6 Emmerdale Spoilers for Next Week – 22nd to 25th June

Posted on Categories Emmerdale

Next week on Emmerdale, Kev returns as Lewis is held captive, Charity’s family fear for her safety, and Serena Sugden arrives in the village.

Note: Due to FIFA World Cup coverage, Emmerdale will air a double episode on Monday, a single episode on Tuesday, and a double episode on Thursday. There’ll be no episodes on Wednesday or Friday.

1) Ross receives a terrifying demand

Ross (Michael Parr) is drawn into a frantic search for Lewis (Bradley Riches) next week, after receiving confirmation that his brother has been abducted.

ITV

Boyfriend Vinny (Bradley Johnson) had surprised Lewis with a spontaneous trip to Madeira, but the lack of planning quickly set Lewis’s anxiety off.

Vinny had only booked the holiday the day before, leaving Lewis worried about everything from sunscreen to whether the water would be safe to drink.

ITV

When it all became too much, Lewis pulled out and persuaded Vinny to go without him, not wanting him to lose the money. After Ross later offered him some encouragement, Lewis changed his mind and rushed off with his suitcase to catch Vinny up at the airport.

But he never got that far. As Lewis headed outside to wait for his cab, a van screeched to a halt in front of him and two masked men bundled him inside.

ITV

Next week, Ross receives a message revealing that Lewis is in danger. The warning states that Lewis will only be safe if his father returns “Penny” to the kidnapper.

After sharing the news with Liam (Jonny McPherson), Ross urges him not to call the police, his first instinct being to track down Lewis’s adoptive father, Jeffrey.

But with no joy in finding any leads, Liam soon realises that the kidnapper could be after a different person entirely.

Liam is finally forced to admit the truth to Ross—that Lewis’s biological father is none other than Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill).

Ross is floored by the revelation, but knows that they need to find him fast.

But before they can get any further, the woman behind the abduction makes herself known. Kylie (Pippa Fulton) approaches Ross and confirms that she’s holding Lewis captive, warning that he won’t be released until Kev hands over Penny, which she describes as the most precious thing in the world.

ITV

Shortly afterwards, something sparks a sudden realisation in Liam, leading him to approach Claudette (Flo Wilson) and ask her to divulge Kev’s whereabouts—making it clear that it’s a matter of life or death!

2) Will Kev’s return save Lewis?

Claudette’s information finally enables Liam to track Kev down, parked up at the roadside, serving cake and coffee from a trailer under the name ‘A Slice of Kev-en’.

ITV

Liam brings Kevin back to Emmerdale, where his attitude quickly gets on Ross’s nerves.

ITV

The situation becomes clearer when Kev tells them that Penny is, in fact, a diamond, but he insists that he no longer has it after selling it to a pawn shop. Ross demands that he get it back, hoping it will be enough to secure Lewis’s release.

Once Kev is alone, it quickly becomes clear that he hasn’t been honest. As he looks down at the diamond hanging around his neck, hidden underneath his jacket, it becomes clear that Penny was never sold at all.

The following day, Lewis is still being held by Kylie and is terrified by how little he knows about what she intends to do. When he asks whether she’s planning to kill him, her vague answer does nothing to calm him down.

ITV

Ross and Liam are also running out of time. Kylie sends Ross a threatening message featuring scalpels, before making a video call to Kev and demanding that he returns Penny by the end of the day.

She makes it clear that she expects to be taken seriously, referring to the eight years she spent in Holloway as she piles more pressure on Kev to hand the diamond over.

ITV

Reluctant to part with Penny, Kev first claims that the pawn shop has already sold the diamond on, but later changes his story and says he’s managed to buy it back. Ross remains suspicious, and with Lewis’s life still at risk, he decides he can’t trust Kev to keep his word.

Taking matters into his own hands, Ross knocks Kev unconscious and tells Liam that he intends to use him as an insurance policy when they make the trade.

Meanwhile, Lewis is still locked in Kylie’s bedroom. He tries to find a way out, but when his escape attempt fails, he’s left trapped and panicking.

ITV

Ross then heads to meet Kylie in the hope of getting Lewis back. But with Kev at the centre of it all, can the exchange really go to plan… and will Lewis finally discover their father and son connection?

3) Charity flees as she reaches crisis point

Elsewhere in the village, Charity (Emma Atkins) continues to struggle, as Mackenzie (Lawrence Robb) grows increasingly worried about how little she’s letting him in.

Since being assaulted by Dr Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker), Charity’s been trying to carry on without telling her family the truth. She reported Todd to the police, but later withdrew the allegation after Todd threatened to expose the truth about Leyla’s parentage.

ITV

With Todd now gone from the village, Charity’s still been left to deal with what happened alone.

Recent episodes have seen her having bad dreams, drinking while taking prescribed anti-depressants and sleeping pills, and allowing those around her to believe she’s suffering from postnatal depression.

ITV

Next week, Charity finds an unexpected moment of connection with Cain (Jeff Hordley), as the pair acknowledge how much they’ve both been lashing out while dealing with their own private pain.

Charity encourages Cain to speak to Moira (Natalie J Robb) and Liam about what he’s going through, but when Cain gently pushes her to talk in return, she refuses to open up about what’s really wrong.

Later, Mack admits to Chas (Lucy Pargeter) that he doesn’t know how to help his wife. He feels useless as Charity keeps pushing him away, while Chas is left guilty over the secrets she’s keeping from him.

ITV

When Mack tries again to reach Charity, she can’t cope with being near him. Overwhelmed, she rejects his attempts to talk and gets into her car, speeding away from the village in tears.

With Charity clearly at breaking point, will anyone be able to get through to her?

4) Charity meets a stranger

Charity’s disappearance leaves her family fearing the worst.

A few miles from the village, a visibly broken Charity stands alone by a secluded lake, staring out across the water and ignoring a call from Mack.

Charity hears a rustle behind her and realises she’s no longer alone. A stranger has come across her and can quickly see that something is wrong.

ITV

The woman tries to help, encouraging Charity to talk to her. But when she reaches out to touch her, Charity reacts instantly and hits her.

Horrified by what she’s done, Charity apologises. The stranger is surprisingly understanding and doesn’t push back, instead suggesting that Charity’s reaction may have come from being touched without permission.

That response throws Charity. With the stranger offering a supportive ear, Charity begins to consider trusting her with the truth of what she’s been going through.

ITV

Meanwhile, Charity’s family regroup after their searches fail to find her. Mack is beside himself with worry and, realising they can’t keep looking on their own, makes the decision to call the police.

Later in the week, Charity comes clean. But after months of hiding her escalating lies, how much is she ready to reveal?

5) Kerry and Archie are rumbled

Kerry (Laura Norton) and Archie (Kai Assi) face fresh trouble next week, as Caleb (Will Ash) starts working out who was behind the fake Steph call.

ITV

Archie managed to con Caleb out of £5,000 by using an AI copy of daughter Steph’s (Georgia Jay) voice, pretending she needed money for a flat deposit.

Kerry found out what he’d done, but after another clash with Caleb, she decided to keep quiet and take a share of the money instead.

ITV

The pair later made things worse by trying to use the fake Steph voice again. That second attempt was interrupted by Eric (Chris Chittell), but it was enough to confirm to Caleb that he’d been scammed.

At the depot, Caleb’s new counterfeit goods sideline with Billy (Jay Kontzle) is also starting to attract attention.

ITV

Jai (Chris Bisson) becomes suspicious when he notices them acting like they’re in on something together, but Caleb’s more concerned with getting to the bottom of the fake Steph call, convinced that Kerry and Jai are somehow involved.

ITV

However, Caleb’s attention is soon drawn to Archie after witnessing something in the cafe. Rather than accusing him outright, Caleb offers him some paid work using AI at the depot, giving himself a chance to see whether Archie knows more than he’s letting on.

The plan works. When Caleb checks Archie’s laptop, he finds a folder named “Steph” and realises he’s found the source of the fake voice.

When Caleb confronts Archie, the teen immediately panics and tries to save himself by putting the blame on Kerry.

ITV

Caleb heads down to the shop and confronts Kerry, who struggles to talk her way out of it. She insists Archie was the one who came up with the scam, but Caleb points out that Archie is already saying the same about her.

With Caleb threatening to call the police, Kerry’s left exposed. But when he warns that she could be facing jail time, she fires back with a threat of her own.

ITV

Can Kerry stop Caleb from reporting the scam, or has Archie left her to take the blame?

6) Sarah has an unexpected family reunion

Also next week, there’s a new Sugden in the village when Serena (Casey Al-Shaqsy) makes an unexpected arrival.

Serena makes her way up to Emmerdale Farm, expecting to find Robert (Ryan Hawley), but instead comes face-to-face with Sarah (Katie Hill).

Sarah’s initially taken aback to find Serena there, before recognising the distant cousin she hasn’t seen for fifteen years.

ITV

The Sugdens are a core part of the Emmerdale fabric, and we are thrilled to welcome Casey to the family,” show producer Laura Shaw stated earlier this month.

Her character will be at the heart of some extremely gripping and unexpected storylines, forcing her to make difficult choices that will have dramatic consequences for some of the village’s biggest names.

ITV

I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining such an iconic show and playing a Sugden,” Casey added. “Serena is a fantastic character with so much going on beneath the surface. I can’t wait for the audience to see the drama unfold.
