Sally’s decision to leave prompts Tom to make a suggestion, and Carly has to admit her mistake to Stacey.

Extended Summary

Previous episode: Tom and Pippa don’t know what to do about taking sides with Dodge and Sally. The next morning, Sally tells everyone over breakfast that she wants to find a new home.

Outside, Dodge tells Steven he thinks it’s his fault Sally wants to move out. Steven thinks Sally’s just being a brat. Sally tells Tom and Pippa if they don’t ring Miss Molloy, she will do it herself. Sally locks herself in her room. Carly gets angry because she needs to get in to get changed for her job interview.

Pippa tells Tom they have been taking Dodge’s side too often. She says she won’t let him drive Sally out of the house. Pippa goes up to the room to try and talk Sally out. She tells Sally she couldn’t bare to lose her because they’re like a real family.

Dodge is worried he’s going to get kicked out of the house.

Adam finds out from Bobby that Matt will probably get the beach inspector job because Matt’s uncle is the interviewer.

Pippa tells Tom she has made up her mind. She wants Dodge to leave without even calling a family meeting. Meanwhile, Sally is packing her bags once again.

Adam finds out from Bobby about Carly’s past relationship problems. Carly enters (the diner). She tells Adam about the job interview. It didn’t go well because all the other girls could do shorthand. He mentions her past problems and she gets upset that no one can keep their mouth shut.

Steve and Dodge come home with Viv. They want her to stay for dinner. Sally comes down from her room with her bags all packed, ready to leave. Tom calls a family meeting to get everything sorted out once and for all. Viv has to wait outside. Tom supports Dodge and Pippa is on Sally’s side. When everyone starts arguing, Sally storms off sick of the fighting. Outside the house, Viv and Sally start talking. Viv comforts Sally by telling her about how her father used to think Viv was horrible just like Sally thinks Dodge is horrible.

Back in Sally’s room, Sally tells Pippa she’s changed her mind about leaving, even though she hates Dodge. Tom wants to be a part of the moment too so he asks Sally if she’d like to become their daughter for real. Sally smiles!.
