Extended Summary

Felicity is standing around the shower block looking teary. She steels herself and heads out into public again. Cash turns up, saying he was checking in on her. Felicity accuses him of checking up on her or being sent by Tane to hurry her along, mentioning the text which he knows nothing about. Felicity suggests he’s there to hunt for booze and offers to let him search her caravan. Cash denies all of that but Felicity still doesn’t want to see him. Back at the Parata house, Tane has finished boxing up Felicity’s things and looks at her ring. Nikau comes home and goes to his room without saying anything. Tane follows him in and asks what’s going on. Nikau says Bella’s back.

At the farm house, Dean tells Bella that Ziggy and Izzy are both asleep. He sees one of her photos from a fashion shoot in Soho but she admits her personal life isn’t as good. Dean asks her about seeing Nikau. Bella says she’s angry that he still gets to her and that he broke up with her with no explanation when she’d only loved him. Dean encourages her to ask him about it.

At the Diner, Irene gets off the phone from John and tells Justin that Bella’s back. Justin muses that she went from a rebellious teenager to a successful photographer and maybe he should introduces her to Ava. Cash comes in and runs into Eden, who is writing her song. Cash thought that was Kirby’s thing and Eden says she only does it when she’s inspired. He says he feels bad about the kiss. Eden says it’s okay that it happened but to leave it at that. She gets a text from Felicity and Cash warns that she’s not in a good mood.

Alf and Roo walk by the caravan park. Alf gets an alert on his phone that John has sent a letter of complaint to the committee and called an extraordinary general meeting. Roo says at least he hasn’t phoned a lawyer but Alf isn’t happy having already apologised. Nearby, Eden suggests to Felicity that Tane asking her to pick up her things isn’t unreasonable since she ended things. Felicity says she’ll pick her things up when she’s ready. Eden asks why she’s delaying and Felicity admits she’s not ready for it to be over before saying it would never work out and they need to move on.

Tane reminds Cash that Felicity broke up with him. Cash says he didn’t have to do it by text. Nikau says being dumped doesn’t give you the right to treat the dumper like rubbish. Tane says not to transfer his problems. Bella turns up to see Nikau, so Cash and Tane head out. Bella admits that Nikau dumping her hurt and she thought they’d be together for the rest of their lives. Nikau says he was protecting her. Bella asks from what.

At Salt, Felicity pours shots for herself and a slightly reluctant Eden. Cash and Tane come in for food. Tane tries to say his text was harsh but still asks when she’s getting her stuff. Cash steers Tane onto the balcony. Meanwhile, Nikau has filled Bella in. She asks why he didn’t explain once it was over. Nikau says she had an incredible life in New York by then. Bella says she’d have come back for him. Nikau says he didn’t want to take it away from her but suggests they can try now. Bella says her life’s moved on. Accepting this, Nikau asks her about New York.

Irene serves Alf and Roo at the Diner. Roo tries to get Alf to put his phone down and eat. He reminds her that she wanted him to have e-mails on his phone. John comes in and Irene tries to get him to have takeaway instead of eating in. John and Alf exchange barbs. Roo tells John to sit down and says Alf has accepted some of John’s improvements and apologised for his mistake, so asks John to accept it and call off the meeting.

Bella raves to Nikau about her half studio flat, how she can see the Empire State Building if she stands on tiptoe on the fire escape and how she’s still working with Emmett but doing a few things herself including an underground exhibition in Brooklyn. Nikau says he’s proud of her. Bella says she’d better get back to Dean and Nikau suggests they have breakfast tomorrow.

Cash tries to get Tane to talk to Felicity but Tane says she’s made herself clear. Felicity comes over to their table with a reluctant Eden and tells them to finish their drinks and go. Tane is bewildered but accepts it…but also insists she get her things out of his house first thing tomorrow. Felicity protests that she doesn’t have a car and Eden says she can borrow the van. Tane leaves without saying anything else. Felicity tells Cash to go too.

Next morning, Justin and Dean run into each other on the beach. Justin asks about Bella and if she has an American accent. Dean indicates she’ll always be a Mangrove River girl. Justin gets a phone call from Ava asking to go to Yabbie Creek with Theo and tells her she’ll have to do her assignment first. He notes Dean has all this to look forward to.

Cash is heading off to work and notices the photo album among Felicity’s things. He asks Tane to go easy on her and Tane says he’s not planning on being there. Nikau comes through, saying he’s meeting Bella for breakfast. Tane wonders if they’re getting back together. Nikau says they’ll probably be friends, and he couldn’t stand her not being in his life. He suggests thing will work out with Tane and Felicity. While Tane looks at the ring again, Felicity fills a hip flask with vodka and takes several slugs from the bottle.

At the Diner, Irene wonders who to serve first out of Alf and John. Alf and John make a show of telling the other to go first and Irene says she knows their orders anyway. John has called off the meeting. Alf says he’s going to send another e-mail to everyone apologising and John tells him to hit Reply All again. Alf, who is going to see Martha, tells Roo he’ll be back in two weeks. After they’ve gone, John tries to use his free coffee card but is interrupted by the arrival of Bella and Nikau, with Irene giving Bella a warm greeting.

Felicity turns up at Lyrik’s house and asks Eden if she’s up for a road trip to across the road. Eden is somewhat puzzled by her attitude and disagrees that Tane wants her out of his life. While Eden is getting her bag, Felicity has another drink, then insists on driving. Later, Felicity and Eden are driving, with Eden suggesting they didn’t actually need the van for two boxes and a suitcase and Felicity complaining about Tane not being there, calling him gutless. They see Cash checking on cars ahead. Eden asks if that’s a problem. Felicity turns and heads off in the opposite direction.
