Extended Summary

Marilyn asks Adam’s advice about what to wear for her first day at school as she wants to make a good impression. Adam suggests an outfit that will make more than an impression. “It’s enough to make a bloke want to go back to school!” Marilyn refuses a lift from Adam on his bike, which is loaded with cleaning supplies. Very wise, as Adam promptly falls off.

At the Diner, Steven tells Paul that if they find out what Emma is planning for revenge on Vicki, they can stop her from doing it so Vicki trusts them enough to tell them how she set up Emma!

By the bay, Blake is annoyed with Karen for not getting on the bus to the city. Karen says it didn’t seem right, and Blake asks what is right. Karen doesn’t know. She doesn’t know why their mum had to die. Meanwhile, Alf and Ailsa are in the city looking for the two of them.

At the school, Vicki tells Steven and Paul she can handle Emma by herself. Steven still believes the plan will have the same result if they tell Vicki what they’ve saved her from. There are wolf whistles as Marilyn arrives in her pink skirt, and Donald asks to see her in his office. He tells Marilyn the reaction was because of what she’s wearing, but Marilyn says it’s only last season’s style! She offers to go home and change, and asks what she should wear, to which Donald responds, “More!”

Alf and Ailsa have failed to find Blake and Karen at another crisis centre. The youth worker tells Alf that if you tell a kid enough times that you don’t want them, they eventually get the picture. This strikes a nerve with Alf. Ailsa goes to phone the Diner and learns that Blake and Karen are there. She tells Carly to tell them to stay there. A homeless girl asks Alf for money and he asks her some questions. Ailsa returns and tells Alf the good news. He says they’d better get a move on and let the kids know they have a home and a family.

Pippa drops some cakes off at the Diner where Carly tells Blake and Karen that Alf and Ailsa have been all over the city looking for them and want to talk to them. Blake says he can’t work them out. Karen wonders if they’ve changed their minds.

Pippa arrives at the school and Donald suggests it might be more private in his office. Vicki says he has got the hots for Mrs. Fletcher. Donald overreacts, putting Vicki on detention. Pippa tells Donald she’s sure it was just a joke. They head to his office and Vicki asks what that was all about.

Alf, Ailsa, Blake and Karen return to the house where Alf tells them they want them to stay. Blake wants to know why they have changed their minds. Alf admits he was being selfish but he has changed his mind.

Adam shows Steven and Paul the 1942 Harley Davidson motorbike and side car he has accepted from a customer in lieu of payment. The boys aren’t convinced it was worth it.

At the Diner, Donald tells Ailsa he made a fool of himself when Pippa came to the school. Emma looks delighted as she overhears Donald talking about Vicki’s smutty comment. Marilyn tells Emma she saw a different side to Mr. Fisher. Emma gets the details about what Vicki said. Emma asks Carly she’s heard that Mr. Fisher and Pippa could be an item. Carly goes mad and tells Emma not to repeat it.

Alf tells Blake and Karen they are part of the family now and suggests they have a Summer Bay “muddy” for dinner. He’ll get them some to try; they’re in for the taste sensation of a lifetime. So amazing that I don’t think anyone has mentioned it before or since. The Summer Bay “muddy” is a big crab, and Blake hates it. Emma tells Ailsa that Alf is going to run off and leave her for a mud crab! Ailsa comments that Emma is in a good mood. Emma says she’s figured out how to get even with Vicki Baxter.
