Extended Summary

It seems Rhys can’t swim, which is why has was not interested in joining the Surf Club. Alf went to apologise to Rhys about bugging him to join, and Rhys told him about his water phobia. Apparently, when he was young his dad tried teaching him to swim, and Rhys almost drowned. His father died soon afterwards and he’s never been in the water since. Alf’s offered to teach him. Maybe Rhys will take up his offer and conquer his fears…

After a rocky start, Brodie and Helen are getting on like a house on fire. Alex told Helen that Brodie’s been the best thing for him. Leah’s admitted she’s tired of her mother interfering. She knows she’s trying to help, but she can’t say much because everyone thinks she’s wonderful.
Brodie’s life couldn’t get any better. She’s been getting great marks at school. This has left Dani with doubts about her own life. Will says she shouldn’t worry; she can become a model. She’s admitted to Rhys she feels like people see her as a shallow, empty-headed girl. She’s feeling lost and has no idea as to what she wants to do.

Irene’s doing everything she can to get over her moodiness. Will’s relieved, but Hayley thinks he hasn’t done enough to help out. She was referring to the portrait sitting. When Will decided to do it, Hayley said she’d used a photo instead. When Will wanted to check it out, Hayley told him she gave it to Gypsy. He’s freaking out because he’s worried Dani will find out about it. While they were arguing, Irene told them off for yelling during her nap. Since when has Irene needed to take naps?
