better coming from him than it will if Val spills the beans, and it’ll hurt Beth a helluva lot more if she finds out that Scott knew all along and never told her.

GYM
Leah brings Jesse some food, as he never turned up at the diner for lunch. He is cold, and she brings up his visit to Flynn. She struggles to explain things, and they wonder how things have come to this – they used to be so strong. She doesn’t know how things happened with Flynn… at first she didn;t want them to happen, and then she did… Jesse is unable to listen to any more and walks away, proceeding to punch the wall as Leah winces.

Leah storms outside, paying no attention to Kane’s apology as they collide. Rhys pulls Kane aside for a ‘chat’ about Felix – Rhys doesn’t want him getting involved. Kane doesn’t see the problem with his offer, but Rhys points out that he would like to have a ‘quiet word’ with the guy himself. Kane doesn’t get why he doesn’t, and Rhys speaks from experience – he used to go in fists first himself, but now he seems to think that there are better ways of dealing with things.”Like what?” – Kane is intruiged, and Rhys is unable to give an answer. Kane presses him – what would he do? Rhys wonders what the reason is behind Kane’s questions, and Kane explains that he doesn’t want to be like his father – he wants to be a good Dad… like Rhys. Rhys doesn’t reckon there’s much to teach, but Kane wants him to try.

Back inside, Hayley arrives bearing baseball caps for the gym – in pink and purple. Jesse is still subdued, and when quizzed by Hayley he asks whether there’s still a spare room at the Palace. He’s looking to move out of Leah’s, and Hayley is shocked, pressing him for info. He tells her that Leah has feelings for Flynn, and he doesn’t reckon they can work things out.
