8 Coronation Street Spoilers for Next Week – 25th to 29th May
Next week on Coronation Street, newcomer Idris causes a stir, a further secret is revealed about the night of Theo’s death, and Daniel’s nightmare spills into the real world.
1) Todd turns his back on No.11
Todd (Gareth Pierce) remains at odds with George (Tony Maudsley) next week, as Summer’s (Harriet Bibby) arrest leaves another fracture in the pseudo-family unit at No.11.
By the end of last week, Summer had been charged with Theo’s (James Cartwright) murder after the investigation closed in on her.

ITV

ITV
Kit’s (Jacob Roberts) discovery that she’d worn a distinctive brooch to Swarla’s wedding—which was later found in Todd and Theo’s flat with Theo’s blood on it—had already put her under suspicion.
George then made things worse by telling Lisa (Vicky Myers) that he saw Summer near the flat on the night Theo died, leaving Todd furious that his own family had helped push the case against her further.

As the week begins, George and Christina (Amy Robbins) attempt to smooth things over, but Todd is in no mood to hear them out. Mary (Patti Clare) also tries to step in to force a reconciliation, only to get the same response.
With the atmosphere still tense at No.11, Todd makes a big decision. Rather than stay under the same roof as George and Christina, he announces that he’s moving in with Sarah (Tina O’Brien).

ITV
Sarah, however, is already under pressure herself, seemingly a lasting result of the attack at No.8, which she’s unaware was actually committed by Jodie (Olivia Frances-Brown).
Last week, Sarah’s confidence was still shaken, with Carla (Alison King) forced to step in after Sarah made mistakes at work. Sarah later lost her temper and ended up drunk in the Rovers, suggesting she was struggling more than she wanted to admit.

ITV
With Todd now staying at the apartment, Sarah leaves Kit a message, explaining the arrangement and making it clear that she misses him and wants him home.
Later in the week, Todd receives a phone call with some surprising news that shocks him to the core…
2) Danielle faces questioning over Theo
As Theo’s funeral approaches, it’s ex-wife Danielle (Natalie Anderson) who has been making the arrangements, and after she pops in to Preston’s Petals to pick up the bill for the flowers, Tracy (Kate Ford) then comments to George and Gary (Mikey North) that she could be due a big payout.

ITV
The comment gives George pause, as he points out that it could be a good enough motive for Danielle to kill her ex-husband.

ITV
Those suspicions come into sharper focus on the day of the funeral, when Danielle publicly turns on Todd after finding him in the bistro.
Seemingly having learned that Theo’s life insurance won’t be coming to her, Danielle accuses Todd of murdering Theo for the payout, leaving those around him reeling.

ITV
Mary immediately comes to Todd’s defence and points the finger back at Danielle, suggesting that she may have had her own reason to want Theo dead. Danielle leaves, but the confrontation has already given Ryan (Ryan Prescott) something to think about.

ITV
Following her outside, Ryan reveals that he recognises Danielle from the night of the murder. With her presence on the street that evening now called into question, he later takes his suspicions to Lisa, who brings Danielle in for questioning.

ITV

ITV
Could Danielle become the investigation’s next prime suspect?
3) A dark secret is revealed
Later in the week, viewers learn more about another resident’s account of the night Theo died, after they’ve already lied to the police about their movements.

ITV/EverySoap
This person is hiding a dark secret, which will finally be shown to viewers through flashback—revealing what they did, what they saw, and the guilt that they’ve carried ever since.
Whilst the identity of this person is a closely-guarded secret, viewers have already learned that Tyrone (Alan Halsall) has not been telling the truth about what happened that night.
Whilst being questioned by police, Summer remembered that Tyrone had seen her leave Todd and Theo’s flat before Theo’s death, and could therefore provide her with an alibi.

ITV
But when the police asked Tyrone to corroborate Summer’s claim, he denied all knowledge, leading the police to charge Summer and place her on remand.
Viewers then saw that Summer had been telling the truth.

ITV

ITV
In flashback, Tyrone was shown clearly seeing Summer leave the flat, before looking up and spotting Theo, still very much alive, at the window.

ITV

ITV
If Tyrone is the person whose secret is about to be exposed to viewers, what else happened that night—and why is he so afraid of the truth coming out?
4) Newcomer Idris causes a stir
Elsewhere on the cobbles, a new arrival makes a big impression on Leanne (Jane Danson).
Tuesday begins with a strange incident whilst Brody (Ryan Mulvey) is out for a jog. Seeing a flash car pull up on the street, Brody witnesses a young man, Damo (Jake Hartley-Parry) scrambling out of it and onto the pavement.
Later in the day, Brody is working a temporary shift at Speed Daal when a group of rowdy businessmen cause trouble and spill curry over his trainers.

ITV
The moment is witnessed by Idris (Junaid Khan) as he enters the restaurant, who quickly takes control of the situation, demanding money for the damaged trainers and throwing the men out.

ITV
Alya (Sair Khan) is pleased to see Idris, and Leanne soon recognises him as Kal’s (Jimi Mistry) cousin, who she’d previously met at a wedding.

ITV

ITV
“The connection is instant,” Junaid Khan tells us. “He likes Leanne because she’s ‘real.’ He’s used to flashy people, but when he sees Leanne fending off a group of guys who aren’t paying their bill, he sees a strength in her that he admires.”
Adam (Sam Robertson), however, is far less taken with him, especially when Idris reveals that he’s bought a property agency in Manchester.
“Because Adam is a solicitor and Idris is in property – and maybe doing some ‘unethical’ things – they don’t see eye-to-eye,” Junaid reveals. “He takes a dig at Adam for not stepping in during that Bistro trouble, and it just continues from there.”

ITV
“Idris is a bit ‘Marmite’ you’re either going to love him or hate him. He’s not a villain, but there are definitely flashes of darkness.”
Brody is quick to see an opportunity and asks Idris for a job, but away from the others, Idris’s connection to Damo becomes more concerning when he grabs him and steers him into the ginnel.
The following day, Idris offers Brody a job. He explains that he’s renting a flat in the precinct, but the previous tenant did a runner and the place needs clearing out.

ITV

ITV
As Alya, Adam and Idris celebrate Eid, Alya suggests that Idris could stay with them. Though whether Adam is happy about the idea is another matter.
Leanne later catches Idris’s eye after seeing how she handles herself with a thug who threatens her. Impressed, he invites her for a drink in the Rovers, and as the pair relax in each other’s company, Idris leans in for a kiss.

ITV

ITV
Leanne later admits what’s happened to Alya, but her reaction is far from encouraging. She gently warns Leanne to stay away from Idris, making it clear that she doesn’t think he’s someone to get involved with.

ITV

ITV
Whether Leanne takes that advice remains to be seen, especially when Idris is soon seen flirting with Tracy too…
5) Will reaches breaking point
Will (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) reaches another frightening low next week, as the fallout from Megan’s (Beth Nixon) abuse continues to affect every part of his life.

ITV
After finally telling the police about his relationship with Megan, Will has been left trying to deal with the consequences of everything that happened.
Megan has since been released on bail, leaving Will struggling to feel safe, while the wider reaction to what happened has only added to the pressure on him.
By the end of this week, Will’s behaviour had become increasingly volatile. After skipping his PE exam, he reacted badly when Bethany (Lucy Fallon) tried to offer support, accusing her of touching him as she accidentally brushed his hand.

ITV
For Ben (Aaron McCusker) and Eva (Catherine Tyldesley), it’s another sign of how much damage Megan has left behind.
Sam’s (Jude Riordan) anger towards Will has also been building from a distorted version of events. Since he exposed Megan’s grooming, Sam has become increasingly convinced that Will is a threat, with his anxiety leading him to see and hear visions of Will intimidating him.

ITV
The real Will has no idea what Sam has been experiencing, but Sam’s fear has already driven him to lash out at one of these hallucinations, believing he was defending himself.

ITV
Next week, the two boys cross paths in the café, where Sam confronts Will and calls him evil. For Will, the accusation comes without the full context of what Sam has been seeing, leaving him shaken by another reminder of how much damage has been caused.

ITV
Soon afterwards, Will overhears Ben telling Eva that he fears Megan has ruined his son’s life. Already struggling with how people now see him, a devastated Will heads to the back of the shop.
There, he climbs high up the scaffolding while drinking vodka. When Asha (Tanisha Gorey) spots him, she texts Maggie (Pauline McLynn) for help, while Hope (Isabella Flanagan) races to the Rovers to raise the alarm.
With the Driscolls watching anxiously from below, Maggie climbs up after Will and manages to get through to him, urging him to take back control of his life.
Unseen by the family, Megan watches the crisis unfold nearby…

ITV
The following day, Hope reveals to Will that she saw him talking with Megan, and urges him to tell his family. But when Will finds a scrap of paper in his pocket with Megan’s new mobile number written down, what will he do?
6) Hope hopes Will will notice her
Hope soon starts taking more interest in Will, as she suggests that they revise together.
Ruby (Billie Naylor) picks up on what’s going on and tells Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) and Tyrone that Hope fancies him. Uneasy, Fiz is quick to advise Hope not to get involved.

ITV
Despite Fiz’s concern, Will and Hope later settle down to their English revision. Eva listens from the hall and is reassured when Hope jokes that the carnage of Will’s love life resembles Romeo and Juliet, making Will laugh.

ITV
But how will Fiz feel when she arrives and talks with Eva about Will and Hope spending so much time together?
7) Daniel’s troll torment spirals
Daniel’s (Rob Mallard) torment continues next week, as the trolling sparked by his relationship with Megan spreads beyond Jodie’s control.
Viewers now know that Jodie is the person behind the Truthteller account, which has been posting vile claims about Daniel since Megan’s grooming of Will was exposed.

ITV
But Daniel remains unaware that the woman presenting herself as his main source of support, and staying with him in his flat, is also the one who helped push him further into crisis.
The fallout is no longer confined to Daniel either. As the week begins, he tells Ken (William Roache) that young son Bertie (Henry Duggan) is now being bullied because of the posts, leaving him determined to confront Truthteller once and for all.

ITV
Back at the flat, Jodie reads Daniel’s furious reply to the latest post, but she’s caught off guard when Daniel walks in. Already on edge, he notices her concealing her phone and demands to know what she’s looking at, leaving Jodie scrambling for an explanation that won’t expose her.

ITV

ITV
Daniel later tells Jodie that he’s reported the trolling to the police and they’re going to investigate, but will they be able to trace the account back to her?
By midweek, Daniel is still unable to switch off from the abuse. After another sleepless night scrolling through the posts, Jodie points out that Truthteller appears to have gone quiet and suggests that other trolls have now jumped on the bandwagon.

ITV
Her point is soon proved when the online attacks spill into the real world. As Daniel waits for Ken and Bertie outside No.1, two lads ambush him, squirt him with ketchup and hurl insults while filming his reaction. Daniel snaps and threatens to kill them.

ITV

ITV
The humiliation follows him to Speed Daal, where he sees Idris laughing at the footage. Already at breaking point, Daniel’s anger erupts again.
Ken later urges Daniel to take more time away, but Daniel finally admits that the last ‘holiday’ never happened. He’d been hiding in the flat all along, with only Jodie for company.

ITV
Ken is shocked that Daniel has let things get this far, especially with Bertie caught in the middle. He makes it clear that Daniel’s son needs more from him than this, leaving Daniel forced to face how badly he’s been slipping.

ITV
By the end of the week, Daniel thinks the ordeal may finally be easing when the Truthteller posts disappear. Believing the account has gone, he gathers Ken, Tracy, Alya and Jodie in the bistro to mark the moment.

ITV
But with Jodie’s alter-ego already having caused so much damage, is Daniel really free of the trolling?

ITV
8) Betsy and Dylan battle it out
Also next week, Leanne puts Betsy (Sydney Martin) and Dylan (Liam McCheyne) through their paces as she looks to fill a vacancy at Speed Daal.

ITV
With only one job available, Leanne gives them both a trial shift and makes it clear that they’ll need to prove themselves if they want the role.
Who will emerge victorious?
