Tasha taps a pen whilst trying to work, and Irene is on the phone, struggling to get back on air at uni. Kit is frustrated with her work, convinced she will fail. She gets irritated when Irene reassures her when she says she needs a drink
DROP IN CENTRE
Josh arrives to find Noah in a quiet centre – Noah tells him no one wants to be on the cameras. Josh shows him stills of Noah and Kit hugging. Noah tells Josh it was innocent – but Josh reminds him how things can look different to other people. Josh warns Noah to stay out of his way.
Kit arrives, and Noah brushes her off
FLYNN’S PLACE
Jesse, Leah, Flynn and Sally joke about Irene;s radio mistake. They talk about having kids – morning sickness, hormones, cravings. Leah says she can;’t wait
Later, Sally tells Flynn she feels overwhelmed – she wants the baby so much, and she can feel that it will happen. Otherwise, they can always try adoption.
BEACH HOUSE
Irene and Kit are still awake – Irene is working, and Kit tells her that she needs a drink. Irene produces a bottle from the cupboard – she hasn’t opened it in eight years, as it has been a test for her. She offeres it to Kit.
Later that night, Kit sneaks out of her room and opens the bottle, pouring herself a glass. She raises it to her lips, before throwing it into the sink, the smashed glass cutting her hand. Jesse and Irene wake up. Kit frantically apologises, before running out, despite Irene’s insistence that it doesn’t matter.
FLYNN’S PLACE
Sally and Flynn offer Kit a bed for the night. Kit thinks that Irene is angry at her, and she is angry at herself – Irene managed eight years without drinking it, and she couldn’t last eight hours.
BEACH PATH
Toby and Jade walk up towards the surf club, and Jade talks about her guilt over Seb. Toby tells her that she can’t blame herself, and Jade tells him there’s always someone else to blame – Seb blames her, Kirsty blames Rhys and Rhys blames Kane. Toby tells her she’s lucky to have a family – because he doesn’t anymore. She tells him she’s sorry, and he is evasive as she questions him about it.
BEACH HOUSE
Irene and Tasha prepare to leave for school without Kit and Jesse assures Irene that Kit will be fine – she never drank anything. Jesse knows that Kit feels that she has let Irene down – Jesse accuses Irene of being too judgemental, as she put Kit to a test that she herself managed to pass. Irene is worried about how Kit feels
BREAK
FLYNN’S PLACE
Flynn compliments Sallys hair… and her face… and her mouth. Colleen interrupts them, wanting to open up the surgery early. Sally doesn’t explain why Kit is staying with them . Colleen lets them know that she is no longer wearing a wig and says that Norman has never seen her real hair, but states that it doesn’t matter to Norman – he would like her anyway. Flynn asks if she has shown the Sutherland’s her hair, but Colleen says things have been too busy for them.
GYM
Irene arrives to see Jesse, having been to Uni and failed in getting back on air. She worries about being charged with contempt of court, as she recognises how judgemental she can be. Jesse reassures her, and Irene decides that she must go and sort things out with Kit.
SURGERY
Noah explains the situation with Josh to Flynn, worried about how the pictures could look – especially to someone who doesn;t know them. They know that Josh wants to ‘liquidate his assets’, and the centre is one of them. They could be relocated. Noah knows that Josh will be underhand if he has to
DINER
Leah tells Noah how good Jesse has been with VJ – unlike Alex, who is preoccupied with his knee. Alf interrupts, sening that Noah is about to tell Leah about the steroids. Noah tells Alf that he;s going to get his bike back – Alf is mortified that it could be fixed, but Noah tells him it’s nothing to worry about – Seb got on the bike, and nothing happened.
SURF CLUB
Josh presents Tasha with some dresses and shoes as a gift, and she is suss as to his intentions. He praises her, and drops more hints about the modelling.
Josh then goes to the gym, asking Jesse where Noah is – Jesse tells him to get off Noah’s back. Josh asks if Jesse has seen Baz, dropping hints that he has guessed something is up.
DINER
Irene asks Sally how Kit is, and they and Alf joke about how hard bringing up kids can be. Irene then apologises to Sally, but she and Leah decide to announce their surrogacy plans “Leah and I are going to have a baby!”
DROP IN CENTRE
Jade and Toby play table soccer. Hegoes to make coffee, and Noah asks Jade how things are going – in particular with her family, but Toby has not yet met them. He then asks if she has met his family, and she is confused – as something supposedly ‘happened’ when Toby was only young. He is certain that his family were living in Yabbie Creek a year ago… when Toby arrives back, Jade doesn’t mention it
BEACH HOUSE
Irene arrives home to find Kit. They each apologise for letting one another down, and Irene assures Kit that she can handle it, despite not having faith in herself. She tells Kit that the bottle was only a symbol to remind Irene that she was an alcoholic. Kit tells Irene that she isn’t her, and she is still trying to work out what to do
Josh arrives, telling Irene that he’s taking Tasha out to a restaurant – Irene is adamant that she’s not going, as Tasha appears in one of Josh’s dresses. Tasha begs Irene to let her go.
GYM
Pia arrives at the gym, telling Jesse that Baz has been arrested. He gave them some names of those he supplied to. Jesse thinks she knows about Alex and tells Pia that it was a one off with “this guy”. Pia tells him that Baz actualluy gave Jesse’s name, and produces a search warrant for the gym. She finds a bag of pills in a drawer, and is confident they aren’t Jesse’s, asking him who the guy was he referred to. When Jesse refuses to say, Pia tells him that she must charge him.
